  1. Sorry about that (little tight to be running inside that trailer, even on foot!lol!) I guess I don't have enough posts yet to be able and fix it, by removing that link, & inserting the 2012 link Bill posted for me.....so if Casper or someone could edit that link, I'd appreciate it, thanks in advance! Need to add SUNDAY OCTOBER 26th to the original thread also.
  2. Thanks for the correction to the links, Bubba! Those are the right ones! Whoever owns that trailer (no affiliation) ought to have it sold by now, with the accidental posts I made about it. Wow, brain fart for sure!
  3. Somehow after doing this ride in 2011 & 12, I dropped the ball in 2013 and didn't post this (and I just checked my ride log and saw I rode on Oct 20th last year with Mike & Kelly Bowling on the route roads, so why I didn't?...I don't know?)??? So if the predicted weather for Sunday (I know, gonna have to wait to get closer later in the week) is on the money, with mid 40 low & mid 60's high, then LET'S DO THIS!!! And hopefully, as the title suggests, we can get some LEGENDS to come out and ride with us, you know, like they did in the previous years...... see photos and read the report here..... http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/4722673048.html Included in the LEGENDS reference would be the roads on this route (a lot of the same ones in the 2013 edition), plus the same lunch stop at the Red Carpet Restaurant with their “legendary” burgers! Gonna keep the route and times close to how it was in '13, cause if it ain't broke, then there's no reason to change it much. Gonna be a fun, twisty, “legendary” route, with a great lunch.....what's not to like! Never know if this is gonna be the last pleasant weakend or not around here, especially once we get into November! LET'S RIDE! START LOCATION: Steak N' Shake 450 Mount Zion Road Florence, Ky. (I-75 south exit 178, turn left off the ramp on Mount Zion Rd, it's on the left, with a gas station next door). START TIME: 10:00....kickstands up by 10:10....please show up early to get gas at one of the nearby stations, so we can start on time. I'll be there between 9:30-9:40 to answer any route, fuel, or time restriction questions. LUNCH: Red Carpet Restaurant 401 S Main St, Williamstown, KY. Between 12:00-1:00 is aprox time (so as usual, this give those that might not be able to make the start time & location a chance to join us here, then ride the great west-side roads in the afternoon with the group). Pace is always adjusted to group size & experience, and we always wait at intersections till the tail arrives & knows direction we're heading. Will probably be a mix of all kinds of makes & models of bikes. There will be breaks & gas stops, and chances to split off early if needed, for those that have time restraints. Everyone that rides the route till the finish should still have time to make it home for supper before dark. This ride will be posted on multiple websites, and hopefully riders from all around the tri-state area will choose to join us on this 3rd edition of the “Legends of the Fall Ride”. Hope to see you there! ps....the leaves have got the pretty colors now, but fallin' off the trees fast” lol!
  4. Got my winter duds layed out as well, and plan on being at Micky D's at 10:00. Looking forward to another backwoods romp in my neighborhood with Billy The Goatherder! See ya' there!
  5. I-75 exit 129 at Lake City, Tn http://www.devilstriangletn.com/
  6. bump!...for those in the Dayton/Cincy or south east Ohio area that might like to explore 40 of Northern Kentucky's nice twistys. Weather temps look good! Come join us if you can. Meet some new riders, eat a great lunch, ride some new-to-you roads!
