I've put zero thought into getting to the gap so I'll be taking the slab south in the wee hours of the morning Wednesday.
Any riders or groups have a more interesting route and not mind the company? Might be able to get together.

New tires mounted up and I think I got the carbs where I want them
-
Definitely the worst one I've seen
-
Maybe just a short closure? I couldn't find anything either. Said he got to talking with a group of guys on sport bikes and they were bitchin about it being closed

Buddy of mine is in Gatlinburg this week. Said the tail is closed due to mudslides. Better this week than next.

For the price of a t30 GT rear I'll sell you my set of new 023s for think it's $150, it's a 190 50 rear. And there is a guy 10 miles from me that will mount and balance for $15 per tire off the bike. So it would be $180 for a new set mounted. Probably can't even get a front for that at Pony.
Saw this post after I ordered a set. Thanks anyway. It probably would have worked out. I ordered Roadsmart 3 next day shipping right at $250 set after rebate. I do my own mount and balance. Really surprised next day shipping wasn't more. $19

Thanks for the info. Been thru 3 sets of the angels with no issues. Will be a toss up between those and roadsmart 3. Gonna ride up tonight and see what pony has.

Where is that bridge located?
That is nice.
New Concord just west of town on rt40

Just the last 5-10 miles of that stretch. Wanted to give a heads up though. It gave me a new respect for loose stone signs.
-
Heads up sr83 a little ways south of Cumberland is chip and sealed. Mostly southbound lane to sr78 Lots of loose stone

Thanks for the comments fellas. Took a few blasts down the road today and everything feels good. May need a little more fine tuning. I had the carbs apart twice adjusting needles but may have to do again. Bike runs amazing, stronger than my 1100 but I got a good bit of exhaust pop on deceleration I'd like to tune out.

Zrx1200 almost done. Brakes are all rebuilt, on, and bled out. Body work installed. New battery installed. Carbs in and synced. Seat and shocks should be here by weeks end. A few loose ends to tye up and I'll be ready to take her down the road. Looks like it should be done in plenty of time for the gap trip.

Good roads. Great weather. Was good to meet up with some of you guys again and be able to meet some more. Will see quite a few of you again in about 3 weeks.
-
That's a pretty good idea.
-
Have you considered putting it on a dyno? Thought about doing that with the zrx's. Not sure of good place to do that around here. Guys on the zrx forum swear by that method.

Thanks. Took advantage of the cool weather after the storms and worked on it till the wee hours of the morning. Figured I wouldn't be getting up for the ride since it was cancelled. Turns out there's plenty of guys still heading out so I'm gonna have to shake out the cob webs and get moving.

Though I can't argue with results. Not the best pearl job I've seen but my first and I'm pretty pleased.

Finished up rebuild of calipers and master cylinders yesterday and installed them. Attempted to install new custom made lines but turns out they were custom made for a z1000 not a ZRX.
Getting to Fontana Wednesday arrival

Took 119 down last year and it is a nice stretch for a 4 lane. Worst part is we were staying in pigeon forge and took 81 over from Kingsport. That was horrible! Asheville route looks much more entertaining.
