  1. I have a Moostang too, and only keep it because I want a CAR that's cheap, RWD, V8 that I can drive to work and the store without putting that abuse on the Formula. Though it's freaking PATHETIC that my Mustang was supposed to compete with my Formula (stock for stock of course). My Moostang is my version of driving a Honda Civic. I only bought it because of the price and I knew its history, otherwise there would be another F-body in my driveway.

Before I'd ever consider such a service (which I'm not really considering), I'd have to have a couple extra questions answered: - Video quality/compression. What resolution is the movie in? I'm going to assume it won't be quite DVD quality, so how bad is it? - Sound. Plain, jane 2 channel, or Dobly Digital/DTS?? Once I get around to getting an HD TV (still dealing w/ the plane jane big screen at the moment), I could see tossing a PC downstairs and just downloading/playing movies on that. But the movie selection would have to be good and current, as I have all the premium channels and a DVR already, and would have to be minimum of Digital 5.1, Widescreen Format, and of decent quality.
  3. Ugh, even making a billion dollars a year, it would still take me a little over 8 minutes to make enough to buy a new Z06. Though I think I have 8 minutes to spare. I could just use the billion dollars.
  4. That video is as old as the internet.
  5. Shhhh, a lot of the Powerstroke and Cummins guys say the Duramaxes can't make power. Don't let them see this video. I will say the performance seemed a little slow for the amount of power the truck was making on the dyno. Of course the guy didn't exactly use the lightest diesel GM truck either.............
  6. You know that the owner was driving. That said, he did the smartest thing possible in an event like that. He gave them prosecutor nothing to use against him. They can't charge him OVI if they can't PROVE he was driving. Same goes for the drag racing. Depending on how far they want to dig into it, obviously DNA test on the airbag will be proof.
  7. She hasn't found anything yet (she honestly doesn't know what she wants). I looked at a bunch of Subaru's on auto trader, but all the automatic cars were out of her price range for the years/mileage she wants. Though she can drive a stick, she doesn't want one, and I don't really want her to have one. She loves her G6 rental car, but that's too much $$.
  8. IMO, GM made a couple simple mistakes that killed this car: - Biggest was that the 04's needed to have a lot of the 05/06 stuff. BIGGEST being the hood and dual exit exhaust, followed very closely by the LS2. The brake upgrade and the other small changes could have been left off the 04 and not made a difference. - Different wheels, something more flashy. Even the 18" option is kind of bland. People saw the 04's, didn't like them (though I still do), and never looked back. They never looked at the SIGNIFICANT changes the 05's came with (both in apperance and power, 2 of the biggest complaints w/ the 04). Had the 05's been the 04 model, I think things would have turned out differently.
  9. I've been saying that for years (it's an old bit from "The Man Show"). There really should be a place like that, I'm sure there is a market for it.
  10. You are going to take an eye out with this thing.
  11. The Q&A part is great. What a total douche bag.
  12. It wouldn't bother me at all if my girlfriend bought one of the same cars that I have. But I don't sport any girly FWD cars either, so that's not really an issue I suppose.
  13. Then you might want to inform him there are a LOT of V8's in the area of all makes that he won't be "eating" any time soon.
  14. Gas Tank. Due to US Safety laws that didn't apply to the Monero.
  15. OOOOOOOHHH, OHHHHH, may I answer this question? Answer: Yes he is.
  16. I'm sorry, but if you are going to call your site Columbus STREET RACING, wouldn't it make sense to be into....I don't know, say STREET RACING?? And that's coming from someone who isn't into street racing, and would much rather take it to the track.
  17. But you also have to understand the financial aspect of it. If someone were to give you that car, would you keep it?? I sure as hell hope not; it would make much more sense to sell it, and take that money to pay off all your debt, buy a nice house, or whatever with the money. A person that buys a car like that has a LOT of expendable income. They probably have a decent collection of cars (and most likely other Ferraris) already. Owning a car like that is just another toy to have. It is also a decent investment. That car most likely won't go down in value any. It's just too rare. So the rich guy could buy it, own it for a few years, drive it a little bit, and sell it to a point of breaking even.
  18. The good ol' Christian Right. IMO, there isn't enough contact in Ohio tittie bars. I hear the ones down in FL and in Canada are MUCH better.
  19. You can't compare a new Z06 to this car. Do you think a new Z06 would sell for 70k if only 100 were built? I'd love to have an F40. I also want an F50. And a few other Ferraris. I need to start robbing banks.
  20. Alero = Grand Am = little too econ-carish Crown Vic = Way too big SUV's listed (Infiniti QX4/Pathfinder/Cherokee/Xterra) all too big for her. She said my Jimmy was too big. I think she'd take a car that's bigger than an SUV. I'd have to have her drive the Liberty and Vue just to see if those are too big for her. She most definately doesn't want a truck, even something like a 4-door S-10. Howard: I can't recall what year your Maxima is. I didn't really think about the Subaru's; might have to look towards those too.
  21. Opps, forgot to add a no to the Tracker, she said that specifically. Not that I blame her; I wouldn't want one either. I hate the Ford Escape, so I say no to that one. I'll mention the Vibe/Matrix, but probably not her thing. Here is a list I came up with so far (just doing some price searching on Autotrader for stuff under 12k locally): Chevy Impala Chevy Malibu Pontiac Grand Prix GT Ford Taurus Honda Accord (high miles) Jeep Liberty (mid miles) Mazda 626 Mazda Protege / Protege5 (may be too small) Mercury Sable Mitsubishi Galant Nissan Altima Oldsmobile Intrigue Saab 9-3 (mid-miles, may not be most reliable) Saturn L200 Saturn L300 Saturn Vue Toyota Camry (high miles) VW Jetta (mid miles) VW Passat (high miles) I couldn't come up with anything else that really fit the bill. Best deals I found were on the Impalas.
  22. My g/f just totalled her 95 Jetta. She has had that car for 7-8 years now. Her requirements: - 4 door - Cloth Interior - 2002 or newer (though I think I could talk her into an 00-01 if miles were low enough) - Good crash rating - Decent on gas mileage. Her Jetta wasn't anything stellar - 10-15k in price, though I'd have to say leaning on the 10k range would be more realistic - Fairly reliable - Able to tow a 650lb quad w/ a small trailer. - Not too much bigger than her Jetta - No Civics, Cavilers, Corollas, Neons, etc. - May be willing to do a SMALL SUV, CRV sized, but no RAV-4's, CRV's, or Elements. Her family is an "import" family, mom drives an A6, dad has a Maxima and couple older 911's. She would be willing to do an American car, but has been a bit brain washed by the family on that regard. Speed isn't really an issue. I suggested a Grand Prix.
  23. I saw something on Discovery Health a while ago about this kind of thing happening. But their examples were all long-term, heavy drinkers that stop cold turkey.
  24. Don't forget the first turbo production car: Corvair Monza Spider.
