john,Originally posted by Dr. Z06:Because (1) I trust the dealership only slightly more than I would trust your generic Jiffy Lube and (2) if I can help it, I'd rather not drive 30-some miles across town to get an oil change.
Also, Mike, having you guys do it would be great, but my impression is that IPS is a bit too busy to fuck around with oil changes right now.
we are busy, but we would have no problem hooking you up with an oil change.

john,Originally posted by Dr. Z06:Any recommendations on where to get an oil change for the Z06? I don't have time or the inclination to do it myself, and I don't feel comfortable enough taking it to a Jiffy Lube, Sprint Lube, etc.
Money really isn't an issue either.
Thanks in advance.
bring it by and we will take care of it for you. besides you still owe us a few rides

Porsche also used magnesium for their transmission cases, engine cases, and suspension parts for years.
-
Brett's Z made 365 rwhp and 400 rwtq while near stock with only a couple cheap mods. That was a while ago though, it was making way more then that this past summer...

Up until 2 years ago there were NO (read: ZERO) options for rebuilding the transmissions and the transfer case recall wasnt out yet. Less than 3 shops in the country even bothered to try to run them because it was so silly expensive. Take a 3800 lb car and a 6k launch and youre looking at $4k for a tranny even if a synchro just went bad or replacing the junk t-case every-other trip to the track. MUCH MUCH cheaper options in drag-racing and breaking stuffOriginally posted by Mr Blunt 2gnt:30 psi + awd + 6cyl = 10s
Nice
That being said, the 3000 never was or never will be a drag-car, but with the growing aftermarket the past couple of years it is showing it can hold its own as a pure street car.
If i was comparing pure superficial magazine stats i guess 0-60 in under 3 seconds, 1/4 mile in the low 11s, top speed of 200+mph in a 3800lb awd 6-spd car with 18s and 4-piston calipers stock sounds pretty shitty for less than $50k (car + mods).
It just must need a bull on the hood to be appreciated tongue.gif

3/S cars have been around since 91. Aftermarket parts have been around about 5 years--seriously.