  7. Time for the 2nd Annual Dice'n & Slice'n Marathon Ride! Total distance of this twisty road route will be 300 miles! ....and that does not include your mileage from your house to the start, or your return mileage back home...so calculate that in. It's a full day of rockin' the backwoods! Many interested responses last year about this ride, but the weather turned out to be less than perfect (30-40 degree temps). Only 3 of us made the entire distance. Forecast looks much better so far. This ride is open to all type of bikes & is being posted on multiple websites. Route will consist of 300 miles of some of the best curvy roads in northern Ky, east & west of I-75, & I'm sure you might be on some for the first time! Date : Saturday April 12th Start location : AA Hwy Speedway Wilder, Ky. (Gloria Terrell Drive ) Meet up time : 8:30...fuel up by 8:45. Kickstands up : 9:00-9:15 at the latest.....we need to depart on time! Break stops will be planned at certain points in the route. Fuel stops will be about 100-120 miles apart. Lunch location : Williamstown, Ky.....time : when we get there (probably between 12:00-1:00) (Red Carpet Restaurant with a reserved area for the group) In case of large turnout : we will form a 2nd group with a staggered start if needed. Route map : I will have printed copies of the entire route for everyone that wants one. End location : Rabbit Hash, Ky. (see me if directions needed from there) End time : shooting for 6:00 at the latest if we don't get behind schedule Pace : Ride to YOUR skill level only *discussed before we depart. We wait at all stops & turns till everyone's together before proceeding. In case of bad weather on the 12th, Sat the 19th will be the rain date, and I'll post that on this thread by Friday the 11th at the latest. Plan on cooler temps to start, so gear up accordingly. Weather temps look great so far, but could always change. Please arrive early & have a full tank & empty bladder by 9:00. I know this is a very early start time, but with breaks, lunch, possible traffic delays, & 300 miles to cover to reach the Hash by 6:00, we have to depart this early. For those that don't know me, I've led 100's of group rides locally & across the Midwest & South. My pace for a ride is always adapted to the size & skill level of the group. Any questions or requests for more info, please post here in this thread, or you can contact me via private message. *For some added incentive for those that might like to join in but have time restraints, & might want to leave early or start later...... First leg of this ride is 120 miles, with a break, then fuel & Lunch in Williamstown.(12:00-1:00 - you could leave or start here) Second leg is 110 miles, with a break, & fuel in Falmouth.(maybe 4:00-4:30-if on schedule - you could leave for home from here) 230 miles so far. Third leg is 73 miles to the finish at Rabbit Hash. (6:00) 303 miles. Scalded Hog food trailer should be open if you want to eat dinner there. Hope this is enough notice so you can mark this on your calendar as a not-to-be-missed-300 mile-rockin'ride! Just thought I'd post this here also, since there are quite a few Cincy area riders here that might want to join us.
  8. Eddie (dirt road) on the FZ1OA website. Send him any seat with the oem pan & he'll fix it right up! Check the thread there under vendors titled "more seats"
  9. I'm guessing maybe about 6 hours only of actual riding time with 4 breaks for fuel & restroom at 30 min each, plus min 1 hour for lunch....so maybe 50 mph average on lots of 35 mph type roads at times....I'd take that! We do like to socialize some when we ain't terrorizin' the country folk down here in Kentucky ya know! lol! DUEL?...smooth bore pistols or swords? lol! Rough crowd here! lol!
  10. Thanks for the welcome guys! Hope to meet some of you out & about this year!
  11. This is the description of what a REAL motorcycle marathon is all about..... http://www.motomarathon.com/criteria.html So I thought maybe a mini type version of 300 miles of riding one curvy road after another in 9 hours might just be a fun ride to start off the season, but I guess you Columbus lads travel out to Hocking Hills every weekend, huh? (love it out there myself!) You come hang with me on the Fazer for this ride (I'm 59 years old & 100 lbs. over weight), and I'll be impressed if you aren't eatin' tylenol capsules like candy the next day from being wore out!lol! At the very least you'll maybe meet some new riders & experience some new roads. Maybe I should of just said it was one of my usual Saturday rides I like to do monthly that I thought I'd invite others to join me on. lol! Bubba & Bitani knows what it's gonna be like! ha!ha!ha!

  18. My name is Rob, but everyone knows me as "Dice". I'm a retired 30 year truck driver. Married 36 years, with 4 sons, & 7 grand kids. I raced motocross dirt bikes in the 70's, ex professional bass fisherman & tennis player in the 80's, along with coaching little league baseball & playing softball & basketball leagues. I recently purchased a 2008 Yamaha FZ1, after rockin' a '94 Honda Pacific Coast for 50k miles in the last 3 years. I already know & ride with some of the members here from around the Cincinnati area. I am a member on lots of motorcycle websites, & being retired, am fortunate enough to be able to ride with many different groups. I have a scheduled ride that I'll be posting here (plus on other sites also) that I hope you might consider joining me on. Looking forward to meeting many new riding friends in the coming season.
