    screw my boss

Can I have your kidneys when you are done with them? Nevermind.
  2. Or perhaps they did and they are OK with it. Either way, who cares? Shame on you for calling attention to them. No one put a gun to your head and made you go to another website to view them. You actually sought those photos out and are now suggesting (passively of course) that others go and look at them. If you really don't want Brandon to come to this forum and make posts then why are you enabling him? If you don't have anything nice to say... I have met maybe a handful of people from both sites and everyone seemed really nice in person. A much larger percentage (myself included, I'm sure) seem like real @$$holes online. Perhaps it is time for everyone to let it go? As I said before, I really don't care about all this. I showed up here looking for people to ride motorcycles with. From what I have seen, however, both sites enjoy the drama in some weird way so have a fit. Do what you do.
  3. This probably could have been worded better. Seriously. This probably could have been left out all together. No lady wants to hear that about their body, wouldn't you agree? I actually have no dog in this whole OR/AFJ "Westside Story" thing you guys have going but it seems like that is the type of post that perpetuates the drama. I'm looking for people to ride motorcycles with. Somebody wake me up or shoot me a message when the riding and eating yummy food begins. Peace.
  4. Looks like a fun accessory for the garage but I have to point out, these two things do not go together. Either it's real... or it's lightweight. GLWS
  5. HAHA, I should clarify. I'm originally from KY so when I say 90+ days, I mean degrees not days of riding. I have always been used to year-round riding so when I saw Ohio start salting the roads in October, it was a shock. The leather jacket I have is perforated. It's a great jacket but anything above 80 degrees and you are going to leave sweat puddles on the ground if you stop at a stoplight. I definitely would rather sweat than bleed but showing up to work soaking wet with sweat is not fun. The new textiles are a good alternative.
  6. I wore a Joe Rocket textile (Rasp I think) jacket years ago and was pretty happy with how it lasted. I switched to a full leather jacket for the past 5 years and this year finally decided to get another textile for better ventilation and less weight. Like you, I still wanted something that would protect well but hopefully not weigh so much. I was never a fan of mesh jackets but recently bought a Joe Rocket jacket that is a mesh/textile blend and I have been really impressed. It has full armor with textile on the sleeves, top of the front, and part of the back with mesh panels on the front and some of the back. I know the mesh is not going to protect as well as my race leathers or the full leather jacket but it seems like a well thought out design. Plus it was on clearance (last year's style) so it will be good to have for those 90+ days.
  7. Remind me not to let you and my wife ever meet. I feel like you two would get along too well.
  8. Since the OP only expressed it was a "landing map", my reference to Mac was due to him being the commander of the the Southwest Pacific and his policy of "island hopping" at the time. I'm sure you'll pardon my lack of specificity. Again, without some notable signature, the appraisal will probably cost more than what the document is worth. Just my .02 I agree with this completely. It is unlikely that a museum would pay for the document but they would gladly give you an assessment of its value and offer you a donation receipt - which would not require an appraisal because they do all of that in-house. If you decide to go that route, shoot me a PM. I have some contacts at various museums and archives you could talk to.
  9. I do a lot of research with WWI diaries right now. The value is mostly in their connection to the family. Now, if the map has MacArthur's signature, it would be worth contacting the National Archives or a Museum. Appraisals are really only good for insurance purposes. With memorabilia, for the most part, something is worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. Often the appraisal costs more than what the item is "worth".
  10. My wife's bikes are her responsibility. She is quite capable of doing most of the work herself. More often than not, however, we work on the bikes together. That being said, when I go to check the slack on the chain on my bikes, do you REALLY think I don't check her two bikes? Also, I may or may not have checked brake, oil, and radiator fluid levels on occasion. There are so many things that can go wrong on the road, we try to watch out for each other.

Yeah, it's a solid setup. I end up using them a lot more than I thought I would.
  12. I put one of those on the truck last year. Had to take it off because people were taking pictures with their phones while driving. I was afraid I would cause a wreck.

I'm just happy someone else is old enough to even know who Peter Egan is. These kids today and their fancy fuel injection. Back in my day...

Glad to be here. Just a basic Nelson Rigg setup. The 2007 ZX6R has an undertail exhaust so that helps with hooking it up fast. The same set fits the R6 (with some adjustments) and the old style Ninja250 too. Oh, and it has been tested to carry a 12 pack in each of the saddle bags and a case in the top bag. Great grocery getter
  15. I would definitely take a couple of "Watch Out For Motorcycles" Decals. Would even throw in a few $$ for them. Let me know.

Yessir. Same bike. Different pipes and front suspension (supposedly taller and stronger springs for dual sport use).

It is! Until you need to stop quickly. Disc brake conversion is going to happen if I don't sell it first haha.

I suppose since I have posted on this forum, I should now introduce myself. I'm originally from Kentucky (also known as Alabama to those of you north of Dayton) and moved just north of Cincinnati the year before last. I've been riding motorcycles since about the time those hippies at UCLA first transmitted pictures of cats to each other via tubes. You can use the Google box if you need exact dates. I enjoy trackdays. Have not tried racing yet but I'm thinking about it. Mostly, I just wander around on the streets and backroads trying to find out where I'm going. I don't ride too crazy on public roads anymore but can still put a puck down in a corner (and bring it back up) if need be. Right now, I have a ZX6R and a 1972 Honda that is more like something out of a Hunter S. Thompson story than I would like to admit. Ask me how much I like drum brakes from the early industrial age. My wife decided not to be a backpack anymore and now she has a couple of bikes of her own. An older Ninja 250 and a newer R6. We still have lots of good friends in Kentucky and miss the good twisty roads that are almost devoid of traffic - save the occasional tractor or misplaced cow - and are always looking for good roads and good people to wander around with on them up here. No thread is complete without pics so here they are. ZX6R touring edition: 1972 Honda: Obligatory Deals Gap photos: The Track: Oh, and a self portrait (sorry ladies, I'm spoken for):
  19. Last RF 1000 I sent them, they shipped it back with the test report and said it was fine. It's been a few years though.
  20. Nothing. All you have to do is ship it to them. It cost me about $20 via USPS last time I sent one. They even pay to ship it back and will include a report about the helmet. But they will only do inspections on their own brand. They will not inspect other brands.
