How hard and expensive would it be to change that out?

I would like to get into something like this. What kind of costs are involved with a project like this?

Most of it is stuff you can fab up on your own, or exhisting parts that can just be painted. I would recommend buying something that is running first, then you can modify it from there.

Costs arent too bad, unless you are going to go on a fullscale rebuild, because harley parts are not cheap. The same result can be had with jap bikes, but i feel like it cheapens the experience..

the rusted hood thing is a fad. tons of people on the VW scene do it, and there is one guy on bimmerforums.com who has a rusted hood on his older 5 series.

he gets mad shit for it all the time.
