I have the same smoker. Picked it up from Gerg. I drilled a hole in the middle top part and stuck a thermometer in there. Just to make sure it stayed the same temp.

 

I've been using apple and hickory chips.

 

Another way to put the chips in is to soak them, wrap them in tin foil and poke a bunch of holes in it. Doesn't seem to flare up as much.

My Mom has a set of clubs from when my dad used them.

 

No idea what they are. I know they're knock offs but they're decent I guess. Full set with some woods and drivers. No idea what they're worth though.

 

If you're interested I can probably get some pics and see what they're worth. I wouldn't guess more than a few hundred bucks.

So I want to put a porch/deck on the front of my house. Got a builder, submitted the paperwork for the permit. Call them today to see where its at. They proceed to tell me I only have 3 feet to build out from the house (which is retarded). There goes my 10x20 porch I wanted. They then tell me I can apply for a variance on my property to allow for a deck.

 

I went on gahannas web site and printed out the form to fill out. Its telling me I have to submit drawings, go to a hearing and all kinds of other shit.

 

Numerous other people in my neighborhood have decks, porches, etc way past their house.

 

Has anyone ever done this and if so how did it go and how does it work?

We are not fully sure of everything done to it so its hard to say what all we will end up doing. Visual mods and a little suspension stuff are the only real plans for now. And most likely a tune. Then sell it.

You can get a cheap grill, just invest in a decent cover for them. My cheapo char broil lasted for a two years until my cover ripped and it has since gone to shit.
