  1. Lol, I saw the dyno sheet and my first reaction was "all that for only 600ish?!", then "4 psi, FUCK!" Very nice!
  2. Damn, fast ass car. Notice it still loses to the 7 though.
  3. Bored at work and decided to read more into Stan Meyer's "accomplishments". Turns out there is a Wikipedia page on him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanley_Meyer There are other links at the bottom explaining some things too.
  4. Hmmm... This seems to be turning into another "airplane on a treadmill" type myth. I'm not very good at explaining things, and I certainly don't think I am smart, I just really love arguing. Perhaps we could get 360Iroc's brother to explain this more in-depth? I will explain again, it is possible to "run a car on water" by extracting the hydrogen and burning it, but it takes alot of energy to do this. The explanation they give in the video is impossible.
  5. Is it possible that he was never heard from again because he was full of shit and nobody gave a damn once they realized this?
  6. Perhaps I used the wrong wording here. It does not violate the 1st law of thermodynamics because it cannot. I should have said that if it worked as they say it does in the video it would violate the 1st law. The explanation they give in the video is complete and utter bullshit. Hydrogen and oxygen readily form strong covalent bonds to create a more stable compound. They WILL NOT split apart back into their less stable elemental forms without energy INPUT. ImUrOBGYN is right, I didn't understand how they could magically make water split itself apart without any other energy input or reaction, so I looked it up. The first Yahoo search I pulled up was another source covering the same story. Economic Times. This article says something quite a bit different than the video. Turns out it produces electricity using a hydrogen fueled fuel cell, not "electrons released when water and hydrogen are split apart ". That actually makes sense. This is actually believable as well, as metal hydrides (such as the alkaline metals) quickly react with water, combining with the oxygen and leaving oxides + hydrogen + heat as the result. The metal is consumed and MUST BE REPLENISHED for the reaction to continue. So the metal is actually the fuel and not water. Guess what gets emitted by the fuel cell? WATER! Apparently, all they did was create a more efficient fuel cell and/or method of generating the hydrogen. I'm willing to bet that the metal hydrides used are quite a bit more expensive than gasoline though. My guess is just bad reporting, maybe a language barrier issue or something?
  7. You guys are gonna make my head asplode. If he is using a catalyst, it is probably pure sodium or another of the alkaline metals as they react with water and release the hydrogen. You think gasoline is expensive? Try filling up on sodium... Harmonics have absolutely nothing to do with it. Hotwire, it is the 1st law of thermo that it is violating.
  8. ...Hydrogen has an MON (the test that will give highest results, and will be much higher than the AKI number we are familiar with) of 90. NOT 120. More fucking bullshit. This is the reason hydrogen can not be used in most ICEs, the intake valves get hot enough to light the FA mixture off on its way into the combustion chamber.
  9. I can't view the video at work, but I call bullshit, and I also think thermodynamics should be a required class in high school. Sure you can have a car "powered by water", it can and already has been done with electrolysis. However, like rl said, the power has to come from somewhere and just using the power for electric motors would be far more efficient. Energy in must equal energy out.
  10. Be prepared to buy the bolts in bags of like 50 if you go to Fastenal.
  11. Pretty nifty. I'm really amazed that there is no wear in the piston pin slot though. I would think that wear and galling would be a problem without a coating, insert, or some kind of oil film preventing direct metal on metal contact, even if it is highly polished.
  12. Turn it up! I love summertime, anything below 70 just sucks ass. I love getting sweaty as long as I don't have to be somewhere looking and smelling presentable.
  13. Hay Andy, I'm thinking about going to Newark on the 15th, you in? Actually, I'm calling your ass out. Are you a bad enough dude to face my balls of fury?
  14. I don't belive that would happen. As oil prices increase, other forms of energy become much more cost effective. Batteries, solar panels, and fuel cells which may seem expensive now will start to look like a bargin, especially as additional research dollars begin to pour into those fields. Electric and/or hydrogen power will simply replace oil as these alternatives become available.
  15. Anyone have one? I need it by this weekend, I will be driving from Cinci to Marion friday afternoon, going through Columbus. If someone has one, lemme know! Motor is going in the car this weekend, I would prefer not to have to pull it back out later...
  16. I want it. :bangbang: I'm still trying to find a place to play this weekend, it looks like I am going to Indian Lake on Sat for BBQ/beer/shenanigans and there is a speedball place right down the road. If not, I might just driving to Newark on Sunday, we shall see.
  17. Anyone playing speedball anywhere?

    paintball

A friend and I are going to that place in Pataskala this Saturday, the 17th. I think it is called Fran Bar paintball or something. It is just down the road from Defined Autoworks. They said they have like 6 fields, including a few speedball fields. Lemme know if anyone else is interested.
  19. I think there needs to be an "On Blocks" class too... This class would undoubtably have the most action out of all of them.
  20. That minigun... I wonder if that is as much fun as it looked?
  21. Well, if she actually said "axe" instead of "ask", that would probably mean she is a ghetto wigger ho. After telling her to stop talking like a ghetto wigger ho, I would say HELL YEA, and hit it like the angry fist of god.

    paintball

There is a place in Pataskala I was thinking about checking out this weekend or next. I forget the name of it, it looks like a farm or something. I stopped in there one time and asked the guy some questions about the place, he seemed like a dick, but they have six fields with HPA/CO2 fills. He said the field fee is like $10-15 and they do not sell paint, so you have to bring your own. I did not get prices on rental packages.
  23. Actually it's those Freakin' Ricans. Look up GRS motorsports on 7club, they have all kinds of crazy sick ass rotary videos. Seems like they are always in Starlets or something... 1000+ whp out of a 2-rotor seems the norm down there. Aussie/Kiwis would be a close 2nd though... Oh yea, to the OP, my guess is... GAS TURBINE!
  24. Ummmm... I don't think I'm alone when I say... that video pretty much sucked. That 38 min could very easily be condensed into a 2-3 min video.
