  1. Ohio American Legion Riders Ride and Grab Game Is a modified version of capture the flag

The tags started out as sets of dog tags but now most post have other unique Items attached to them so they can better identify their posts tags when hanging on the wall, ours have a 5 inch Muskie lures attached to them

    A few simple rules

A minimum of 2 ALR patched rider from the same post on Motorcycles can only take or retrieve tags

You can only take a tags belonging to the post you are at or a tag belonging to your post if they have one.

You cannot take tags belonging to any other posts

You can only take 2 tags per day.

You can only have one tag from each post hanging on your wall.  (If you already have one you cannot take another. )

The object of the game is to get as many of the other posts tags hanging on your wall as you can we currently have 18 sets of tags on our wall (Bragging wall)

Now let me address to statement about drinking.  If a member of the ALR becomes drunk during any ride he or she must leave the ride and one of your riding buddies will have to stay behind with you until you are sober enough to get home If this happens again you can be banned from further rides The safety of your fellow riders is yours and every other riders responsibility.  We take that very seriously

In the 20 to 25 rides I do every year riding with various ALR posts in the last 5 years we have had O ZERO accidents how many riders have crashed on rides organized by Ohio riders in the last 5 years.

90% of the riders In the ALR are Veterans. If you are a vet and might be interested in joining come to some of the open rides at your local Legion post.  Believe me no one cares what you are riding.

If you would like more information PM me.

Fill your bars with shot so they don't vibrate, or at least vibrate at a different rpm.

This works best with lead shot fill 1/2 way and then put silicone in each end and push it down to the shot to hold it in place If your hand are getting tingly and numb this will help.

  3. SQUIDS This term is used by Harley riders for new riders on crotch rockets. Squids  = Squirrely Kids.  Think of what a squirrel  looks like when crossing a busy 4 lane highway  darting all over. Sometimes they make it Sometimes they don’t.

Ok......I want my bike back now............

    The trade off

Metrics break down less often but sometimes take weeks to get the parts in for the repair. With Harleys 99% of the time you will get your bike back the same day or at least the next. My 2012 Harley has over 40,000 miles and has spent less then 3 days total in the shop for repairs. Hope you back to riding.

  5. 11 STATES AGREE To Implement And Enforce MOTORCYCLE CURFEW!

The U.S Department of Transportation who admittedly placed pressure on state representatives to implement the ordinance within their respective states are hopeful that representatives across the country will take notice and agree to implement and enforce the curfew within their states by late 2016. According to U.S Department Transportation representative Donald McCarthy, the ordinance was born out of a necessity. According to statistics published on the U.D.O.T website, approximately 7,342  motorcyclist fatalities occurred across the country throughout 2015. This is an almost 20% increase to the 6,120 fatalities reported in 2015. The statistics found on the U.D.O.T website indicate that roughly 47% of motorcyclist fatalities in both 2014 and 2015 reportedly occurred during the hours of 10:30 PM – 4:45 AM. Representatives from the 11 states that have agreed to the ordinance(South Dakota, Florida, Washington, Arkansas, California, New Hampshire, Indiana, Nevada, South Carolina, Utah, & Kentucky), have said that their states will be implementing the ordinance as soon as early April 2016 and expect all motorcyclists to be in compliance immediately upon implementation. All states have agreed to implement the ordinance by July 3rd 2016.

The penalties motorcyclists will accrue for non-compliance of the ordinance may vary slightly from state to state, however most state representatives have indicated they will be following the below recommendations provided by the U.S Department of Transportation.

     First Offense: $100 Penalty

Second Offense: $250 Penalty & Vehicle Impounded

Third Offense: $500 Penalty, Vehicle Impounded, 90-day Motorcycle License Suspension.

Fourth Offense: $1,000 Penalty, Vehicle Impounded, 182-day Motorcycle License Suspension

The U.S Department of Transportation is hopeful that the ordinance will drastically reduce the amount of motorcyclist fatalities in 2016, however the ordinance is seen as an inconvenience to many motorcycle owners. The most common concern voiced by motorcyclists within the impacted states is simple- they are responsible citizens who practice motorcycle safety and they don’t want the government to dictate their transportation decisions. Additional concerns include citizens who rely upon a motorcycle as their primary means of transportation to and from work within the hours of 11:00 PM – 6:00 AM and the multiple motorcycle rallies that will be impacted.
