  1. I have the transitions lens. Works great for me. Will fog a bit on a cool morning. Lens gets dark enough for me. If you are riding directly into the sun for extended periods I suppose it could go another 5-10% darker. No tunnels where I ride, but lots of shady hillsides. I don't find myself ever struggling to see while the shield does its thing. Unless you put it on before going outside, you won't even really notice it changing once it darkens. Very glad I have a "Bell" shaped head.

  2. Was down on 555 yesterday riding by myself and had stopped off on a miscellaneous driveway to take a smoke break and figure which route I was going to take to get to Jukebox Pizza in Waterford. Was standing beside my bike with helmet and jacket off looking at my phone when I hear a couple sportbikes approaching at a moderate pace. As I continue to decide how I'm going to proceed, I hear the two bikes begin to slow and downshift as the get near me. At first I thought maybe these folks were ready for a break as well and might have decided to join me when I looked up. Then I notice the lead rider putting his left thumb up...wow, they think I'm cool! Then it hits me: He is "asking" if I'm "good to go", thinking I may have had some trouble and was perhaps trying to raise someone on the phone.

The riders were fully geared, riding nice machines at what sounded to me like a responsible pace. The lead bike was a white supersport, though I didn't make out what make/brand. Second rider was on a Kawi for sure...possibly a naked rendition.

After they had gone on down the road, I became very greatful that they had checked on me. I almost always ride solo, so I don't often get to enjoy the comradery of fellow riders. I don't know if those riders are members here OR, but just wanted to say Thank You.

The weather was spectacular yesterday and I put a modest 150 miles of twisties on the ODO after having to work until noon. 555 is still treacherous, fun, and in need of repairs. Eventually made it to Jukebox and enjoyed their signature Rock n Roll sub, then headed for home.

    Thanks again Riders!

  3. Don't get the front windsheild strip. The "visor" strips stand out to oncoming Leos and are typically below the legal lines on windsheild. Easy for them to see and they know before they pull you that they have an infraction. Been running 30% on a light paint color for almost ten years. No front strip, no problems.

  4. Last I heard Ohio Valley Coal had the biggest piles of coal that folks have ever seen. Meanwhile, Buckingham mining in Glouster was or has been nearly idled. Are we suddenly running out of coal somehow? I'm 15 minutes from Perry and used to ride there frequently when I had a quad. Will be a shame if they close it. If you pull into the parking lot of the old gas station and walk to the rear of the lot you can see active mining 100 yards over the hill. The are supposed to be "reclaiming" the land, but they are still pulling coal out. Other side of the operation is a landfill.

  5. Legal to hunt with suppressors now, not sure if its across the board with all animals and legal calibers or if there are restrictions.  I am sure that ODNR will have some say in the specifics.

An individually owned NFA item may be used by others as long as you are present.  Cannot leave item unattended when others have access to it....considered an illegal transfer.  Grantors and trustees may both have possession of the items contained in the trust.  Again, access to them must be restricted to individuals not in the trust when you are not immediately present.

Have always been told that you have "invited" the carpetbaggers to come kicking your door in to see das papers,  but have been advised that in the case of an nfa item, normal warrants are needed for a door kick.  I believe they reserve the right to enter your listed address for place of business when an SOT status (class III dealer) is attained.  Something about being able to check inventory...didn't read too deep as it doesn't apply to me.

Its really all a big bunch of mess trying to sort out the intricate details of the GCA and NFA regs.  Hopefully, the FBI will take over soon and may run things a little more sensibly.

  6. In my opinion it's probably good. It classifies Internet bandwidth as a utility to prevent Verizon, Comcast, AT&T and others from charging Netflix or whoever they want for equal access to customer-paid bandwidth.

OK. That's the gist of it as I understood. Netflix has to pay for more bandwidth -> I pay more for Netfilx was the situation faced? As a public utility...will there be a "spot price" such as a utility like Nat gas to determine pricing?

  7. Internet theorists have been speculating for a while about this. My advice......buy one FTF and don't worry about it.

Just wondering if talking about the recent SBS incident. I don't own one currently, but a Scorpion or MPX is in the cards soon. I will be employing a brace on either I end up with. Of course in the advent of some new ruling, I guess I will pony up the $200;for a stamp.

  8. very true. I dont' have a problem with that though. I will definitely be getting a proper compensator to help with the concussion direction away from the shooter. I'm around all types of military weaponry all the time, so it really doesn't bother me if it's a little loud.  I always wear double hearing pro. haha

A buddy has one of the Noveske thunder pigs. Works pretty well for throwing most of the noise/blast downrange.
