  1. I liked 89. Scenic is definitely the right word for it. Pretty cool. Unlike you and your brother taking pictures of me in bed...

    Squid time!

I rode a little bit through high shool and college . Fast forward 10 years and I purchace a new dual sport Triumph. The paperwork took forever and by the time I left it was just about dark with just the finance guy, the salesmen (Parks Cycle, Tommy Mac), and I at the dealership. I had my temp but had not taken the MSF yet. So no getting caught riding after dark. The salesmen tried to talk me out of riding it home until I took my class (that coming weekend). *fuck that* I thought to myself. As I was leaving the dealer I took a very wide left turn on my new ride as I relaized I had forgotten how to turn at low speed. I rode into the parking lot across the street. I thought about stopping and backing up as the only option in front of me was through the gress... hell with it. Went through the grass and back out onto the street. Little did I know the salesman saw the whole thing. He still gives me a good natured rub everytime I bump into him. I told him I was testing out the dual sport suspension and we both got a good laugh out of it.
  3. Ha. I had passed that car about 10 miniutes prior. I stopped at an overlook because I thought I saw some of our group there. Once I got back on the road I came across him again. I felt like a dick passing him on the double yellow twice in 10 minutes so I was just hanging back. Until you came up on me there was no one behind me so I was not worried about it. They turned off about a mile later. I did mutter *crazy fucker* to myself as you scooted around on the outside of a semi blind turn.
  4. TurnOne bitch passing me... http://youtu.be/97fE81cxrKM
  5. I had it in the waterproof case (it did get pretty wet later in the day). It's like a plastic bubble and everything echos. Then strap it that close to the engine... Live and learn!
  6. Nothing fancy. First GoPro attempt from the bike...
  7. Pretty sure you out Jägerbombed everyone. Soooo extra points there.

  9. Bowdog, here you go. Check the pictures to the right for more of you. Left for some others in our group. http://xtremesportsphotography.photoreflect.com/store/Orderpage.aspx?pi=0QAK01EU030413&po=413&pc=483
  10. Sometimes the parking lots can be more hazardous then roads. Watch for loose gravel or large cracks before you zip around much. If you feel safe at low speeds, I liked neighborhoods with a lot of stop and goes when I was learning. Get a feel for your clutch, first and second gear, practice down shifting when coming to a stop. Practice stopping completely and don't roll the stop signs (you'll ignore this later...). Read up on riding tips and practice those on every turn, stop, start, keep your eyes up (looking out for cars and kids...), etc. If you can find a road with good visibility (ahead and behind) you can practice emergency stops (heard breaking without locking up your tires). Start slow, move your speed up gradually until you're comfortable hitting the brakes hard at freeway speeds (build up to this, it can be a bit scary). Always make sure there is no one behind you first! My 2 cents...
  11. Take it easy there ladies. I'm sure everyone is pretty in their own way... Not that I am opposed to a cat fight...
  12. So this turned out to be a good catch. I did some digging and asking around. The stock tires (Pirelli Scorpion Trail) are considered a 90/10 (road/trail) tire. A few people had tried mixing RP3's (or other tires) with the Scorpion Trail front and said they did not feel and quickly switched out the front tire also. In my case, the front tire is fine and I am not going to dump the cash to replace it. Hell, I kept up well enough with the sport bike guys last time out. And I am sure I was slowing the bike down, not the other way around. So, I'll just replace the Scorpion on the rear with the same tire and revisit the RP3's when I need to replace the tires all around. Thanks to all for the good advice. Dre

I forgot all about that chick. You're never going to see that hoodie again. She had no idea what planet she was on, much less what her home number was to call for a ride. I forgot about her mom coming to pick her up (or meeting her half way). That cracks me up. I think she's a collector. Your brothers shoes and your hoodie. She has this alter in her room with candles, chicken feet, and alcohol infused blood from hill climb virgins that she uses with her voodoo dolls. She was telling me about it. That is where you will find the hoodie and shoes. Good luck with that.

Uh, I have no further comments on the subject, and very possible.
  16. Excellent! I'll check him out for sure. Thank you!
  17. Both prices are on the bike. And pries are each tire. The lower price is if I buy the new tire from them. The higher prices is if I bring in tires I buy from someone else. So $125 to have 2 tires that I purchase from them mounted, balanced, and installed. $170 for mounted, balanced, and installed if I bring in the tires. Northern Ohio in Akron will do the same work for half that. Sounds like it's time to switch shops.
  18. What do you guys pay to have tires installed? The dealer I purchased the bike from (Park Cycle in Canton) wants $62.50 each tire. $85 each if I do not buy the tires from them. That's about double what I expected. Anyone have any suggestions on shops in the Alliance (Canton, Akron, etc) area they trust?

Good to meet both you and Tim. Too bad we could not win a game a pool to save our lives. Then again, it would of helped if I could have seen the other end of the table. That chick was a good shot and sober. Damn cheater.

I did not snag any shots of that. I figured with all the shots and video everyone else took there would be enough to go around. Those little kids were awesome!
  21. I just washed my bike after a weekend of riding and I found a screw dead center in the rear tire. The tire has about 3000 miles on it and lots of tread left, and while I'm comfortable with a patch on a people mover, I am not comfortable riding a motorcycle on a plug or patch. So, time for a new rear tire. After some research I am leaning towards Michelin Pilot Road 3 ($163, free ship) or Dunlop RoadSmart II ($178. free ship) tires. I've always used Michelin's on my cars and have been very happy with them so I am leaning (pun intended) in that direction. Any comments either way?
