I'm in, weather permitting. I will wait till like Thursday to buy it. Gotta get bumped to intermediate so I can hang with my peeps again.

Problem I got with bumping to intermediate is the lights and mirrors got to come off. That is too much work and stress at the track. And I got no room for a trailer.

Not sure how much room 'no room' is but the harbor freight trailer folds up pretty small. It fits between my car and back of the garage with room to walk in between still. Once folded up, it's like 18-24" wide. I'd have to double check when i get home. But I've been using it for 5 years and not one issue other than a tire blowing out on the turnpike; I got faster rated tires after that.

  2. Turn 13 at Nelsons. Slower right hand turn. Feels like I'm getting my head off the bike more than this; but apparently I'm not.

So how close am I to running out of lean angle?

Using my handy dandy cad skills at work, i'm roughly at 52 degrees. I guess i still got a little bit further before i should start loosing grip. But i'm close enough where i feel i need to really start working on better body positioning. I can probably get my ass off the seat a bit more but need to make sure my head follows. Also need to get my torso closer to the tank with my head down by the handlebars.

And if they don't ban the filters what's their liability if half the field goes down?

I have no issue with them banning the filters. But they should have sent out a mass message to everyone that was preregistered stating so before morning of tech inspection. Give people a chance to change it out the day before.

I would be super pissed even with a refund. Still wasted my time loading the bike day before, using a vacation day i can't get back, my time and gas driving down and back.

It is what is it is now at this point. Hopefully it'll be a learning point for their communications team.

  4. I'm running the superbikes and i have the same issue. I ran at nelsons on sunday and they wore great. Today at Mid-O and they look just like yours. I feel like i run harder at Mid-O compared to nelsons. I dropped my pressure to 25 thinking it was a cold tear. I really have no answer either. I'm going to increase pressure next time to see what happens.....

Get off the track ASAP, not blow passed the pit and get another hot lap in like someone did.

At least your extra lap guy wasn't the one dumping oil.

At Nelson's on Sunday, someone that was black flagged decided to do another 1 1/2 laps dumping oil around the track. Took 1 hour 40 minutes to clean the track. I and A lost 1 session, N lost 2 sessions.

I still wonder if the guy either didn't see the flag or just ignored it. Guessing he finally stopped when the engine blew up.

Thx LS, I wish I could. But all signs are kinda telling me to sit this one out and prolly I should hehe but very kind of you to offer.

I'm 99% sure i have a spare shift peddle from a 07 daytona 675 that i have no use for. I bent back the peddle on my old street bike and got the spare in case it broke off later at some point. I sold the bike so i don't need it anymore; track bike has aftermarket rearsets. No idea if it's the same or not. If it is, you can have it just to repair your bike (if i can find it).

How does this work? Does everyone usually get there Sunday and spend the night, so they're ready early Monday morning? Tents? Sleep in cars?

I usually drive down in the morning since i'm only hour and twenty minutes from the track. A lot of people that live farther away camp the night before. They allow you to camp in tents or campers in the upper paddock i believe.

My work attire at my office job has transitioned from khakis and button up shirt, to jeans and a polo, and now we are allowed to wear t-shirts. Slowly progressing to shorts, cutoffs and sandals.

Half of our engineers look like homeless people.

We were the same way and then went from casual fridays to casual days. Supposed to be jeans and polos but half of them wear untucked t-shirts. I'd be embarrassed to meet with vendors or even our executives looking like that. It's not just engineering though, all departments have gotten that bad. The worst is hearing women walking around in flip-flops making the smacking noise.

  9. Picked up my mountain bike on thursday and hit the trails on friday. I did the yellow trail that leads into the red trail with the out and back at Royalview. Something like 7.5 miles and i was dead at the end.

That is a completely different animal than road riding. Only mtn biking i did before was in Utah when you ride the chairlift up. But it was a lot of fun, can't wait to get out again.

  10. Thanks for the input everyone. IP got me a good lead i'm following up on.

If that falls through, i'll be on the look again. I really don't have the budget to spend 1k on a bike at the moment. House needs a new front door and my track tires are about shot. Worst case i save up over the winter and buy something new.
