  1. Had RR Premium put in today. My average speed test was 4.2 Mb. I was hoping for something consistently above 5 but I can't complain.
  2. Well, all I can say in The Ring's defense as far as originality is concerned, was that it was ultimately based on a novel that came out in 1991, way before The Sixth Sense.
  3. No way man! The Ring > Gothika. As soon as I saw who Halle's husband really was, I knew immediately that his cop buddy was the bad guy. I definitely did not see The Ring's ending coming at all. It left me traumatized for weeks.
  4. Yup! That would be me. I'm having it installed Tuesday, so I'll post my speed results. I'll be happy with anything between 5 and 6 Mb.
  5. Taken from Chuck Shepherd's News of the Weird : Thinking Outside the Box: It was a black male police officer who arrested her, and a black female officer who searched her, but drunk-driving suspect Donna Mills, who is a black New York City judge, still played the race card at her March trial. According to a New York Post report, Mills' lawyer said that the presence of the black officers meant that Mills' race-card defense was being undermined, and that that in itself might be evidence of police racism. (Mills was acquitted, but in subsequent interviews, jurors said the racism argument was inconsequential.) [New York Post, 3- 24-04, 3-31-04] graemlins/jerkit.gif

  8. Same here, Windows Update is my friend. smile.gif Unfortunately, there are people out there who don't know much about computers and internet. Yesterday I scanned a friend's computer and it had 87 instances of the W32.Sasser.B worm. I installed the patch and updated their anti-virus. Now they know the importance of updating.

That's my new favorite show! Remember when that one guy dressed like a super-hero says, "I got your money-shot right here!" then does a forward-roll into a wall. My favorite one so far was in that "Floaters or Sinkers" game where that japanese guy did a cartwheel and landed on his neck, then got up and went for it anyway, only to land face-first into the "septic" water. Then they asked him how he was feeling and he was like "I got blood in my stool."
  10. Yesterday I had to look at a friend's PC due to the Sasser worm. Today I have to go to another family's house as well. Basically the symptom is that their PC keeps restarting. You can go here to see if you are infected and how to remove it. Here's another link for a program that should remove it as well: http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/
  11. Click on the "Suspect spins three times before being caught" link on the left.
  12. Damn! I didn't think is was that big of a deal until I saw the pics! Sick!

  14. I used to have a StarBank/FirstStar/US Bank checking account. I use my checkcard a lot, and several times it wouldn't clear. I would go to the bank to check my balance, and it was fine! It's so embarrasing when that happens! Also, finding an open ATM was a problem. I remember one day, I went to the FirstStar bank on Cleveland Ave & Innis, it was closed, then I went to the one Morse Rd & Karl Rd, it was down, and then I drove up to the Meijer on 161 & Cleveland Ave, and it was down. All just to avoid the ATM fee from other banks! Also, I applied for their credit card, and I got turned down. Sure, I had no credit history, but screw them anyways. My dad is a former US Marine and he had a Navy Federal Credit Union account. He helped me join, and I've had no problems since! I now have a checking, savings, and credit card account with them. Everything is free, including ordering checks, and I get back interest on my checking account. They are also very generous (maybe a little too generous for my benefit) when it comes to credit. Overall, I am very pleased and plan on staying with them from now on. The only problem is, of course, is that they do not have a branch here in Central Ohio, so I have to always withdraw from another bank's ATM and pay the fee. Also, any deposits I have to make has to be through mail. Still beats FirstStar! On a side note, when I had my '95 WS.6, I got the loan from 5/3. When I traded it in for the '01, the dealership applied to a bunch of banks for the lease including 5/3. I ended up with Huntington for the lease. A few weeks later, I got two letters from 5/3. The first one basically said, "Your loan with us has been paid off. Thank you and we look forward to doing business with you again." The other letter was a decline letter for the lease. Hahahaha! Owned by 5/3! graemlins/asshole.gif
