  1. If you're going that route throw the 4L60 out of your car in the trash, I'd also consider finding a t-350 because it sounds like the t-400 would be overkill and rob some power. I don't know as much about making power in the old small blocks as I've researched LS1s which is why I'd go find a used 5.3 longblock and make that 350-400hp on pump gas with modern fuel injection and technology for the same money. Just get a 5.3 engine, trans, PCM, and harness out of a truck then all you need is a car intake and headers. You can find people's stock LS1 parts out of their cars for next to nothing, LS1 intakes, stock k-members, ect. My advice if you're really going to stick with this old SBC idea would be to look at the packages places put together and buy similar parts. I'd buy a Summit brand stroker kit if I were you, plenty of options and since you aren't looking to make much power it'll save you some money and be plenty for 400hp or so.

  6. Seen this shit before, just had a Vette in the shop recently with one coming apart just like that, it threw the belt before it came all the way apart. Problem is anything made out of rubber gets old and high RPMs don't work, I've also seen the crank bolts come loose and pinning the balancer fixes that. If the balancer just starts to spin it will loosen the bolt.
  7. I would put the Royal Purple in it thats for manuals calling for ATF, not sure the exact name but you'll find it. Worked good in other cars I've been involved in.

  9. Camaro already got the spool going together so that weak link is fixed, would really like to put my FAST intake on, get a new nitrous plate for it, some head studs, and a dedicated fuel system. I'll at least be buying some new tires since these drag radials are about worn out

  12. Well now I've met all the goals I've had with the car, 11s on motor, 10s on nitrous. The car still has all the factory options intact (for the most part, ie, radio, A/C, backseat ect), so what do I do with it now? I still love the car, but I also like modding it and I don't feel like there's much more modding to do. I'll always be going out and driving it, taking it to the track from time to time, and keeping up with it, but I feel like at this point there's something missing from my plans, something left to do and I don't know what it is.
  13. Highly doubt you'd need anything special to replace an outer tie rod, however usually it would be the inner tie rod that gets bent and would likely need a special tool. Replace either of them and you really should do an alignment.
  14. Couple movies, CDs, shirt, and the fun of watching my daughter have a blast. I still beleive that Christmas and birthdays are mostly for kids, because watching your child is way more fun.

  16. Just got home from work, what a waste of time. I get paid flat rate off the work I do, I got paid a whole 1.5 hours to stand around till 1, fucking fail.
  17. This is pretty much my opinion, I've had the SLP loudmouth, flowmaster, and Magnaflow all on my car at differnet points. I put the Magnaflow on Wagner's car with no other mods and it wasn't much louder then stock at all, with headers his car has a noticable sound. My car currently has a Magnaflow on it and with a cam and headers it has a nice tone, mildly loud, sounds good when in the gas. SLP wasn't really too loud until I had the headers and cam in it, but at that point it's just ridiculas. I think the Borla on Chad's car sounds good, but not enough to buy it. I think the lid is subjective, didn't notice much, a little more sucking sound. A good difference with more mods. LS1s love a free flowing exhaust so a nice set of longtubes (shorties don't flow more then the manifolds), good y-pipe, and a catback of your choosing will go a long way. At that point short of a tune the car will need something other then basic bolt-ons to make it worth the money spent in my opinion. Tie the frame, it made a huge difference in how well the car feels.

  21. Since it had a LS1 in it what motor mounts, k-member, is in the car? Sorry haven't looked into the LS1 in a foxbody swap much.

  23. If you just replaced the heater core having an air pocket is pretty likely, does it blow warmer if you rev the engine? Have you checked the temp of the heater hoses (with your hands will work)? Possibly a blend door, need to find out some more info to narrow it down.
  24. Anybody have some more info on this audio stream ripper? Where do I get such a program? What would I search for? Computer retard here.
