  1. I'm thinking about picking up a couple of XR100's for my GF and I to tool around on this summer. Probably hit up Circleville and some flat track around here. Are there any good resources/forums around to find bikes, parts, and info? How much should I expect to spend per bike?

  2. Sell the cars and get bikes! Seriously, cars get boring as hell if you don't have a bunch of friends really into them or you don't do track days. Buy a motorcycle and start doing track days, if that is too expensive/dangerous, get an XR100 and start racing at Circleville! I haven't done it yet but it looks like a blast. I'm hoping to start doing it this year.

The lifting weights is a given, but I would also suggest getting a mountain bike. Bombing trails through the woods is very relaxing and you don't really even feel like your're working out. You can ride year round if you want, or go indoor to Ray's in Cleveland and down the cave in Kentucky. Cheap to get into as well.

  3. Buy cheap Whirlpool 29" models. They all use the same shit inside anyways, the expensive ones just have a whole lot more electronic features that can break. Unless you are putting them on display in your living room to impress people, go cheap.

I can get you discounts on Whirlpool and their brands if you are interested. Just PM me with your email address and I can send you a link.

  4. I've been there several times but the last time I went wasn't that great. They had the supertrack open the whole time, which really needs to be ground/prepped. Interesting challenge I guess, but it kind of sucks transitioning from grippy to sheet of ice in one corner.

They also cut one session short by about half and refused to admit their mistake or give us anything to make up for it. We went out one session and had maybe 2-3 laps in when they pulled out the checkered flag. Tires weren't even heated up yet. They said the lap timers all showed like 7 laps or something, it was complete bullshit.

That being said, I would still go there...

  5. Mid Ohio is less than an hour drive, bring a motorcycle and drag some knee at the many track days they have during construction season.

Decent XC mountain biking at Mohican, Alum Creek, Chestnut Ridge, etc. No downhill or anything comparable to out West though. We do have some badass indoor MTB options though at Ray's in Cleveland or the Mine down in KY.

Get a stand up jetski for Alum Creek like a Superjet, SXR, or if you've got money go with an aftermarket flatwater ski.

Paintballing at Splatterpark. Their rules suck, but I don't think there are any decent fields around anymore.

  6. I recently had about $7k worth of tools (welder, generator, etc) stolen out of a good friends garage and an enclosed trailer. The thieves cut the padlocks off of the enclosed trailer that was sitting right behind the detached garage and stole my generator (~$1k), then pushed in the top of the garage door to get at the latch.

Would it be worth trying to file a claim? Most of the stuff was mine, so I'm not sure if they would even cover it. I'm more worried about how much his premiums will go up if he does file a claim, as he just filed a claim for flood damage 3-4 years ago.

  7. Can anyone recommend a company around central Ohio that does aluminum anodizing? I'm looking to have some aluminum tanks done, around 4.5ft^2 on the outside, maybe the inside too if the price is right. I would probably be trying to have them done in batches of 5-10 tanks.
