  1. The thing about the ORC and Columbus rules that is confusing is the part about explosives. If my "airgun" pushes a pellet with a spring really fast, is that an explosive?  I would argue not.  Since we're a farm, maybe I could get a nuisance permit.

"No person shall discharge or cause to be discharged any firearm, airgun or other instrument used to explode any cartridge or thing filled with any explosive substance or material"

  2. I need to kill some rabbits.  Now.  Little rascals are trying to eat Katie's veggies and we can't have that.  Also I like to eat rabbits.

I live in the city, so I'm curious about pellet guns and their legality and sneakyness level.  Anyone here in the know about such things?

  3. Hey guys, I'm Jacob.  I live in Columbus and own a few motorcycles.  Note I said own, not ride.  *Humor engaged*  Been a wild year and I'm hoping to be a full keyboard warrior once again.

Highlights include (ahem, lame excuses), Katie went full time on the farm on our property, our son Lucas was born, and a major remodel on the house is mostly done.

Dreams for this season: more track time, mini racing with Luke, maybe a street ride or two.

Well, what have y'all been up to??  I have some catching up to do.

Are you going to rebuild it yourself?

Some of it, I'll be getting a lot of help from Jake Brown at The Dyno Shop in Powell.  Once the heads are free, I'll be doing the machine work on them.  If the cam gears need adjusted, I'll do that myself also but I don't know exactly what to do.  That's where I'll rely on his expertise, I can follow directions.

You might notice I'm not riding a Triumph in these pictures.  Gingerly riding a less than 100 mile old GSXR1000.  Weird to still be accelerating past the kink.  Obviously lots of fun to have that much power available (65 more wheel HP on the same dyno).  Thing revs real quick and handles pretty well.  It's set up for a bigger rider so it was stiff.  Lot more work on my wrists, guess I need to think about how I brace myself more.  Didn't want to push it, I can see how with a little more time it would be an absolute monster.  Still love the Daytona, but damn!

Are you going to camp for the weekend?  I think the usual suspects are going and camping again -- @DerekClouser@kbrok@what and me, perhaps @jacobhawkins will attend this year?  I haven't heard anything from anyone about it yet...

Yep, I'll be there this year.  I think @what and I are getting a camp spot.  I'm bringing a trailer with pit bikes and doing another test run for our Watkins Glen trip with the new tow vehicle.

No matter how much I tell her not to drive like her dad and slow down she doesn’t.

Remember the little drive she took in the new wagon?  Sport+ down the on ramp!!  Get on it!  haha  At least she has a dirt bike to learn a little how they handle so if she ever decides to get an ADV or street bike it'll come easier.

Can't find it now, but Katie and I saw a stand up comedian tell a joke about at the minimum teaching your daughter enough about mechanical things to not be impressed by a guy with a V6 Mustang.  The fact that she rides on a CBR1000 pretty regularly should take of that!  Nice work my friend.
