To build a great car, you have to know what your building. Hes on the right track. 180-200bhp in that car, with a nice cage and remove most of the interior... shear TERROR to the SCCA.

Finally someone with knowledge about my car.. I'm aiming for around 150-160HP by way of cams, ITB's and other misc parts, and thats all the power I need. AE86 is notorious for its handling and perfect weight balance, not its speed in a straight line..

lol, no way will you catch me with a turbo in my car. for some reason i'm not a boost fan.. the only way i can see an engine built right is all motor. if i went with ITB's my car would sound dead sexy, and would have twice the throttle response any turbo or supercharger would give me.
  3. Whats up guys... Just thought I would post some numbers and a short clip of my car being dyno'd. My brother belongs to a mazda club here in columbus which was holding a dyno day here locally at Passen Motorsports. They kindly let me participate, and I had a great time introducing myself and what kinda car I drove to the mazda fellows. Without any badges I got alot of confused looks, and some guys even shat themselves when they found out it was an 1986 that was rwd and 5psd. But it was great to hang out with the guys, and hopefully they will be holding another after I get some camshafts and other power upgrades.

    Here's the vid:

Once I find the Dynosheet I'll have it scanned but I got 3 pulls and my best pull I ended up with 103 rwhp and 99 ft lbs of torque. considering my car is as old as I am.. I'm happy that my bluetop is still pullin as hard as it was when it was new smile.gif . Unfortunately I have small ignition problems that show in the dyno sheet, but those will be tweaked and fixed soon enough.

  4. Yeah, Honda Accy or whoever on here is my brother.. he has a miata and an 85 accord. If you've seen this car in the gahanna area, thats me smile.gif . Your black coupe was lookin sick.. shoulda kept it man, you would've gotten a pretty penny out of it today.

That is possibly the best looking early Supra I have ever seen... I might even concider trading my parrot-mobile for such a thing...

It's an 82 Celica, not supra.. its very easy to get them confused smile.gif
  6. hmm.. well the only other guy i've met is a guy named Pat with a red hatchback and highcomp redtop swap, he was up at speeds a couple times with me. I'll be at the Kil-Kare raceway in april, so maybe i'll get to meet some of you guys there if you're into that kinda thing..

ahh, who are the other two on this board? I really need to change my brake fluid and I plan on sourcing out some FC calipers and etc for my front rotors once I start doing the footwork on my car. Oh, and an LSD rear end is soon to come smile.gif

didnt know someone else had an AE86 on here, but thats cool.. no all of the corollas were "liftback." They came in the coupe model as well which were about 150 lbs lighter, with a stiffer body/frame. Oh, and the luggage rack was a choice on the coupes when it was new that is very rare and hard to find. I have an arm rest that was also supposedly an option they offered, which is also a very rare item to come across.
  9. currently have a pretty much stock Bluetop 16v 1.6L 4AG, 2" exhaust piping, 5spd, grantGT wheel, TRD replica seats, Spinturn knob, front and rear strut bars, T3 camber plates, Espelier Springs with Tokico blue shocks, Panasport FS 15x7 wheels with 0 offset, TODAracing Camgears with custom cam gear cover to see inside, Aftermarket Intake, Bosch Platium Sparkplugs and NGK wires, Repainted Valve covers.

recently got it dyno'd with a peak hp of 103.54 at 6250 rpm and 99.32 ftlbs of torque. not too bad considering its as old as I am. Hoping to sqeeze some more HP out of it one way or another.

  10. Sup guys, just thought I would drop a line and introduce myself. My name's Andy and I drive an 86 Corolla GTS coupe(AE86).
