  1. Correct. After my car accident I couldn't keep anything steady outside of a kit lens or small 50mm so Canon offered a better line-up (For me) of "IS" lenses so I switched. Jeff
  2. I have a Sigma (Nikon) 50-150/2.8 for sale if you want to have a better option that is still very small/light for a 2.8 lens. Just tossing it out there Jeff
  3. Love the 2nd one -- awesome pic I don't think I have ever seen one -- let alone had the camera close to attempt a pic. Hawks are all over with the large field behind the house so you would think they (Owls)would be around too. All I have ever seen mixed in with the Red-tails has been Harrier's in the winter and Osprey's back by the ponds in the summer. Jeff
  4. Today was the same pair (I assume) I have seen twice this week and then the "Little" one was with them today as well. Yesterday it was just the young one in the same tree in just as bad of light so another poor pic but you get the idea: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7021/6448834219_76e537fbfa_z.jpg This is right by the boat-dock off Cheshire. Jeff
  5. Hopefully Tim might be able to help clean them up a bit (Hence the other thread) but here are a few of the Eagles I took this morning. I saw the pair the last couple days in the same tree driving to work and figured if it wasn't raining or 10 degrees I would try my luck and see if they would show up again. I only waited about 1/2 hr and they flew in right around 8 o'clock. Unfortunately it was still a bit dark under the trees on the east side of the lake but that is what it is. Jacked the ISO to 2000 and fired away lol: Just landed: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7010/6448680903_5f1ea37be2_z.jpg Tip-toes: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7165/6448662869_613b60c0ea_z.jpg Taking off: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7146/6448655055_fa1de08643_z.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7007/6448657171_5db4758f1b_z.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7010/6448682899_3509b108cf_z.jpg And up-up and away: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7171/6448671011_fae2f7dc29_z.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7166/6448676205_1f3bdac303_z.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7014/6448678089_30a893ac46_z.jpg
  6. Pulled back in the driveway from Eagle hunting this morning and this guy was flying over the house so I pointed in his direction. I think he saw me lol. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7012/6448701003_cd9d592bff_z.jpg One more: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7002/6448699555_76302801ef_z.jpg
  7. I know you can do it in Photoshop but for those of us that just do quickie-edits (I only have a dumbed-down "Elements" or something) how can you reduce noise in a single or series of photos? I need to add them to Flickr and I will give examples but I found a pair of Bald Eagles at Alum Creek this morning but it was 8am and not enough light for the ol 100-400 lol. I bumped the ISO to 2000 which made the lighting better but added a bit of noise. Thanks, Jeff Here are a few: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7007/6448657171_5db4758f1b_z.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7171/6448671011_fae2f7dc29_z.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7166/6448676205_1f3bdac303_z.jpg
  8. Oh, 200mm min then in which case you need 2.8 IS. You don't "Need" the Ver II for that but it is much better. You can try my 70-200/4 IS if you want. It's sharp as a tack and great wide-open but not sure if it will do the trick in a dim auditorium or not. Jeff
  9. Canon 85/1.8 or the 100/2 would be my vote if that is long enough. If not, can't go wrong with a 70-200/2.8 IS II Jeff

    Tight ass's

I didn't "Talk down" to anyone. I didn't feel like typing it all out so I replaced "PUP" (Just because it looked weird) with "Pick-up's" so the OP would know who I was talking about. IMO, I shouldn't be able to take shots at other shops and/or clients of other shops (Justified or not) just to stir the pot or create issues on here. All it does is create stress, head-aches, and drama for no reason and I have a funny feeling the mods have enough to do as it is lol. I shouldn't be able to put similar opinions in my sig. Doing it in the first place is incredibly childish but being allowed to do it is a different thing all-together. If you don't think posting "XYZ" would fly on the person's or shops Facebook page then I don't think it belongs on here UNLESS you are posting a positive/negative review on a business that you ACTUALLY did business with. That would never apply to another individual. Jeff

I would say the easy answer is to throw it (Anything that gets completely off track) in the Kitchen or whatever it's called now and limit that area to members with "X" amount of posts or senior members or something. THEN, if it goes too far, step in from there. Jeff

You can say whatever you want -- just like in real life. But, just like in real life, you have to live with the consequences. Right or wrong is irrelevant. Perception is typically all that matters. How many different TV / Radio personalities or politicians or celebrities no longer have a job because they said something off the cuff that maybe wasn't even intended the way it came out but public perception said otherwise and off they went. Jeff
  13. Shoot me a PM We offer the best price and a loaded Mustang dyno so street driving can be kept to a bare minimum which is good when its 40 degrees and raining lol. If you are close, stop by the shop and we will give you a tour and then you can go over to Pick-up's since they are 2 minutes from here (Or vice-versa) and make a decision after that. Jeff
  14. I was just referencing the ease of matching or besting the power number if I only had access to in-house parts at GM. Getting the car to be warrantied at that power level is where the rest of the upgrades come into play and that is where the price is the big factor. If Ford can upgrade everything else and still keep it "Close" to the ZL1 in terms of price then its a big win (Obviously). Personally I would like to see them all (Camaro/Mustang/Challenger) go on a 500+ lb diet. It's amazing how much faster a LS3 "Feels" in a stock C6 as opposed to a 2010+ Camaro. If 3800lbs wasn't the new "Feather weight" then you wouldn't need 650hp to actually make a car feel fast lol. Jeff
  15. Personally I would only be "Worried" if I was Chevy if Ford made the extra 100HP with a new 7.0L engine and 2.9L or 3.4L blower and was crazy enough to attempt to warranty it. When the existing LS3 is a 6.2L (Vs 5.8L for the GT500) and the same-old 2.3L blower is in the parts bin off the ZR1 that Ford is using (Or a variant of) you could add 20hp to the GT500's new rating by engine alone without really doing any R&D at all. I dunno. I guess I am impressed with the power ratings (For a stock car) but not at all with how they were obtained... Jeff
  16. Yes, they did two Vortech V6's while they were over there. Mike said the SC V6's were dead-even with the bolt-on 4.6 GT's in quite a few races that day Jeff
  17. For those that don't check our section, here is a video that was put together featuring a few of the cars that we modded/tuned while we were over there in the spring:
  18. If you are talking about Chris' I am surprised he wasn't there. He said it was going to be harder to get back with his new contract but he tries not to miss very many. Now that his Z06 is back to a 6-speed it would have been there as well Jeff
  19. What did your car dyno? IIRC it is supercharged right? My only "Frame of reference" around 180mph is a stock ZR1 which is in the 184-187 range. Just curious since most of the Vortech'd 2011 5.0's we have done have made 550-585rwhp depending on other mods and that is just above what a stock ZR1 puts down (55x). Interesting what aero and weight and gearing and such does with similar power levels. Jeff
  20. I took these in FL on our trip to the Everglades a couple months ago. I have seen a few around my house (Alum Creek area) but never had a chance to take any pics. This guy sat still for a minute so I got a few of him posing before it flew away. Jeff
