  1. Great seeing you guys again, Jason & Jen! Glad you made it down to sample some of our N Ky twisties. Bubba did pick some of the good ones on the east side of 75 (great route dude!), so now you can come back to enjoy the west side slew of curves, which are some of my favorites. Felt good getting back out there flogging ol' "Diceburg" again! Even though I'll be down in Tennessee next year in the new house, I'll still try to get back up here to ride the great roads of N Ky when I can. Always looking forward to new riding adventures, and good times with great riding friends!
  2. Thanks, Scuba, Hellmut, & all ! I do have an interested party that is maybe coming tomorrow to take a look, so I'll post an update if it's still available or not.
  3. Need gone. Price reduction to $3600....make offer.
  4. Bump........this is now listed on Craigslist & Cycle Trader.
  5. Naaaah....just trying to recoup expenses from buying the Burgman (3500), paying IRS (1000), and tires for my car & wifey's car too ($1800). As you can see, I'm gonna come up short as it is.....needing the dough!
  6. Thanks! I tried to post pics, but they may have been too big. http://localriders.com/forums/showthread.php?p=169742#post169742 https://www.facebook.com/rob.giles.18
  7. 2008 Yamaha FZ1 Granite Gray/Gold edition. This has all the specs & info for a stock model......... http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2008models/2008models-Yamaha-FZ1.htm Mine has many upgrades, plus you get the stock parts also, plus extras. If you like the factory gold forks & wheels, you'll like the many gold extras of..... radiator cover, bar ends, levers, chain, seat piping, & Yamaha logos (which are usually silver). Custom seat, Yoshi exhaust, Power Commander, Graves Velocity Stacks, wrapped headers, Yamaha Touring windshield, Carbon Axio tailbag, Carbon sliders & tank pad, 12v outlet on fairing, GPS ball mount on bar with case, LED Integrated tailight/turn signals/plate frame, custom front turn signals, tank bag, helmet & bag locks & cord, racing grips with Crampbuster, highway pegs, newer sprocket & chain, plus HH brake pads, 1" rear lowering link & 10mm lower in front (quicker turn in), Pirelli Angel GT tires, & always used full synthetic motorcycle oil. Dyno'd at almost 140 hp at rear wheel/164 mph/100 lbs torque at redline (I have the documentation). I'm the second owner (from 3/13) first was a salesman at a bike dealership. Always garaged, but has been ridden - currently 29K miles, & does have a few scratches (have colorite touch up pens, granite gray, & gold). Best sport touring bike I've ever owned. Was asking $4400, but since it'll need tires this season (and that's all it will need), price is $4000 firm. Reason I'm selling is I bought a Burgman 650 & I turn 62 yrs old this year. You can reach me in Union, Ky. (20 mi south of Cincinnati) @ Rob "Dice" Giles...home # 8five9-five34-083five. Leave message & I'll call you back. No test rides without MC endorsement & me following you. Cash only transaction at my bank (5th/3rd - 3 miles away), where clean title will be notorized. Check my Facebook home page (Rob Giles) under photos and albums for pics, or go to localriders.com where a couple of pics are posted there. They are too large for here.
  8. Hey Chuck, it's "Dice" here, one of the original "Free Riders" also, your "Ride Captain" extroidanaire! Small world out there! Glad you're back in the area again! I'm living in Union, Ky next to Florence now, down where we have 300 mile routes of some of the best roads northern Kentucky has to offer. Was just up the road from you a couple of months ago in Morrow, Oh buying a 2006 Burgman 650 Executive Maxi Scooter that I hope to put some miles on this year. Don't see many of the old club members anymore, unless I run into them down at Rabbit Hash on a weekend. Groups are having multiple benefit rides to help rebuild the burned down General Store this month (1st was yesterday), so it's been so crowded I've been riding away from that area lately. Another big ride again next Sat. If you'd like to get together sometime, I'm retired, and mostly free to ride whenever, so let me know. We ride a lot on Thursdays (this week's weather looks great for that), where we ride the back roads, get some lunch, and enjoy the less crowded routes. We also do yearly trips that include the best roads from here to W Va, Va, Tn, NC, Ga, where we have lots of great routes we ride daily once we get down there. Sat & Sun works too, if that's your only free riding days, but I sometimes have family commitments (happens with 10 grand kids lol!) on weekends at times. Would be great to hook up and reminisce about the club days with you, so give me a shout. Send me a private message with your phone number & I'll give you a call.
