  1. It's a simple pull force test

    <snip for length>

    -In just a few minutes on Fords site I built an F150 with 3.5TT and 4x4 for $39k and an F250 with diesel and 4x4 for $48k.

    Yeah I'll agree the slipping tires makes it just an initial pull test.

    The Tesla motor is going to have way more torque available than the gasoline or diesel motor in the Ford, even with gearing. Those take RPM to get up to their torque range while the electric has most of its torque immediately. If they weighed the same, and were pulling the same drag load (not one another), I'm pretty sure the Tesla would still beat the Ford rather easily.

    Also I didn't check prices but assumed most 49k F-150s were pretty basic optioned, and 250's starting there.

  2. It's a wide angle lens photo, super pointy front end is looking extra pointy because the lens in pulling it forward at the edges.

    Yeah, it is pulling it and exaggerating it some. There's a video of the camo demo rolling around NYC. It's still a little too pointy IMO.

  3. I wasn't sure if this was satire.

    I think we should move to a mileage tax on registrations and do away with the fuel tax. More efficient cars use less gas but tear up the road just as much or more than they use to. Only real downside is a registration tax doesn't grab interstate traffic that contributes to messing up the roads. Maybe keep a diesel tax but do away with the gasoline.
