Don't they have a request off form that he could have filled out? Why don't you spend some time trying to get another co worker to cover the shift instead of speading time trying to think of excuses. Just seems like an easier way to get it done and keep your job.

I agree no perfect solution. I think it’s sad that our soldiers are subject to testing and if they don't pass an Article 15 is issued. They not only have to cure the problem but have to work without pay (or a portion of it) while doing so. From an employer standpoint the system is horrible. I can't tell you how many employees I have seen take advantage of the system. They will work as little as they can to ensure they receive there "benefits" and forge any document they can to keep receiving them. This includes child care, housing assistance, welfare, etc. I had one employee that was making around 26K/yr and after her benefits she was bringing home more money than a Manager making 40K plus. She had 4 kids that the state was paying child care and insurance for and she was also receiving housing allowance. Throw in the child tax credit and she has it made. Another employee with a very similar situation was caught forging docs that were supposed to be filled out by the employer. We informed ODJFS of the situation and they just ignored it. They don't care because its job security for them. If the have a decrease in people applying for benefits there job will be on the chopping block. The system has flaws and most of the people using it and running it lack integrity. Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there that are just lazy and believe everything should be handed to them. It’s called the "entitlement theory". They believe the government should provide for them no matter what because their entitled to it. Sad but true, and its only getting worse. Unemployment benefits have been extended, government healthcare is trying to be pushed through, what’s next? Let’s just keep giving!

Just listed this in the FS section. This was my brothers first bike as well. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68130

Andy, sorry to hear about the bad news. Hang in there and keep your head up, both of you. Our prayers are with you.

My brother purchased this bike about a year ago and has decided its time to let it go. He's looking to get a house here soon and has decided to put the funds towards that. The bike is absolutely mint. He has put just over 3K miles on it. Never dropped or repaired in any way. He doesn't race it or ride aggressively either. It currently has a PCIII, BMC, and full Yosh R55 exhaust. Tinted windscreen as well. He will most likely be selling these parts separate and returning the bike to stock. If an interested party would like the mods I'm sure he would be willing to work something out for them. Asking $8400 OBO stock. If your interested shoot me a PM or email at mmorrison12@hotmail.com. I only have a cople pics right now. if you would like more detailed pics let me know your email and I will send them over. http://images.craigslist.org/3n93m13odZZZZZZZZZ9640b566c794c7e1c30.jpg http://images.craigslist.org/3nd3kb3m7ZZZZZZZZZ96437c2f78722ad1791.jpg

I agree that the officer was acting like an ass and I think he could have handled the situation differently. The sad part is the guy broke the law and the officer had every right to stop him. I think the problem came about when all the people jumped out of the car. That puts the officer in a tough situation and he probably felt he did not have control of the situation. I'm just waiting until more stories start coming in about other people doing the same shit and thinking its acceptable now. Everyone is going to have a different interpretation what an emergency is to them so I'm sure we will see some crazy stupid shit on the news here soon about how someone in there family just broke there leg and they need to get to the hospital. Just remember two things: 1) Turn your hazards on. 2) Don't stop for the police. Pretty sad how everyone always has to make excuses why they should receive special treatment.

That store is going out of business here soon.

What company do you work for?
-
It’s always interesting to hear about how people start their own businesses and the way they do it. One of the most important things when first starting a company is to set your goals and outline where you want to be in a certain amount of time and how you are going to get there. Basically just a business plan. Whether you’re looking to fund the project through a lender, investors, or personal funds I would strongly recommend this. I started my first business with personal funds and then started to expand with the help of lender's when needed. Your income level will depend on what type of business you are going after. if your looking at a business that is already established you are basically buying a cash flow. This will be somewhat of a safer route and you will have a very good idea of what you will be earning. If you’re developing your own concept then good feasible projections will help you project future earnings. I'm not sure what type of business you are looking to get into but most businesses are successful through repeat clients. Word of mouth and good advertising always help generate new customers. Be creative with your marketing as well and set yourself apart from the others. One of the most important things is to have an exit strategy. Most people get wrapped up in the moment and don't think about worst case scenarios. This will get you in trouble and things always seem to fall faster than they rise. Family and friends are important but sometimes it is hard for them to understand your situation unless they are also a business owner. You will have a lot of people along the way that might not be as supportive as you would like. Most people are fairly conservative and don't like risk. Keep moving forward and never take no for an answer. I have probably heard the word no more than any other word in my life. To me that just fuels the fire and makes me press ten times harder to get it done. Always remember, a smart man knows what to do but a wise man knows when to do it. You want to be a wise man. The most important part in being successful when owning your own business, is the ability to make the right decisions at the right times. Networking with like minded people and other entrepreneurs will also open many doors. What type of business are you looking to get into?

I purchased this bike in mid July 2008 and really have not hand a whole lot of time to ride it. The bike currently has approx 415 miles on it and is showroom new. It is vivid black with orange stripes and has ABS as well. The bike has a CFR exhaust, PCIII, and K&N filter installed. I have also trimmed up the rear for a cleaner look. The bike runs and sounds great. The factory warranty is good until mid July 2010 and has unlimited mileage. I am asking $15,500 for the bike as it sits. If you are interested or have any questions please PM or send email to mmorrison12@hotmail.com. http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/1032/0161kz7.th.jpg http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/6644/0171bq9.th.jpg http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/6492/018tz5.th.jpg http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/6217/0201mq8.th.jpg

SUBWAY RESTAURANT MANAGER POSITION $25k-35k + BONUS PROGRAM
mmZ06 replied to mmZ06's topic in The Meat Market
Just to make things simple. I didn't make the post to compare what others bring home here. If your satisfied with where your at and have no interest in this position there is no need to discourage others from taking advantage of an opportunity. This is an opportunity for someone with management experience who would like to grow with a good company. We operate multiple restaurant concepts in the area and understand that it takes good people to expand and grow further. Base salaries are industry competitive and the ability to advance in the company is also an option. -
We are looking for friendly, motivated, responsible team players who enjoy working with people. We currently have positions available for store managers in the central Ohio area. We offer competitive wages, quarterly bonus program, heath insurance, paid time off, 401K, paid training, meal allowance, and a grease free workplace. Salary is based on experience and store volume. There is also room for advancement into other positions such as Area Supervisors, Operations Supervisor, and support positions. If your interested please send a PM or email to subwaycaters@hotmail.com. You may also send a resume to: Subway Manager Resume PO Box 469 Brice, OH 43109

I have a 1996 Sunfire I am looking to sell. The car is in good shape but needs front brake pads and possibly rotors. It also has an exhaust leak that needs repaired. The car runs good though and gets around 27mpg. AT, power, and AC. I will let it go for $1000 if someone is interested.

Good for her. I wouldn't want people that don't believe in what I'm doing working for me either.

Who has a modded blue C5 Z06, license plate - "UUD LOSE"?????
mmZ06 replied to spankis's topic in Passing Lane
Hey Scott, that was me on the east side yesterday. Figured I would take the car out since it was nice. White Stealth, is that right? I think I remember you turning out of Speedway right there onto 256. Car is also still for sale but I am hoping I have a buyer right now so I will keep my fingers crossed. -
You seem fairly talented with cars judging from what you have built and are looking to possibly build. If I was in your shoes I would think about maybe making that $20K work for you by starting your own shop. I don't know exactly how much competition is around here but I'm sure you would do just fine. Take the money you make and buy a nice Z06 and build a 69 as well. Just an idea.