  9. Hey Dean...welcome! Give me a shout anytime if you'd like to hook up and explore the great roads here in Northern Kentucky. I'm free during the week, and sometimes weekends too....just give me a day or two notice on when you're free to ride, and we'll make it happen. Call me at 8five9-five34-083five.
  10. I want to thank everyone for a great day of rockin' the backwoods! Started with 12 bikes, 2 split off at 356 & 27, 4 split at the Shell in Williamstown, 1 split at the restaurant, but we added 3 there, 1 split at the Shell in Falmouth, but we added 3 more there.....leaving (I think) 10 to make the finish at Rabbit Hash. Want to thank Greg for sweeping, & Bill for leading some. Hottest day of 2015, and the average pace matched the temp, & even a little hotter at times....I know that for sure, cause my rear tire is toast (cord showing)!!! Got blocked a couple of times by slow cagers, but really very little for as many miles that we logged (I got 335)....so pretty much a lot of wide open, traffic free stretches of some of the best twisties northern Ky has to offer! I second Bubba's sentiment about the safe, accident free, riding of the entire group all day, especially with the less than perfect road conditions at times, plus new roads to some.....super job by all! Only one pucker moment when a pickup pulling a trailer left turned into a side road in front of us, but the trailer didn't clear our lane in time. Luckily there was no one coming in the other lane, cause it would have left us with nowhere to swerve around. Great weather, great food, great curvy roads, & a great group of rider friends to share it with! Couldn't ask for a better day! Hope to get some new tires and get back out there Dice'n & Slice'n again in a couple of weeks. See ya' soon, & keep it safe everyone!
  11. Cincy peeps, I hope you'll ride south and join us! If 8:30 is too early, then get to Williamstown at noon....cause the best roads are after lunch! Let's ride!
  12. The weather channel says 76/59 sunny 0% rain. MSN weather says 76/54 mostly clear 0% rain. Weather Underground says 76/59 clear 0% rain. Accuweather says 76/58 clouds & sun, no rain. WCPO weather says74/55 partly cloudy 10% rain. Unless this majority forecast goes to hell in a hand basket by late Friday, then this ride is officially all systems go.....ON! Looking forward to a good turnout! Hope to see ya' there!
  13. Bump for this Saturday! Will update again in a couple of days if the good weather report goes to pot, cause right now everything's a go.
  14. Welcome, Frank! I'm only 20 miles south of you in Northern Kentucky, and all of my Cincy buddies head south to ride the great twisties down here. Check out my ride post for this Sat the 18th. Come join us to meet some new riders & explore some new roads. I'm retired, so contact me anytime if you're looking for someone to ride with that can show you the best roads...week days or weekends.
  15. Time for the 3rd Annual Dice'n & Slice'n Marathon Ride! Date : Saturday April 18th Start location : AA Hwy Speedway Wilder, Ky. (Gloria Terrell Drive ) Meet up time : 8:30...fuel up by 8:45. Kickstands up : 9:00-9:15 at the latest.....we need to depart on time! Break stops will be planned at certain points in the route. Fuel stops will be about 100-120 miles apart. Lunch location : Williamstown, Ky.....time : between 12:00-1:00 (Red Carpet Restaurant with a reserved area for the group) Route will include some of the best curvy roads in Northern Ky, east & west of I-75. This ride is open to all type of bikes & is being posted on multiple websites. Pace : Ride to YOUR skill level only *discussed before we depart. We wait at all stops & turns till everyone's together before proceeding. In case of large turnout : we will form a 2nd group with a staggered start if needed. I will have printed copies of the entire route for everyone that wants one. Plan on cooler temps to start, so gear up accordingly. Please arrive early & have a full tank & empty bladder by 9:00. I know this is a very early start time, but with breaks, lunch, possible traffic delays, & 300 miles to cover to reach the Hash by 6:00, we have to depart this early. (*or you can maybe catch us at Willow by 10:00 when we stop for a brief break). *For those that might like to join in but have time restraints, & might want to start later or leave early...... First leg of this ride is 120 miles, with a break, then fuel & Lunch in Williamstown.(12:00-1:00 - you could leave or start here) Second leg is 110 miles (my favorite section), with a break, & fuel in Falmouth (maybe 4:00-4:30 if on schedule - you could leave for home from here) 230 miles so far.....last 2 years most riders made it at least this far. Third leg is 73 miles to the finish at Rabbit Hash. (6:00) 303 miles. First year myself, icantdrive55, & Steiny were the only 3 to make it to the finish. Last year it was me, icantdrive55, & Chris Nicoloff. Here's a video that George shot in 2013 of the beginning of the ride from Wilder to Willow......... Here are the links to the 2013 & 2014 ride threads with pictures & reviews................. http://www.localriders.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17414 http://www.localriders.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17790 Posting this early so everyone can make plans accordingly to join us again this year. I will bump & update this when we get closer to the ride date (plus keep a close weather watch also). Rain date will be the next day (Sun 19th) with all times & route info remaining the same. Any questions or requests for more info, please post here in this thread, or you can contact me via private message. I enjoy posting this every spring to kick off the riding season, so I hope you'll come join us to meet some new riders & explore some new roads on this great yearly ride!
