What's your take on the .460 Rowland?
Bahnstoermer1647545488 replied to OSUPITTSBURGH427's topic in Dumpster
I've been looking at it too. Seems like it'd be a great pistol for hunting back up The "someday" plan rattling around in the back of my mind is to convert my Kimber to .460 Rowland after I decide it's worth dropping $4000 on a Wilson Combat Professional Supergrade some day LOL. The Kimber will then be my "beater / hunting" gun... -
LOL... let's say he has FIFTY Kimber pistols (yeah right)... how many do you think have been produced? 50,000? 100,000? 500,000? I'm sure his experience represents a statistically meaningful sample....(yeah right). That's like saying you believe global warming is causing the ice caps to melt because you pissed a 3" circle in the snow and some steam puffed up..."but I've seen it with my OWN EYES!" LOL

... anyone else burn off some fuel treatment tonight?

Something's sticking, did this once before, doesn't want to upshift under load. It will jerk badly trying to complete the shift. The last time I just tried everything and putting it in and out of 4WD a bunch got a clunk out of the thing and then all was well. I recall thinking I had heard a drivetrain whine usually associated with being in 4WD in 2WD, and then doing the 4WD lever tricks the drivetrain whine left and proper shifting returned at the same time, like something wasn't letting go of 4WD engagement fully and it was f'ing things up. Not sure if I have some shit in the lines, just had fluid changed but there is some question as to the proper fluid being used. Replaced just now again with factory exact SPIII, it's shifting a little better but still struggling a bit. Suggestions thus far have been a pressure problem / stuck valve body / gunk in something... hoping in case there is something just sticky or gunky, a power flush with SPIII would help... This is the 2000 Montero Sport by the way.... there's good help on that tiny forum, but this is my first thought if jacking around with the levers doesn't mysteriously unstuck it again. Oh, and please don't be intimidated by all my technical lingo...I'm open to suggestions

Good shit!

Need a power flush, not just a drain. Who around Dublin can take care of this for a reasonable price? IPS doesn't have one actually...

I'd like to grenade that bastard for his song....

How could you act like you've seen every gun ever made shoot and act like you know it's reliability? LOL...

Gun hate / love is worse than cars. Very few issues with my Kimber, probably mag related at that as the single malfunction I've had in the last few years was with the original mag and not the Nighthawk mags I use now... it's the only pistol I own, far from the only one I've shot... mine is circa 2006. http://gallery.ducati.org/image_db/bahnstoermer/lifesotherimportantthings/18716.jpg

LOL... I can't wait to see you run 80 MPH! -
LOL.... Luckily we've had some very strong wins recently, especially the Supreme Court ruling. Nice to see Chicago get sued, and Cleveland as well. The insanity is that the Supreme Court ruling was 5-4 confirming the second amendment confirmed an individual right to keep arms. Uhm, like uh, that's exactly what it SAYS, how the FUCK could it mean anything else? And if there are any anti-gunners in here saying sarcastic things like "there's no gun lobby in the NRA"... the NRA is right here fool, and you can piss off or move to England. Guns in this country aren't going anywhere....

Following my advice will lead to an A+ credit rating. Following the advice of commissioned mortgage lenders led us to the housing crisis. This wasn't "advice" to "mortgage brokers", this was advice to others to protect them from "mortgage brokers"! It's not my fault your industry is / was full of scumbags and selfish bastards. And like Larry Potterfield says... "... and that's the way it is." EDIT: And actually, to get back on track... To anyone considering buying a home or condo that needs a mortgage. Get the simplest, lowest fixed rate mortgage you can get. Going 30 years over 20 or 15 will cost you tens of thousands of dollars more, thrown away to the mortgage company in interest for what will amount to a very minor increase in your monthly payment. Go get an amortization chart, or read the first post in this thread and study it until you understand. (Hell, PM me and I'll help protect you from those who have their own interest at heart). It offers a very small risk reduction in that the monthly payment will be slightly lower, but usually not nearly enough to have an affect on your abiliyt to keep your home or not should an issue occur. Go run the numbers yourself and confirm. Getting the shorter term enforces discipline most don't have, and is highly unlikely to actually do you any harm and very likely to help you tremendously. If you can't live at that payment, then borrow LESS! THAT IS THE ANSWER, NOT GIVE MORE INTEREST AWAY! Ignore, better yet, walk away from anyone trying to sell, and I do mean sell, you anything complex financially. They created the complexity to try and make more money from you. If you don't believe me, demand they answer how much money they or their company will make compared to the basic loan you're asking for. They won't want to give you a straight answer, but if they do you'll know why. Complexity is only to benefit them. If you don't believe me, go talk to your accountant who has no interest in selling you a mortgage, and present him or her your "mortgage brokers" "options"! And, while we're discussing professions the world would be better off without, don't use a Realtor either. Pay your attorney a few hundred dollars for a contract agreement, skip the buyer Realtor and look yourself, and if possible bypass / wait out the seller's Realtor contract and save yourself the 6% (tends of thousands) in useless Realtor fees that you and seller can split between yourselves for a few hundred on your legal bill. And no, this isn't speculation, more FACTS I have taken advantage of personally. The reason these people get so defensive is because they know they're not really needed and go crazy if anyone suggests it. What do you think the "protected" MLS is for? You got it... Realtors trying to keep control because they're not worth it if free information shown the light of truth upon them! Any profession full of anyone without a specific previous experience or training or similarity in skillsets should be suspect, and the Realtor industry is a stand out. Every mom with kids just out of college thinks about being a Realtor..... their skill sets with your money certainly aren't going to be greater than yours with your money and some homework, and luckily, you care about keeping your money - they want to take it. Mortgage brokers and Realtors, don't bother responding. I'm offering my time free to help anyone looking to buy their first home with no interest in the transaction whatsoever... just a no-strings offer because I can't stand the scammers in the world taking advantage of people, and I see it in Realtors and Lending alllll the time. The situation isn't complex if you listen to people without an interest in taking your money. Without this unbiased information though, you will easily be screwed by ommission of information and misleading materials presented to you. My name is Alex, PM me anyone if you want to take me up on the offer and I'll be happy to help.

