My wife lived in Vienna for a while and just off of 50 near the bottling facility. I can't recall what drink was bottled there. Make sure you go by the Pizza Place and have a slice for me. I love that pizza.
Welcome. I'm down in the Charleston area. Not sure if this will work but it's worth a shot. https://www.facebook.com/groups/WestVirginiaSportbikeRiders/
Well I unloaded my track bike and loaded my street bike in the trailer. My buddy will be getting here around 8:00 in the morning and we will be heading that way.
Another awesome day on the track with new and not so new friends. It's always nice meeting good people. My morning was rough due to a broken shifter bolt. Luckily for me Mark (Vesrah) helped me out and I was able to do a little "engineering" and got the bike running after wasting the morning sessions fixing it. I then gave up the first afternoon session to have new springs installed in the forks. Apparently riding springs for a 130 pound guy is t the best idea when you weigh 100 pounds more than that. Who knew! The last three sessions were awesome and I had a lot of fun trading positions with some other riders. A huge bonus is that I managed to get two new personal best laps! Here is my new PR. I have been looking for a 1:45 for quite some time.
It was more crowded than I expected but not bad at all. I skipped the first session and went out the second session (intermediate). About three laps in I decided it was way too slick. About that time I realized that I had completely forgotten to check my tire pressure. The third session was quite a bit better but still slickeryish (fancy racing term). I was able to get a knee down but it was sketchy. In the afternoon the track started coming in pretty nice. It wasn't PR nice but it was good. Tomorrow should be great after a couple of slickeryish sessions in the morning.
I've decided to ride both days. I was going to just ride one but there is a good chance this will be my last opportunity to ride this year. There is the appreciation day in October but it's hard to tell what the weather will be like by then.