  16. Urban, I hope to post up my yearly spring ride sometime in April. I 'll be sure to add a post on here once a date gets picked. Hope it'll work out schedule wise that you and others can join us again this year on our great Kentucky back roads routes.
  17. Had a great time meeting everyone from OR! Good food and conversation at the Little York Tavern! Hopefully we'll get to ride together this year when the weather gods allow. Snot, thanks for putting this together, and congrats on the new bike! Was great seeing you again Tom (Tigerpaw), and I wish the best for you on your service over in the Persian Gulf. Looking forward to some twisty backwoods rides with that ZX-14, Hellmutt, and call me anytime you're wanting to explore some new roads. Same for you too, Chris, & your super moto....Bubba & I have got some Kentucky routes that you'll have a blast on! Nice meeting some new faces, and hope to see & ride with many of you in the coming season!
  18. Congrats on the new toy, Snot! You're gonna have a blast on with it! Enjoy!
  19. Urban, glad you were ok, & just a few bike scratches. Been there done that, but in my case, yep, a few scratches to the bike, but also first time = blown left leg hamstring, second time = broken rib....both on trips, both dropped at a stop. Finding out what your bike limitations are, and how it handles in the tight curvy stuff, is part of the fun in getting out there, but can sometimes bite you. Glad you had a good time, & hope you'll come down and join us again.
  20. First I want to thank everyone for joining me on the 3rd edition of the Legends Ride. Special thanks to Bill for helping out as sweep and goat herder when the flock got seperated amongst the twisties.....folks, it's not an easy task to see everyone in the mirrors while up front with the group spreading out amongst the curves. Always get someone to help you with the ride, or you're going to stay somewhat frazzled worrying if all are accounted for. When Chris missed the left hander on 22 and exited on to Straight Shooter Rd, we all stopped till he got turned around, then did a bike count once we got in to town. Since I had called ahead to the Red Carpet, they had the tables reserved for the group, and did a great job getting all taken care of with the legendary burgers they are famous for. After lunch, the westside roads were a spirited riders dream, with most locals pulling over to let us by, even the old codger in an old Ford Country Squire Woody station wagon finally did after a few miles of wasted good section on 227 heading south towards Stamping Ground. We all fueled up there, but it took a while, cause I swear that every local in the area was there at the same time getting gas. Pace began to amp up even more when we hit 368, 607, & the newly blacktopped 330 (sweet!), then 845, 36 (needs to be resurfaced), & our two favorite smaller, less known route connectors, 1132 & 1942. We stopped for a fuel break again at I-71 near Verona, instead of heading east towards Crittenden, because eveyone left (a few riders split off early) wanted to continue riding to Rabbit Hash (pretty crowded there between 4:30-5:00). Was really great seeing some old familiar faces, & meeting some new ones too. Hope everyone had a good time sampling at least a few of the great roads northern Kentucky has to offer....we are spoiled! I got another 215 miles to add to the 315 miles on Sat riding to the Gorge, so I'm one tired & sore puppy! An addition to the soreness happened after we all left to split off for our respective homes, and I headed to mine in Union via 536. I came up on two monster sized turkey buzzards eating their road kill supper, & once spooked, decided to use me as their launching flight target. The one just missed my helmet, but # 2 hit me straight in the right leg calf (felt like if someone had thrown a basketball real hard at ya') and I guess broke it's neck, cause he was laying there in the street when I looked in my mirrors. Luckily it didn't knock me off the bike, break anything, or do more damage than a slightly sore calf muscle, since it hadn't built up momentum of flight yet. Hate those buzzards! Great day ridin' the backwoods with a great bunch of spirited riders! Had a blast guys!
  21. Time to get some of this! Hope to see you there!
  22. That's great, Tigerpaw! Will be good to see ya' again! Getting a great response so far on the other sites with probables for this ride, so might be a good turnout! Weather forecast still looks good also. Hoping that more from the Dayton & Cincy areas might want to sample some of the twisty northern Kentucky roads on this route. Hope to start on time, cause I have reserved tables at the restaurant for the group already. See ya' at the Florence, Ky start!
