  1. Bought my bike in march with a lil over 600 miles and it has a around 4.1k miles on it. Bout to put it up for the winter tomorrow probably.
  2. People being fake on the net? Umm I hope people realize that this has been going on since before the internet even existed. The only difference is instead of all the fake ass people talking behind everyones back hoping the person there talking about doesn't find out is that it's now public and the person there talking about can now see it. As far as strangers go I see no difference, it all depends on your setting(be a website or a public place) wether people are douchebags or nice. Just my $0.02 but fuck people, I don't give 2 shits.what most of them think
  3. What kind of job/pay are you looking for? Might know a few places around Dayton.
  4. Thats fucked up. Glad them girls are being charged as adults and are gunna get a felony aggravated assult charge.
  5. Ya, obvious scam(as stated in the first post) I just didn't know if this was the norm on craigslist or far and few inbetween. I've only used craigslist once before to make a purchase and things went smooth(the guy I made the purchase from turned out to be my supervisor lol) It's a shame people do stuff like this alot(apparently). It's a bigger shame that people are dumb enough to fall for it. Hec, I googled one of the email addresses and the entire email and there were ALOT of topics with pretty much the same email and user.
  6. 1) I'm surprised it wasn't dead earlier lol 2) nephew(I wish) 3) lame 4) drum roll 5) thanks 6) of course 7) I'd probably request a gas station super market, someplace with people around. 8) http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/3300570502.html few things I wish I would of did different, but this was my first CL post.
  7. I'll reply back saying cash only and I'm only willing to meet up in a public place. I guess that cant hurt.
  8. So, yesterday I posted my bike for sale on craigslist(first time posting on craigslist) and within 2 hours I got an email. The email asked if the bike was still for sell. Seriously? That is obviously the first sign of a scam. Next sign of this being a scam is the email address of the guy(using my mobile mail) did not match the email(using my gmail) in my actual inbox... Anywho I sent back a reply stating that the bike was JUST posted it's obviously still for sell. This is the email I got back Thanks for your mail...I am ready to buy it now for my Son as a surprise promise gift,And due to the nature of my work, phone calls making and visiting of website are restricted but i squeezed out time to check this advert and send you an email regarding it.i would be glad to pay for it as soon as possible though i will not be available to come for an inspection due to my tight schedule.Kindly get back to me with the following questions below:1) What is the condition?2) Are you the Owner?3) Pick up Location?4) Your Registered PayPal name and email address for payment.I would be glad to make the payment immediately through PayPal so kindly get back to me with your PayPal ID. You need not to worry yourself about title transfer and shipment,i will instruct the shipping company to handle that therefore in order to complete the transaction do get back to me with your PayPal ID and total cost sothat I can make the payment asap. I will be waiting for your reply!Regard* (copy paste sucks on my phone, sorry) Does this happen often on craigslist and do people really fall for it? I have no clue how tuis scam would work, but I know it has to be fake.
  9. Thanks, I guess I turned off NFL network at a bad time(11:45pm) last night lol. They said it could be a matter of seconds, minutes, hours, or days. I expected the later. Glad to hear it's over, those "replacement" refs were a joke.
  10. Lol, good one. Hopefully the lockout will be over soon.
  11. Didn't realize the raffle ended early when I posted.
  12. Hi, I'm Tom, been on here for a few months(some good, some bad) and most of you know me. I admit I was kind of childish before, no doubt about it. I would like to make amends and start over. I am putting the bike up for the winter here shortly(in my dads garage). I currently ride a 2011 ninja 250r which I plan on upgrading by next year, as some of you already know. I will be on and off through the winter and hopefully get a chance to go on some group rides next spring/summer. This was my first year riding and it was a wonderful experience for the most part. I've had a few cars pull out infront of me, including one time on a group ride(I thought my Buddy was going to wreck for sure, he came about a foot from hitting the car that ran the stop sign which then stoped.in the middle of the road instead of continuing into his own lane).
  13. I've had my endorsements and I did sign up for MSF unfortunately I was 1/2 an hour late due to time mix UPS. Just figured I'd clear that up. I've been riding for 6-7 months I would hope I know what I'm doing just a little bit by now. Expert? No. decent rider? Yes.
  14. I'm done discussing this. I've taken quite a few tips from here(hence put another 3k+ miles on the bike after my spill) I may have argued some, but I did learn from my mistakes and the words of others. I admitted to trolling on here some due to too much freetime on my hands and that wasn't the best choice and I apologize for it. If y'all don't want to give me a second chance so be it, but I would like to try and be a part of this OR community for real. I just want to move up to a bigger bike is all, that is my decision and I feel I'm ready. I'm not doing it to be "cool" or anything, I am doing it because I want to. I am sure someone here can appreciate the little ninja and have alot of fun with her, but I have had my good times with her and it's time to move on to.another girl now.
