  1. Yes really... Name the last movie you saw that was shot at higher than 24fps? The frame rate/refresh speed/p/i/blue ray/hd DVD doesn't matter... You cannot tell me you seriously notice a difference, you are full of shit... Fps matters for your games n shit(to a certain point)but as far as watching your movies, who gives a fuck, its all the same... It does not effect the resolution and in theory it effects the quality(but you can't see it) just because someone says it is better doesn't mean it is(as far as noticeability goes) it is a marketing and mind game. Do a side by side comparison of the same exact TV(not different TVs with the same specs) same brand/model and you cannot see a difference... Sure if I wanted you to believe you could see a difference I would compare a shitty TV to a good TV... Y'all can believe what you want, do some research though, I'm sure the many non opinionated experts out there can set you straight or just do your own research like I said with the same exact TVs, I have, there is no difference...
  2. Your shit refreshes 2x every 1/30th of a sec (60hz) whatever got em backwards, doesn't really matter... I displays 2 sets, one every 1/30th and P displays the full pixels every 1/30th, x that by 2 so I displays the full image every 1/30th and p still displays the full image(can't display 2 images ) every 1/30th... If you think you can see that with the naked eye it is your brain playing tricks on you Ok so reverse what I said P is better than I in theory, you seriously can't tell me you can see the difference... Btw, your movies and shit are shot @24fps... Not 60 or 30fps making your theory of it makes a difference irrelevant... hell even if there was a 1080x(154544544fps) it wouldn't make a difference, especially since pretty much everything is shot at 24fps(including your blie rays, which you think look soo much better than HD, it really doesn't) A crisp image is all that matters, your probably thinking of color display/contrast, which does make a difference to a point...
  3. This is like saying 1080I is better than 1080p... Sure in theory, but can you tell the difference? No... Things bogg down during the zerg fucking because your frame rate drops, it doesn't stay at 40fpa, if you had 60fps and it droped to 40 you wouldn't notice a difference, but if you had 40 and it dropped to 25fps you would notice a huge difference... You forgot to take that into account, but other than that you arnt going to notice a difference. unless maybe you are a ninja
  4. Doesn't matter, I usually run ATI with intel. I think it is more/less a marketing gimmick I used to run amd with nvidia aswell, but Intel and ati have really stepped up in the past few years. ATI is nice if you want a great card at a great price. Nvidia if your looking for a powerhouse and don't care about $$.
  5. Pretty sure I said you want the OS on your SSD in the comment you quoted which is why I said OS is a given As far as the basics, keep that on the HDD, if it gains little to no performance from the SSD no need to take up valuable space. SSD still isn't worth the $$, the extra performance upgrades spent elsewhere more than make up for the drive difference, just don't drop below 7.2k and keep your shit defragged(there is an option to do this automatically) CPU/gfx/ram are all much better options to spend the extra $$ on for performance upgrades or a better mobo for future upgrades and better bios. $100+ is too much to waste on a budget build of $750 or so.... CPU $300 Gfx $200 Mobo $125 Ram $125 (since he has case/hd and all the other stuff) What are you going to chop down? $100 is alot to cut out...
  6. Tell them you want to keep your HD and ship you one without, or that you want to buy the HD worst they can say is no. Download cpuid(advanced), that should tell you where your failure is at if it is an overheating issue. The free advanced version doesn't list everything at once, but close and open it a few times and it will eventually list everything(it's random)

