  1. Just got home. 1,060 miles. Actually got up early and left a little before 4am. St Louis traffic sucked and I got lost trying to get to the arch, but other than that, pretty uneventful. The new suit worked great, seat did it's job as well, no sore butt. My neck and shoulders are a different story.
  2. Tomorrow morning I am leaving for my first Iron butt Certification. I will be doing a Saddlesore 1000. Leaving Coolville and going to the Gateway Arch in St Louis, then turning around and coming back. Got all my documentation situated, bike is all ready to go, got my new Aerostich today and took it for a 25 mile test run (Also taking my old gear just in case). Packed some food in the tank bag, got the Camelbak for fluids, and the Garmin for GPS. I think I am ready to go. Now off to get some sleep for me. Leaving at 5am, hoping to avoid the night riding as much as possible. Below is my SPOT tracker page for tomorrow. http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0V7ZlCxzdnSoREZdxDf6nb3yJdkhOAjzn
  3. I really like the section of 26 from 145 to Woodsfield. The section south of 800 is all under construction for a repave until you get close to Marietta and its brand new pavement.
  4. Yeah 536 has the freshest pavement. 556 has a few seasons on it
  5. It's pavement is okay, not the quality of 536 or 556.
  6. Here you go. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/39.4225507,-81.4263925/39.6187442,-81.2339564/39.6319871,-81.3272429/39.7623069,-81.1991256/39.6779066,-80.8850547/39.758888,-80.9577555/39.847121,-81.0263118/@39.73854,-81.6031256,9.46z/data=!4m34!4m33!1m5!3m4!1m2!1d-81.2280162!2d39.5329554!3s0x8849dc6765d70df5:0x21eb671b95742318!1m0!1m10!3m4!1m2!1d-81.4898161!2d39.733691!3s0x88362b6ce9c7f8b1:0xc60572e72da8384d!3m4!1m2!1d-81.3262182!2d39.6719079!3s0x883627ef28f757cd:0xbd0e6d3710fd17a1!1m5!3m4!1m2!1d-81.0934831!2d39.7084689!3s0x88361eb8da920875:0x16e9a0e65ac765a2!1m0!1m5!3m4!1m2!1d-80.8920317!2d39.7996281!3s0x883608afca5af17d:0x3e7464b27eba1a27!1m0!3e0
  7. Saturday is fixin to be my best shot at an iron butt this year. Been procrastinating at doing one for years. I just finished my route with stops and I feel more confident now.
  8. Sold it on ebay.....to a guy from Ohio
  9. Well when I used to go out and meet clients, professional attire was required. I haven't met with a client face to face in 2 years (Digital Producer/Graphic Designer), so I guess that's why they lifted our dress code rules. Sales people still wear shirt and tie.
  10. My work attire at my office job has transitioned from khakis and button up shirt, to jeans and a polo, and now we are allowed to wear t-shirts. Slowly progressing to shorts, cutoffs and sandals.
  11. +1 on this. Sharpsburg hill is one of my favorite sections of road. I ride it almost every week (On my way home from work).
  12. That one can be a rough landing. I may have launched a sport touring bike there...
  13. I haven't seen much change on the scales lately, just stuck around 221 range, trying to break through that 60 lbs lost barrier. My cardio workouts have been getting better though. Finally getting 3 miles under 30 minutes on the treadmill.
  14. Hocking Hills is kinda hit or miss depending on how busy it is in the tourist areas. This route is a little longer, but it has some good riding in it. I can't vouch for the northern loop around Columbus, but taking 56 to Athens, then 329, 550, 377 to McConnelsville is nice. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Marysville,+Ohio/39.3296255,-82.1283826/39.3522145,-81.8818244/39.6450738,-81.893982/Marysville,+Ohio/@39.8262233,-82.9759548,10z/data=!4m19!4m18!1m5!1m1!1s0x8838c4ceac89bba9:0xc6437f210d8aa31a!2m2!1d-83.3671432!2d40.2364486!1m0!1m0!1m0!1m5!1m1!1s0x8838c4ceac89bba9:0xc6437f210d8aa31a!2m2!1d-83.3671432!2d40.2364486!2m1!1b1!3e0
  15. I honestly don't know how you ride with little to no sleep. Fatigue on a motorcycle increases risk factors obviously. Accidents and mistakes happen. It's part of motorcycling. It is good to learn from our mistakes, but don't over analyze it.
  16. The main issue I see with the FZ09 is the tiny fuel tank. Some areas you gotta go more than 100 miles between fuel stops.
  17. I had a tank slap issue on 550 (Sharpsburg Hill). Had the FJR full tilt and caught the front wheel on a pavement patch. Washed out and then caught and bucked like a bull and started slapping. I just pinned it and loaded the suspension to the rear. Also had to chase it all the way across the road. Not a fun time...
  18. Cutting back on the drinks makes the bike trips that much more enjoyable. Gives you something to look forward to.
  19. I've seen some openings in this field in the Athens area. If you wanna work for OU, being alumni always helps.
  20. I have plans to go to an FJR Tech Day the 16th, so the 9th is best for me, but I'd rather go to the Epic Ride.
  21. I have 3 questions for each nights accomodations, cause I know @Connie14 wants to know. 1. Where's the closest liquor store? 2. What time is breakfast? 3. What time does the pool close?