Actually, you just proved yourself a fool. My post acknowledges exactly what you posted as if it were new... the lenders created products to profit off of people all too willing to believe a fantasy.
-
Oh I didn't lose any property, trust me. The simple truth remains - financial "products" are bullshit. Get a fixed rate, fixed term, fixed everything mortgage for less than 30 years. If you can't afford the home you want under those conditions, save more money or spend less on the home.
-
LOL... listen to the loan interest slinger! Who gives a shit what has or hasn't happened in the past! Ask everyone who lost a home on a bullshit expanding rate because their falsely valued home stopped "appreciating" because "it's never going to go down..." I have a 15 year at less than 5% fixed, and as long as those deals are available only a fool would risk the bait of an ARM.... and bait it is. If you're so confident in your ARM program, why don't you fully disclose the money you and your company would make on an ARM and a traditional fixed rate mortgage? Why are you so defensive over an ARM, why wouldn't you let your customer do independant research and decide what's best for them?
-
Yeah except no one has the discipline to do it... and if you're in the mortgage business, you'd say that in every mortgage (=sales) appointment knowing the vast majority of people who say they will won't, and then you'd make more interest on the longer term and still look like the good guy.
-
Refinance into a 20 or 15 or 10 year... 30 year mortgage is insane anyway I look at it... no balloons, no ARMs, no gimmicks. Get yourself a traditional fixed rate mortgage, period. Everything else is a bullshit creation of the financial industry trying to sell things people can't afford to people who are willing to try...

That clip was hilarious... But how's this for "boating related..." From another boating forum: "This is a video of Russian Navy commandos after they've rescued a tanker that was captured by Somali pirates. They took the Somalis back to their boat, handcuffed them to the boat, searched for and recovered a cache of weapons. Then they made sure the pirates wouldn't bother anybody again..." http://true-turtle.livejournal.com/85315.html

ar or ak...or should they even be in the same sentance
Bahnstoermer1647545488 replied to TurboRust's topic in Dumpster
Ahahahaha.... awesome. I shoot a gas piston AR for the record, but it was 2-3 times the price of any other gun I own LOL. Not sure what one would do with an AK other than the things mentioned above.... By the way, if you're not a gun guy, 1 MOA is basically 1" at a hundred yards, so a 6 MOA gun is about useless if you're an American who can buy a 1 or 2 MOA gun from any dealer in any state (bolt gun, higher end AR, etc). I can probably shoot 6 MOA with my pistol at 100 yards -
Molesters... I started at my neighborhood hobby shop when I was illegal actually, beginning of the summer before I turned 14 in August. I volunteered, then they provided me an 1/8 scale gas car as a thank you on my birthday, a Kyosho Inferno DX for you old timers! Those were great but frustrating days LOL. RC was too expensive for a kid, esp 1/8 gas LOL.

2 positions, Mechanical Engineer and High level Drafter
Bahnstoermer1647545488 replied to a topic in The Meat Market
Exactly. There's a lot more to take into account than just the pay number. Cost of living, job alignment in terms of person and the company goals, intelligent and qualified managers, etc etc. $68k in California or NY or a bunch of other places wouldn't be SHIT compared to $50k here.... We all want to make a bunch of money, but I've visited probably a hundred companies around Ohio and no amount of money would make me happy at a lot of them if you have to be there 40 hours a week. Want to make sure my post wasn't misinterpreted. To you new college grads.. explore many opportunities, don't put pay blinders on before you even graduate. Some states don't have income tax for example, some companies may provide a phone and internet service, if you travel maybe a car allowance, perhaps prepaid legal.... there's just so much more than that base number to look at. Plus, no matter what you get paid starting out as soon as you buy a house you're going to be broke anyway
