  1. It's not something you would likely have seen in your lack of time here. 10 years and 22 posts, and this thread brought you back in? Not seeing where your contribution of info has been informative to other members on here either. We are all in this together, and you ate the food of a guy with numerous voiced concerns about his conduct and skill, or lack thereof. At least tell us how the food was.

Also wondering what a car shop owner would have to do with food?

  2. I'm not a paranoid type of person, but there is something very strange going on with social media right now, specifically Facebook.

I know several people in the aftermarket industry that have had their personal accounts shutdown, been blocked from posting in groups, or both here in the past week. These aren't crazy left wing or right wing people, hell they mostly just post car/pet/family stuff if anything.

We're also seeing our magazine Facebook pages get hit with restrictions due to them "violating community standards". These are Facebook pages that have done nothing to violate anything.

I'm seeing the same thing from other people in the industry having pages get hit that really don't go anywhere crazy at all or don't post much.

My theory based on my expereince running social media accounts professionally for the past 4 years is that Facebook is REALLY messing with stuff right now. This happens every time they try to tweak the algorythm or alter what you see in your news feed. We saw this when they went after "fake news", but nothing to this level.

Yep. My buddy who makes badges/emblems from cars just posted the other day about going to an external website because FB is putting restrictions on shit.

Crazy.. and stupid at the same time.

  3. The jeep already has air bags in the rear so that's a plus to level it out. I'll have to look into a trailer with brake and a controller. I'm not looking to tow it to more than either DW42 or Trails.

Not that it matters but way back in 05/06 I trailered my Lumina (3300 lbs?) with Brians 02/03 Envoy up to norwalk and it worked perfectly. That was just with the v6 or whatever it had in it.

  4. Not to Hijack the thread or anything (but I will), I just bought a 99 Jeep Cherokee with the 5.9 in it mainly for hauling the Fiero to the track and back. Max towing weight is 5k. Fiero weighs 2800.

Planning on either using a Uhaul trailer or buying one eventually. Generally the 16' trailers/uhaul ones are what. around 2k lbs? add in 3k for the fiero and that puts it right at 5k. Should I worry about either A: upgrading brakes on the Jeep, B: get a trailer that has brakes on it? It already has a hitch on it, just now looking to see what kind of ball/drop/raise/whatever for the towing part of it. Straight? Drop? Raise? Never owned anything before that would tow anything let alone a truck/SUV like this.

Opinions are welcome. Not planning on doing anything until the spring so I have time.

  5. The price of wood has almost tripled due to Aunt Rona. I was hoping to level the current 23x24' detached cinder block garage and have a 35x22 or so built next year but that probably won't happen. At least for now.

Thought about cutting the back portion out and making it like a 23x40 or so but the roof is shot to shit and the cinder block side walls are starting to bow like (---).

Other than that, I'm not doing shit to the current falling apart garage :)
