And I have to piss. And I'm fucking sick of my home being in a constant state of improvement. I'm sick of home depot calling to check on me if I'm not there buying shit for a few days and I'm sick of not having a living room and not having a dining room because all the living room furniture is stacked in the dining room. I'm sick of having to change my sheets every 3 days because the dogs live on the bed because of reasons stated above. I'm fucking sick of painting. I'm sick of my wife buying a $50 gallon of paint, hating the color and buying another $50 gallon of paint to put on top of it.

My only refuge is sitting here in my basement listening to tool and drinking beer.

Just had to get that off my chest.

I know that feeling all too well. We painted the kitchen and adjoining hallway 3 times this year with a couple extra 'sample' colors in there as well.

  2. I used Uship for my track bike from NM to OH. Was around $600 in an enclosed trailer. Couldn't tell you the actual shipping company that did it. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Just read the reviews before picking the shipper.

N2 has something going on almost every weekend once the season starts not sure how they would schedule around it. Plus, Mid-O usually does stuff on Monday/Tuesday? Wouldn't get in the way of a Sat/Sun N2 weekend.

I meant in correlation to PIRC. Those are the only 2 tracks i really make it to (besides Nelsons). Last year, it seemed like every PIRC weekend was followed by Mid-O on Mon/Tues or vice-versa. Since they run usually once a month, would be nice if they were every other week. I know it's not that easy.

  4. I don't know of any shops but i doubt they will give you what you want for it. I would toss it up on our classifieds to start. Plenty of bikers here that may be interested. Another option would be to just call around local bike shops and ask if the are buying. They should be able to give a ballpark figure without you taking it in.

Spirit flys from CLE to LAX for $164 right now

35 hour drive split in 3 days. 2 nights in a hotel. Maybe $40 a night if you're not too picky. 2,300 miles.

    2300 / 20 mpg average = 115 gallons x 2.25$

    $260 gas + $80 lodging + $164 airline + $30 oil change before you leave = $534 to do it yourself.

That would be fine if i trusted the car to make it that far. I'm looking at Datsun 240Z-280Z's. Breaking down in the middle of the desert would surely cost me more than the shipping cost.

When i go to buy my next daily vehicle, i plan on buying down south somewhere and doing the fly/drive deal.

Not quite as good as a CCW but i carry a machete in my car. Within reach of the driver seat.

Also, why aren't your doors locked. His window it up/not broken. So he got out of the car on purpose or his door was unlocked and they pulled him out.

@TimTheAzn this is true, Baxley is worth it, especially if your new track bike doesn't have a kick-stand and you like it to stay upright while you dismount in the paddock.

I mean, you can do the 1-handed-rear-stand dance while trying to balance the bike with your other hand but riding into a wheel chock is so much easier.

Can't run tire warmers while in a Baxley. Ask me how i know :(

  8. From what i read up on when looking for track plastics is that hot bodies are very hit or miss. Some people had no issues, others basically threw them away and bought a better brand. So do some research on your specific bike and see what others have said about the fit. Also, hot bodies are known to explode during a crash. As in they break/crak instead of bending. But for the price, you can replace them and still be cheaper than buying a set of sharkskins.

I ended up with armour body. I haven't crash tested them yet but the fit is good. Looking back i wish i would have spent the extra though and got sharkskins. Drilling the holes were a pain and i had issues getting the windshield in but that was my fault. The sharkskins come predrilled.

Since it is a trackbike, i just used spray paint. It looks good from 10ft away and that all i wanted. Since there is a good chance of it going down at some point, i didn't think a $1,000 paint job was worth it to me. Others love the look of a professionally painted bike.

Just my 2 cents in all this. Good luck in whatever path you choose.

As mentioned in the thread before the thing to do is to stock up on Mid Ohio gift certificates while they are on sale over the winter. In the past you could avoid a late fee by using a gift cert however it was hit or miss this year as to whether or not you could avoid the late fee. Regardless you are still getting a good deal by buying the gift certs.

From what i understood by the end of the year, if you had bought 4+ gift certs, they waived the late fee.
