  1. Look here hockey puck, at least my oil pan isn't doesn't need reinforced.
  2. haha good times, think you ride good enough to beat me to 100 on your bike? I'll bet I could ride your bike faster then you can drive my car. :finger:
  3. Been using the basic Innovate LC-1 for a few years without issue, but I don't use their datalogger. For connecting it to a tuner/logging set-up it's awesome.
  4. I have to agree, but without snow it'd sit the rest of the year.
  5. I plan on beating all the mods and admin at the track, not counting bikes. I've already beat most of you, but I'd love to dig race Linn and Smiley Shanton in the VW Dover in the Cobra Howard in the Supra and I'll beat Doc's Bentley off the bottle got a few more tweaks to do, maybe some more spray, but I'll be taking out some weight and maximizing what I already have.
  6. I've really enjoyed watching your car progress. It's cool to see how much goes into all the advancements. Congrats on getting into GMHTP again, saw the pics a couple days ago.

  11. This made me laugh, if you want an LT1 distributor I would strongly suggest just buying a new one. Those go bad more often then most so get one with a warranty, good used ones are almost non-existant. and power and gas mileage out of that big ass car with a V8? I guess that depends on your opinion of power and fuel economy. I'm not sure if those have EEPROMs in them or not, they changed PCM set-ups about that time. I'd think it would need a chip.
  12. Can't you light soemthing on fire where the gas comes out and turn the gas on? I really don't know I've never messed with a gas fireplace, so i guess if it were me I'd have cinged eyebrows or a fire. The above post about a dirty passage sounds very likely if it hasn't been used.
  13. I've seen bad headgaskets that wouldn't show up from a leakdown test, if it's leaking external it doesn't mean that it's hurt the combustion chamber. You quoted my reply to the above know it all where I was disagreeing with his end all be all use of a leak down test. Truth is none of us know what it is because we haven't looked under the car. The picture looks like foamed power steering fluid, but who knows without looking. If we could tell a cars problems by talking about it I'd have bought a chair instead of a toolbox.
  14. Do you just pick someone in a thread to disagree with? Why would you conduct a leakdown test when it's leaking fluid on the ground? I never said it wasn't a head gasket either, just that it sounds unlikely.
  15. Could be blowing back from the front when you're driving causing multiple spots, sounds like you really need to get under there and figure out where it's coming from. You don't think that's power steering fluid do you?
  16. What is that gonna prove in this case? She said it isn't overheating, and the fluids in the car look good. Doesn't even sound like a headgasket unless it's leaking out the edge which again a leakdown test will show nothing. I agree that a leakdown is a good thing when there is an overheating, bad running problem, poor compression or other suspect issues, but not a leak. My first impression is that it's leaking coolant across oily residue, where is the leak coming from? front, back, side? Headgaskets aren't really common on LS1s anyway. Is it low on fluid? How much of this leaking fluid did you find?
  17. That would deff be a good possibility, but I doubt you want my black painted Pacesetters.
  18. By driver's side window I'm assuming you mean the one that rolls up and down and not a peice of fixed quarter glass or something. If it rolls up and down just about anybody can fix it, those are really easy. Anything fixed in place I'd have a professional glass person do.
  19. Benz + Lotus = Bentley, Doc isn't made of money, but I like the upgrade.
  20. Yeah that, and as for headers I think it comes down to cost for me. I'd rather save some $ and give up a few ponies if I was in your shoes, however now that I've gotten this far I wish I'd have sprung for 1 7/8. If you think you'll eventually do anything more then a moderate cam just buy the bigger headers.
  21. I think pinning the balancer is a great idea for a performance application, but if anyone wants to debate this anymore here's the removal and install process as stated by GM's own Service Information.
  22. Having seen all this in person it does look excellent.
  23. This isn't very accurate, while you're right it's not to be hammered on, but pressing it on is the correct way just take the right tool, a harmonic balancer installer or a long bolt to pull it on. No need to heat anything.
