Hot, 30-35 psi on the front and 25-28 psi on the rear

Given the size of that patch, I'm going with hot tear.
UNDER-inflation, you need MORE air.
Hmmm... I suppose it could be, but physically it matches the description of cold tear if you see it in person.

Cold tear? Too much pressure for the given temp settings ?
That's what I thought, but I kept dropping the pressure incrementally down to 25.5, maybe 25 psi even I think at the end of the day, and it stayed the same or got worse instead of cleaning up.

So I've had this tire wear issue since last season and haven't been able to figure it out. I've been running Pirelli Supercorsa SC1 front and SC2 rear on my R6 since last season and had this wear issue with them from the start. At the same time I also had my front forks rebuilt due to a seal leak and had some Racetech springs put in while they were apart (went off of their calculator) but didn't respring the rear (probably should). I had Hordpower in Bucyrus do a quick suspension check/setup and dyno since they were doing some tuning on my Speed Triple too.
Anyways, I've run the rear tire at hot pressures from 30 psi down to 25.5 psi with no change in the wear pattern. I usually run 31-32 psi in the front tire and have always run warmers on them all day. The rear appears to be cold tearing pretty severely in the middle with a slight wavy pattern at times. The front usually looks pretty good although the last track day I started to get a bit of hot tear on it. The rear tire only has two track days at MidOhio on it and it's down to the wear bars. The pace was pretty mild, I usually average 1:44-1:45 with open track.
Any ideas? I'd like to get this figured out before the Labor day track day at mid ohio. It seems like a geometry issue to me since changing tire pressures seem to have little effect... After reading all of the tire wear guides it seems like maybe the front is underweighted, maybe respring the rear shock and raise it up a bit? I'm going to try and measure the geometry and sag myself and see if I can't find a culprit somewhere...

Me getting passed by Nathan @Limitedslip7 (third bike - white R6). Then trying to keep up for a lap. Also a shot from his camera right before the pass. Need to work on my BP.
Looks like I need to get my torso out there further, not to mention me blowing the apex before the keyhole... You were looking good out there though!

I'll be there pending weather...

What an awesome time, even with my crash at the end, still had a great time. Thank you @Tonik for sharing the experience with me for our first track days together. Thanks to @TimTheAzn for helping show the ropes.
Here is the video for those interested:Looks like the K&N Oil Filter failed and shot oil everywhere ---
Man I would have been shitting my pants! I'd say that ended about as good as it possibly could have...
It was good meeting you guys! Looking forward to doing it again on Labor Day

I called Friday to sign up Intermediate, I just missed the cutoff for early registration so I'll be a walk on like usual. They said they had 15 spots or so open in I and A, but are sold out in Novice.

2013 street triple R, the ones I saw on eBay are like asking for 120 bucks for used rashed rear set. I am thinking of just getting a cheapo rear set full kit for that kinda money. Oem new triumph is costly but if they could have sourced it for me before this weekend would have pulled the trigger. But I think it's better to just wait and not try to spend more to meet a deadline.
Know if they are the same as the ones on a 2011 Speed Triple? I'll probably bring my Triumph as a backup bike and you are welcome to borrow the shift lever if that's all you need. Just replace it if you break it!

I'm a slacker and usually show up at like 8-8:30. I usually skip the 1st Intermediate session to let the track heat up and the dew to dry off. Gives me plenty of time to get my gear out and tires warmed up. I'm usually pooped after six sessions anyways... I would find myself making a lot of mistakes and cramping at the end of the day if I ride 7 sessions hard. Need to get my ass in better shape I reckon.

I'll chip in on a garage if there ends up being any space available. I'll have my enclosed trailer and tent if not so it's no big deal...

Early weather forecast is looking good! I'll probably sign up later this week if it holds up.

really slacking on my trackdays this year. considering catching up with 3 TRACKS IN 3 DAYS! 8>}
PTR on Sat, Nelsons on Sun, and MidO on Mon.
Just need kitchen clearance.......
I don't think I would be able to even move after two track days in a row, let along three...

Olympus TG-4. I've only used it for snorkeling and shallow dives but it takes pretty damn good underwater pics! I like it enough I'm going to get a housing and strobe for deeper dives. I usually just use my phone for above-water pics... They just came out with the TG-5 so I'm sure you could find the TG-4 for cheap.

Any update on the eclipse issue? Is there a good chance we will be losing a session or two?

What type of CNC'ing are you looking for? Machining? Laser? Waterjet? Plasma? Does it need to be in Columbus? I use a place here in Marion called General Machine & Saw for lasercutting and bending aluminum/steel. Decent prices, quick turnaround, and they do powdercoating too. You can hit up Tae at Taea@gmsaw.com for a quote...

I just realized this is the same day as the solar eclipse... happening from 1-4pm.
Well that'll make things interesting... any idea how dark it's going to get?

I'll be in for the 21st as long as it isn't going to rain all day. I've had bad luck getting to track days this year so I've got three gift certs burning a hole in my pocket.

My XR100 came with BT45 100s that are nearing the wear bars. I'd like to upgrade to a new set of 110s before the next race. Where is the best place to get them that have them in stock? I've seen some debate about "H" rating vs "V" rating as well, assuming H is the way to go? Also, what size tubes should I get? Get new or reuse the ones in the 100s? I assume that they would use the same size tube but I'd like to be sure...
Thanks!

I'll take the leathers if you are willing to ship. Boots too if he doesn't buy them. Shipping via USPS should only be like $20 or so. Think you could shoot me a total with shipping to 43302 when you get a chance? I can just paypal you the total then...
Thanks!

I bailed too, looking like rain starting after noon...

I might head over there tomorrow if the weather clears up. Was going to try and go today but woke up to thunderstorms and steady rain...

I rode with a guy last week that cycled Pikes Peak. I thought the Skyway was a climb.
I was out there a couple of years ago and we drove up in an Tahoe. It seemed like there might have been some biking event going on there around the same time because there were a bunch of roadies all over the place riding up from the bottom. Followed some guy in a Mustang up about 3/4 or more of the way, then watched as he pulled off and got his bike out and rode the rest of the way up. We saw him later at the top, hanging out with the other roadies and probably acting like he rode all the way from the bottom!
I've been completely pooped after climbing maybe 1500ft on a mountain bike, I can't imagine the hell that would be pedaling all the way up that mountain...

Pretty much looks exactly like that^ (the first two pics anyway)
Is that delamination on the 2nd two pics?! Was any explanation for the wear with that pic?