  15. You seem to know me better than I know myself Brian, anything else I should know about myself? Did you know that was my first ride ever? Did you know that was the second time I took my bike out of my neighborhood? Did you know that was the third time I rode the bike? Did you know I had only put probably not even 100 miles on the bike yet? Can you set me up with a diet plan and give me reasons I shouldn't buy a new SUV within the next couple years? I use sharp knives every day at work, maybe I should tell my boss I'm too incompetent to use these knives and switch to using a plastic knife? Many people told me not to join the army, did I listen? Nope and I did just fine. Don't come at me like I'm 12 dude, there's a huge difference between being helpful and treating someone like a kid. I think people do alot of stupid things, but sometimes everything turns out A OK. Everyone.needs guidance now and then, including you im sure. But let it go man, let it go.
  16. http://www.sportbikes.net/forums/general-sportbikes/434713-ninja-250r-highway-rides.html http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/How_does_the_EX250_handle_freeway_riding%3F People say it don't hurt the bike, I don't thin it does, I just personally don't like riding/driving anything close to being tacked out. And I wouldn't recommend downshifting to pass at highway speeds on this bike, it passes just fine and I never feel the need to downshift to 5th gear above 35-40 mph.
  17. I know I didn't mention any sport touring, alot are naked and I'm not 100% sure which ones are full fairing(could do some research, but prob not until the offer is on the table) but I would consider em. I just don't want a cruiser/standard. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_YZF600R#section_1 the 600r is actually under 90bhp but ya Any bike is a deathtrap if you think about it. If a car pulls out infront of you and there is no time to react or if you get t-boned it really won't matter what your on at that point. I don't plan on going 150+ just because the bike will go that fast(but who knows, we all get stupid sometimes lol) hec, I haven't even gone top speed on my 250, I took it up to 92 once and backed off and haven't gone that fast since. We all take risks, some of us more than others. If you have ever rode a ninja on the highway you would know it's not a fan. I sit around 11k rpm on my daily highway commute at 70-75mph and the bike redlines at 13k. My commute is pretty short, so that doesn't bother me, but I wouldn't feel comfortable riding it for long periods of time at that high of an rpm. I know the ninja is a high revving bike and is built to sustain high RPMs, but I would feel more comfortable with something tacked under 8k at highway speeds.
  18. I dunno, for some reason I have not run into this problem. I have had maybe a dozen people not wave/nod back this year. Once from a scoot, once at night good weather(sports), once in heavy rain at night(cruiser, no clue what kind, visibility was very low) and the rest in good day weather. 2 sports and like 5 cruisers(but every secondary rider waved) Most people seem to wave and I've even had a few HD riders initiate the wave. The only time I don't wave(or expect a wave back) is when my clutch hand is needed or I'm in a curve where I need both hands or I'll end up just nodding if I don't spot a fellow rider that waves until we have nearly passed.
  19. Meant to send you a pm, but accidentally left a wall message. It's late, sorry.
  20. Mark me down for 2 tickets(need the info so I can pay) I originally wasn't going to purchase a ticket, but I came into some extra money recently(won 2 big football pools). If you end up doing refunds don't bother refunding me, sure a chance at winning a bike is nice, but helping out others is more important in my eyes.

I hope your brother can make a speedy recovery.

  21. Thanks Brian. I am looking for a sport/touring full fairing bike in the 600cc range(cbr 600, yzf600, r6, etc) or a gsxr 750. Nothing too big, but something more highway friendly.
  22. I admit, I did take a small jab, but I did also listen to your advice. I wanted to correct you on an OTD price though. All the stock parts(that I have) are also going with the bike. I am willing to put everything back to stock if requested, with the exception of thr exhaust. The rejet was done by a dealer and I would not feel comfortable doing that myself for a few reasons(which I'm sure you already know why). I want to give someone a very fair deal, I do not believe in busting heads. I did my research before throwing a random price out there. Once I place the bike on craigslist I will list it at $3,200 there and see what offers I get if I do not sell it to a fellow OR member. http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=25913 As for the statistics, here is one from ninja 250 owners of this website(keep in mind alot of the I never wrecked/dropped mine are from brand new riders) I'm sure the rate is much higher on bigger bikes Not trying to argue with ya, just pointing out some verified statistics. Also I am not trying to justify the minor damage to the right side of my bike, but as someone on here said alot of learners may not care about looks, but they will want something that runs strong.
  23. Just read all the posts, thanks for the support guys and gals. As for the people against me I updated my first post with real prices, not made up prices like some people that did no research decided to post up just because they don't like me or the 250r or they just wanted to troll or stir up trouble or whatever the case may be
  24. I haven't read the whole thread yet, but thank you. Statistics show that a new rider will likely drop/laydown a bike shortly(within a year) after owning his first bike. I and I'm sure quite a few other people on here have seen first hand that this statistic is pretty accurate. The ninja is more of a learner/first time bike due to it's lack of power in my opinion, you pretty much arn't going to be able to grab enough throttle to make the bike do a wheelie and the bike is 1/2 the price of a bigger bike(new) so wrecking it will not be as costly and it is great for younger riders due to its cheap upkeep(cheap insurance and very easy to maintain and great on gas)
