Porsche also used magnesium for their transmission cases, engine cases, and suspension parts for years.
  21. Brett's Z made 365 rwhp and 400 rwtq while near stock with only a couple cheap mods. That was a while ago though, it was making way more then that this past summer...
  22. Up until 2 years ago there were NO (read: ZERO) options for rebuilding the transmissions and the transfer case recall wasnt out yet. Less than 3 shops in the country even bothered to try to run them because it was so silly expensive. Take a 3800 lb car and a 6k launch and youre looking at $4k for a tranny even if a synchro just went bad or replacing the junk t-case every-other trip to the track. MUCH MUCH cheaper options in drag-racing and breaking stuff That being said, the 3000 never was or never will be a drag-car, but with the growing aftermarket the past couple of years it is showing it can hold its own as a pure street car. If i was comparing pure superficial magazine stats i guess 0-60 in under 3 seconds, 1/4 mile in the low 11s, top speed of 200+mph in a 3800lb awd 6-spd car with 18s and 4-piston calipers stock sounds pretty shitty for less than $50k (car + mods). It just must need a bull on the hood to be appreciated tongue.gif
  23. 10.50s over in japan (single-turbo GTO over there) and 10.70s on this side of the world 10.90s @ 114 Looks PRETTY promising on improving upon that though...
  24. IC hose popping off doesnt equal "breaking something" 3/S cars have been around since 91. Aftermarket parts have been around about 5 years--seriously.
  25. **Selling for a customer** 91 Talon TSI for sale. Red w/grey interior. Auto. FWD. 177k. Body in good condition--some minor dings but no rust. Interior is decent. Car starts and drives fine. Typical oil leaks and so forth but not a bad car for a winter beater. Car is down at the new shop now if anyone would like to have a look at it. $1000 obo. **Selling for a customer** We can do a 5-spd swap / turbo swap / interior swap / or all of the above if you desire for additional money. I dont have his # handy so contact me at the shop 298-8920 or on my cell # 374-1736 if interested or reply here. Ill be happy to answer any questions that i can or forward any offers to the owner. Can email pics on request as well...
