  1. That's a beautiful bike.
  2. Thanks for sharing your experience. Every time I read 1 of these posts I get more and more determined to make it there.
  3. Sam the only rumbling I hear is coming from your exhaust. Its a Honda and if I remember right it has super low miles (saw your c-list link in a different thread). You have nothing to worry about. I have owned multiple CBRs and never had any issues. I had one with over 30,000 miles and the only time I had it in to be serviced was to sync the carbs. Other than that I just kept the oil changed, chained lubed, and good tires on it. Its never a bad idea to have somebody look it over, but if it were mine I wouldn't. Go ride the thing and enjoy it is my suggestion. Good luck on the rain stopping. My yard is now a duck pond.
  4. Sounds like a good deal to me. That bike blue books at $5900. I just picked up 1 to flip.
  5. I have been using maxima chain wax for a couple of years now and it sucks as far as I am concerned. It flings off typically on first ride, its sticky, dirt and grime cling to it, and it does not keep the chain lubed. I've tried preheating chain leaving it sit over night, all that crap and still no luck. The last couple of times I thought my chain was going and it has less than 3-4k miles on it. It was making a horrible noise. I cleaned it with kerosene as I always do, took it for a preheat run and it was fine. I attribute it to the chain wax holding crap on to it. Made me think of this post and I am now trying wd40 method. Now if it ever stops raining around here i'll test it out and see what I think. I just know I'm done with what I have been using. May go back to Honda's chain lube as somebody mentioned on here, because I did use it back in the day and don't remember any issues. Back then I was young though and not as on tune with my bike, so could have been crap too. I'll see how the wd method works. Thanks for those of you that suggested it.
  6. In my little town its not too bad because the title department and BMV are all in the same building. Once you find the bike you want ask the seller as others have mentioned on here. Hopefully they will have some knowledge of what needs to be done and how to get it done in their town. Good luck.

Glad you sold your bike. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind. Did it sell for your asking price, and did you get paid in cash? Did it sell based on your posting here or elsewhere? I am asking because I have a bike I plan sell to that's worth like $6000. I am concerned that few are going to be able to come up with that kind of cash in my area.
  8. Thanx for sharing all this. Makes me want to make sure I make it to the gap this year. Never been there, but it looks and sounds awesome. So much so that I plan to do it solo if necessary.
  9. I am a high school teacher and often think we need to add a course to the schedule just for common sense. I see crazy things like this from both the students and teachers often.
  10. JC I would luv to make this trip, but I am 3 hrs from your departure. Anyway you could push the departure time back a little? It wud be great to get to know some fellow believer riders. Totally understand if you want to keep your time schedule.
  11. I had an 01 F4i and it would occasionally not fire, but would just crank. I had an older battery so I would drain it fast. What I attributed it to was a bad connection at the kill switch. What I did was spray some electronic contact cleaner down in the crevices around the kill switch, hooked it up to a battery charger and it would fire and run fine. This typically happened after I washed the bike. You could give it a try, but I would be getting that battery checked out. If nothing else, charge the battery overnight and see how the bike reacts. If you don't have a charger I think I saw where AutoZone will charge batteries for free check it out.
  12. Seeing that video and reading about that crazy chic running down that motorcyclist just confirms my idea to stay away from the crazies. Too many wack jobs out there.
  13. I think you need a new battery as well. It is running fine when you pop start it because your charging system is in good working order, but my guess is if you keep pop starting it soon won't be. If you have a battery charger hook it up at 10amps and see if bike will start. If it does I would say you definitely need a new battery.
  14. My problem is with those people that get passed by multiple people on the right and yet continue to sit in the left lane, even when given the chance to move over. I often try to give people a chance to get over and they still just sit there, and I end up having to go around on the right as well. I get it, I have found myself in the left lane a time or 2 and just not thinking about it in the car, but the minute someone goes by on the right I feel like a heel and move over ASAP. My daily commute would be so much nicer if others could figure out the left lane is for passing, but from what I have seen its not gonna happen. Many people feel if they are any speed over the limit they have the right to be in that left lane. Frustrating to me. I have no problem with you driving the speed you're comfortable with, just let me run my pace as well. Move over, I promise I won't take long to get by.
  15. I often try to smile and wave as well, but on the bike I just try to stay away. Sorry I failed with the head butt and video.
  16. So I was coming home last night on 11 North in the fast lane doin about 75 mph in a 65 and gaining on the car in front of me. A red Cavalier comes buzzing up the slow lane and drops in behind the car in front of me because of a car coming up the entrance ramp. All of the sudden I see what I originally thought was windshield spray in the air, but quickly realized it was brake dust. Red Cavalier was tailgating hard and car brake checked him. No big deal at this point, but then driver in front takes it to the extreme. Girl locks em up, brings her and the red Cavalier to a complete stop in fast lane right in front of me. I decided I was not gonna get squashed like a bug by whatever was coming behind me, but could not go to right lane because of traffic, so I went around cautiously on the left. Good thing I was cautious, because the girl threw her car in park and was getting out to I guess put a hurting on the skinny boy in the Cavalier. Not sure what all came of the incident, I was just glad I had an escape route and figured there was no use being a sitting duck if someone smashed into the two of them. If you get the newspaper near Niles,OH who knows you may be reading about them as I type this. Crazy stuff. Keep the rubber side down and be careful out there.
  17. I'd second that thought. Even if the bike handled as well and had the same range. I'd miss the growl comin from that Two Brothers under my seat.
  18. Sorry I messed up on those directions. You want to take 62 North to 6 East to 59 E to 770 N/E. If I remeber correctly it was 770 that was the 6-7mile run into Bradford that was fun. Other roads were decent. You can also include 27 that runs from Meadville to Titusville, which then you can run that over to 62. I often run 27 it is a fun route that is pretty close to me.
  19. I have rode both areas quite a bit. I think south is better. 666 was closed last year, they had some bridges wash out. If you plan to head that way check to make sure it is open. I know they had repaired some, but not sure if they have fixed all of the bridges. If you take 62 to 666 you could take it to the kinzua dam area there is a road I believe it is 559 that runs into Bradford, PA. Not a real long road but was awesome with some eleveation change and great twisities. So good I turned around and rode it twice. 62 itself is decent
  20. Gotcha. Makes sense, not sure I would have thought to do it. Thankfully I have spotted the many deer that have decided to cross the road in front of me when on my bike in time to slow down and avoid any collisions, unlike when driving my car. You're only about an hour away from me. Would love to ride with you sometime. I rode with Hellmutt's group on the epic ride last weekend and had a blast. I typically do a lot of solo riding, but the group thing was cool. I think I did spot you at the meet up and believe I recall the looks of your middle finger as you passed by with your fellow rider.
  21. Isaac's Papa when you took out that deer how fast were you going? What kind of damage to you and your bike? How big was the deer? Which Duc were you on? I'd never think to roll on to hit one. I live close to you but maybe the deer in your area are a lot smaller than those here in Ashtabula County. I have hit deer in my car and they have always done some pretty good damage. Can't imagine what it would do to my 600rr.
  22. I had the same problem with rain running down the inside of my fly helmet shield. I did as many already mentioned on here and opened the shield about a 16th and it did help.
  23. Would like to say thanks to Jason (Hellmutt I believe) and his group for letting an outsider from Jefferson join in and ride with them. Had a blast guys, hope to meet up with you again. I got blasted with rain for an hour straight on 77 north as I went home. Ride was worth it though. Thanks
  24. New to the forum guys. Love to ride. Put me down for medium fast group. Can't wait to meet some fellow Ohio riders. Thanks for organizing all this.
