  1. There's plenty of us on super sports that ride 300+ mile days all the time. If you're on good roads you don't get uncomfortable or start to ache. Not to mention the metro parks are boring, especially compared to Southern OH roads. Tag along and I'm sure you won't regret it.
  2. If I'm available I'm down for whatever. I've been doing 8-10 hour rides the past few rides so anything goes for me really. Not sure if you're looking to go on that long of a ride or not.
  3. I won't know until next week really. I got a wedding next month so my available weekends are booking quick with stuff to finalize.
  4. Anyone in the NE area want to head out Saturday morning and ride to some nice roads? Last weeks weather sucked but this week is looking perfect with it saying mid-70's and sun. No route determined as of yet, depends how far people want to go but I have a few in mind to ride. Depending where we decide to go we can plan to meet at the Bolivar exit off of 77 at a gas station and go from there. Maybe meet at around 8:15-8:30? Can do a little later as well, but I'd like to head out by 9ish.
  5. The weather doesn't look too promising as of now so if Saturday is a wash I may take a ride around the 151 area if anyone in the NE is interested. It won't be anything too long, maybe 5-6 hours or so.
  6. That looks pretty similar just less direct than mine. Who knows though, I usually throw together a route then we go off the route eventually and hit more roads in the area if everyone in the group is up for it so we could potentially ride some of those other roads.
  7. Or if anyone is unfamiliar with getting to Freeport we can always meet in Bolivar off of 77 and work our way down.
  8. This may be a little early but weather pending I'm up for another decently long ride this Saturday. I'm thinking of heading south towards Marietta, east a little ways, and then back north. The route I have mapped out so far is starting in Freeport, OH on 800. This could be for central ohio riders as well seeing as the route starts about an hour or so outside of Columbus (I believe). The route I'm considering is 800s-26sw-537w-260s-7n-536n-78w-800n/26n-145ne-148e-9n-151w-212n. Or stay on 9n to head back. The meeting spot could be at the Marathon gas station on 800 in Freeport, the address is 237 E Main St, Freeport, OH. Or depending where everyone is coming from meet further north and take 77s to where we want to start and meet any central riders down in Freeport. As for time maybe 9:00am meet and 9:15ish kickstands up? Most of these roads are new(er) to me so the pace will be pretty tame and for those who know the roads feel free lead at a faster pace. We can also grab lunch somewhere along the way where ever looks good as well. This is kind of a rough plan but as of now that's the route I'm planning unless others have a different suggestion.
  9. There's a sticky in this section that should help. http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/16134-typical-track-day-qa/
  10. When you ride everyday is it just commuting or are you out riding good roads? Commuting can take the fun out of the bike and make you feel bored with it, along with the fact that if it's commuting then I can see why cages are scaring you, that's basically your whole ride. That is the reason I don't commute very often on my bike anymore. Why not take a day and just go ride some great roads without worrying too much about what time it is or where you're really getting to? It just sounds like you're not riding the right roads and aren't comfortable riding around town. It's not about how often you ride but how enjoyable it is when you do get out. Tag along on some of these group rides through southern ohio and enjoy the roads and the people you're riding with and see if that changes your mind. If not, maybe it's just not for you. But it's amazing how being out riding for 8+ hours can relax you and make you want to go back out and do it again.