  8. OS is a given and basic programs? Gtfo, you want to put that shit on your HDD, put your high end shit on the SSD. "basic programs" don't use alot of space, save that for the HDD...
  9. 125mbs? Where are you getting that from on 2.0? Sounds a bit off to me... Multiply that by 4.5 3.0 gets around 2.5gbps(up to 5gbps) Also I'm pretty sure if you do a little research I'm sure you would know this.. I'm also sure if you did the research between USB 3.0 and SSD you would also come to find there isn't a huge difference in data transfer speeds When it comes to computers I know my shit, so don't spit fake numbers at me.
  10. I would guess along the lines of a PT4 SE if thats what he has and didn't cheap out
  11. It doesn't make a difference, as long as you have the OS installed and boot from flash. There is no reason to remove a dedicated drive and it will save boot time. If you don't believe me just try it, it's pretty simple to set up it's not quite as fast as SSD, but pretty close.
  12. Btw, if your just suggesting it for faster boot times(because 6sec on a high end PC is alot...) Just use flash storage, I used to run my OS on flash before I had a high end PC. You do realize you can do this right? Flash and SSD are pretty similar, but I'm sure you knew that
  13. I have built quite a few PCs (prob 4-5 with SSD) it really isn't that impressive... We are talking meer seconds(if that in most cases) between boot/load times, it doesn't justify the 4x+ cost.
  14. I got pulled over Sunday for taking a right on red(without coming to a complete stop) the cop was pretty upset after he pulled me over, he thought he had a drunk driver He was pretty cool, we bullshited for a bit and he just gave me a warning. I was happy to hear he was searching for drunks, I run that light every day(very clear view) and that is the first time I have been pulled over for it(a usually sits across from it daily). I always treat it like a yield sign, oh well, learn something new every day. I didn't told him GL getting them drunks, I guess I should of told him to die
  15. Still $100 for 60GB is a bit much when you can get 1TB for $100, boot time isn't really shouldn't be an issue/factor neither should load time, there isn't that big of a difference to make up for the price. I take the platter comment was a joke atleast the second part anyhow. If he really wants SSD I would only recommend storing his high performances games on it, but I still find it rather useless outside of a laptop(which is where they shine) Once the market is flooded with SSDs it will be worth it, but until then there just isn't enough to justify the price.
  16. http://www.corsair.com/en/ssd/performance-pro-series-ssd/performance-series-pro-256gb-ssd-hard-drive.html $500 for 250GB? Gtfo... Actually, corsair is pretty nice... I have used their ram and psu without a hitch, I can't vouch for the SSD, but they are a brand name I would trust.
  17. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136767 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227753 $320 vs $90... $230 difference, the money is best spent elsewhere, that's all I'm saying. Lets be honest, 7.2k is not as good as the ssd, but you need to look at the build as a whole... You can't throw the best of something in a budget build, you can't throw crap in their either, you need to make a compromise. I have built quite a few systems in my time, but you can't just toss money around in a budget build(especially on a HD or DVD/blueray burner) that will eat up alot of your budget. $750 can build a nice system if you know what you are doing, otherwise you will go over budget or get stuck with something you don't want. Look at timing for example, will you notice a difference while playing your high end game? Probably not, why waste the extra $$ on latency? Is LC better than a fan? Sure, but is it needed? If he had an unlimited $ build or a higher budget than $750 SSD would work, but not for what he wants. Sure he can get a 40GB SSD, but that's just a waste. Save the $$ and spend it on the mobo(most people cheap out on the mobo )
  18. Ssd is a waste of money unless you have plenty to spare.7.5k - 10k rpm is plenty. Try www.newegg.com they have been great to me. I would post you a killer build for your range, but seeing how you wouldn't give 2shits I'm not going to unless you ask. Your psu should be fine, I usually drop a 750w psu in higher end units with no trouble. aftermarket heatsinks arnt really needed for anything you plan on doing, a good airflow case(antech1200) would be money better spent. the case is super quiet with all fans set to low including gfx and CPU fans while only running like 42c on high end shit. if you want my recommendation just let me know and I'll piece something together for you that I think you'll like. Oh btw if you go x58 u want tripps otherwise you want duals. I see that mistake pretty often. Btw, I usually charge a $100 or 10%(whichever is greater) for PC builds, but if you need help putting her together and feel like driving pretty far when you get it I'll do it free.
  19. I thought we were hooking up? :sexytime:

    bike night

So bike night is the only free night? I know it's not posted yet, I just did't get where the free part came from since the site doesn't mention free days. I know there is usually a fee to get in, except for military.

Where is he getting spectator is free? The site says $5, I can get in free, but again rather stand outside(great view) @brown thought u meant requirements to race. They have a schedule, but it doesn't say much, I would just call em and find out what you wanna know.
