  1. Watching the major news networks for the 'tsunami' is like watching Nascar for the 'big one',sometimes nothing happens.
  2. Wish I was close(am up on the shore of lake erie),I'd buy them.Sure beats typically 15-20 each at a gun show. You should have no problem selling them.
  3. This is the 1st time I ever heard Thompson being called a great track and I've been going to the tracks up north here since the mid 60s'.Don't take this wrong as I go to Thompson. Back in the late 60s'/early 70s',Dragway 42 was 'the' track, nationally known,4 lanes(4 lanes at the new strip near Charlotte is not a new concept),and 42 held a yearly 'nationals' event.Norwalk was still rough & ragged and Thompson about the same as Norwalk. In the 80s' as Norwalk began to improve,42 was turning back into a cornfield,Thompson was still Thompson. From then to present,Norwalk has continuously improved and became a track of national status,42 has become a local prominence track, and Thompson has and is in a continual state of improvement. Thompson has a lot of good events and GM vs Ford on the 1st Sunday in August seems to be the local up north here favorite.
  4. Back then I was in snowmobiling and we were helping rescue and emergency by checking in on people and shuttling people,on sleds tied to the snowmobiles,to hospitals. In snowmobile clothing and helmets, the cold and wind wasn't bothering us,our problem was fueling up.
  5. doesn't sound like good gun shows down there.the closest show(to columbus) of the northern promoter is dalton, good show. http://www.ohiogunshows.com/
  6. We have good shows up here, and often, not looking to buy anything, just looking for someplace different to go to break up the monotony.I'll have to watch for the 'Mansfield' one.
  7. Are there any good gun shows down there,by good I mean large with good walking room? I go to the ones up north here(Medina,Berea,Akron,Niles,Dalton).Medina and Berea are so well attended that moving around within the show is difficult.
  8. A chronograph is the best investment a 'reloader' can make. You don't know what your handloads are doing until you know their fps. Too fast a powder will give pressure signs even though you're not at velocities you should be at. I've been using a Competition Electronics,Inc. 'ProChrono' for about 20 years now. I reload currently 9mm,38sp,357M,40s&w,10mm in handgun,17rem,223/5.56,30-06 in rifle.Past reloading in 44sp/44M,22-250,243win,6mmRem,25-06,35rem

  10. the Yamaha's were my top 2 choices, pricing on the carryover models is great. No one NEEDS top end high performance cars either, but we get THEM. Insurance rates at my age and my record is cheap,a 1250 cc bike is only $40 more per year than a 650 cc bike. I didn't live to be 63 by being crazy on a bike for 35 years. I never mentioned Honda or Kawasaki because they don't have anything in the 'naked' standard/super standard catergory. Maintanence of/on a bike is something I look forward to.On my GS650E,I used to monthly adjust the valves(adjustment screws on the valve rockers) and sync the carbs.Took apart the clutch basket and replaced the clutch once.
  11. Glad you finally decided to finish your intro a year and a half later.I told you they were decent here and not at all like the clevelandracing site. When we make it down here sometime during daylight hours,I'd like to check out 'Hoover Dam' for some pics with cars.Someone here mentioned it in a thread and I checked it out on google.
  12. why stay away from the GS650F ? why not get an FZ1 ?
  13. Thanks for all the 'Welcomes' ! A 'little' more about me. Like I said in my opener,me and my Z28 like to travel,I bought it to use and enjoy and it's not very enjoyable when it's sitting in the garage. It's up to 140,000 miles now. -Florida 9 times-the last 3 times with 4.56 gears -the 8th trip for Daytona Beach's 1st Annual 'Dream Cruise' -the 9th trip for Daytona 'Turkey Rod Run' at the racetrack -Camaro 'Superfest' in Michigan 3 times -SLP appreciation day in Englishtown NJ -G10 in Atlanta -2 Woodward 'Dream Cruises' in Detroit -2 Michigan F-body 'Meet'n'Greets' -Charlotte 'Autofair' at the Speedway It's been down Thompson and Norwalk 30 times-worked my way from 13.90s' to 13.20s'. I work on my own on it whenever possible. Heavily into rollercoasters-247 times to Cedar Point starting in 1995-4 times at Busch Gardens in Tampa during my trips to Florida-not much in the way of world class coasters but still a great park. Photography and Video-recently retired from local community TV making programs for broadcast Into firearms(legally),don't hunt, just enjoy paper-punching,reload various handgun and rifle cartridges since the mid 70s'. Started biking in 1971,progressed from Honda 350,Honda 550-4,to Suzuki GS750E,lookin to get back into it. Was that too much?
  14. the 63 was age not height.I do like the comfort of the FZ6 seat too.
  15. If that were to be successful, then a CR day at Cedar Point.
  16. Just local cruising in the cleveland area,no canyon carving. I don't want a low-handlebar super sport, don't want upright seating cruisers, don't want a tourer. I like the comfort of the handlebar position of the bikes I mentioned. That comfort is important to me as I'm 63.
  17. last september I went looking at bikes, wanna get back into it,got rid of my suzuki GS750E a few years back. I narrowed it down to 4 models-Suzuki GS650F and Bandit and Yamaha FZ6 and FZ1.I've since eliminated the Bandit because of its' weight. I'll be dealing with previous year carryover models. I like the black/silver 2008 GS650F for its' comfort. the FZ6(no longer available in 2010) for its' low weight and nimbleness. the FZ1 for its' power. Any opinions
  18. went friday, haven't been to a cycle show in maybe 10-15 years.things have changed, has gotten much larger with more vendors than it used to be.
  19. http://www.aceonline.org/ membership is just under $100 for 2 at one household, includes 'Rollercoaster' magazine typically 4 times per year,ACE news typically 6 times per year, newsletters from your local coaster club, admission to special events in the area, and most important ERT-exclusive ride time-prior to the public is allowed in the park and after the public leaves.I've been a member for 14 years. In 2006 it was 28 trips to Cedar Point,I get their 'Platinum' pass which is free parking and admission to any Cedar Fair amusement park and water park. If somebody in CR wants to establish a 'CR day at KI', there's another member(01SLPSS) on CR along with me for such an event.
  20. I stated in my opener that horsepower is stock,but not much else is. A4 TCI 'breakaway' 2800/10" convertor,TCI deep pan 4.56s's:SLP driveshaft loop,STB,PHB,LCAs,'flow-pac CAI,SFC,take-off 17x9 SS rims;StainlessWorks 'Y' & chambered exhaust,BMR LCA Relos,Caspers TPS,QA1s DblAdj-rear,Kenny Brown 6 Pt bolt-in cage,VGX pads
  21. Euclid is the first eastern suburb of Cleveland, takes me about 10 minutes(at legal speeds) to get there(Rock Hall). Fine Ray,haven't seen the bird in action in a while.
  22. As my username indicates,I'm old as dirt(but youthful in thought). I figured it's time to join Columbus Racing as I've met some(supposedly) members at Quaker Steak & Lube in Valley View up north here. I like to travel in my Z. http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh254/oldmanZ28/DSCN1307AS.jpg I'm one of those roller coaster nuts (A.C.E. member) and since I go to Kings Island,a CR event could be attended when passing thru the Columbus area. The horsepower is stock as I do extensive travelling and don't want to screw up the reliability. It's been to Florida 9 times plus many other places and events.
