Was that on opening night? Even if it was in the first week or two, I bet it will die down. But maybe it is just a bad design, I don't doubt that either.

Uhh, a lot of places do that. Not as much as for a woman, for obvious reasons, but they do. Also I’m assuming you meant paternity leave unless you want to have a somehow fully functional sex change and to birth a child at some point. If so, no one here wants to know about that.

FS:2001 gsxr600 for cash or partial trade 1600.00
Trouble Maker replied to fooswinger's topic in LBTS GLWS
Wow, I can't believe someone would post a vehicle for sale without a title and not post that it didn't have a title. It's not that big of a deal if it doesn't, just let people know that. It's completely different buying something with or without a title. People are probably going to use those vehicles for completely different purposes. Trying to sell a bike without a title and not stating it as such makes people think things like this. -
If you are pulling out as the sole method of trying not to get a girl pregnant then you’re a fucking idiot to begin with. I can’t believe you morons using that as an example for an arguing point.

I think it’s irresponsible to even speak about not taking care of a child you fathered. ‘Unfortunately’ nature in a slight twist of irony has taken this choice right out of our hands, but modern day society has placed an ever increasing burden on males simply because they aren’t the ones that has to go through the physical trauma of childbirth. All without giving them much of a decisions as to what they would like to do (like maybe actually take care of the child). Although I think there should be a ‘way’ to make both parties (the mother and father) equally bear the responsibility of the child, it’s also as equally irresponsible as a society to have the system in place we have now. One that seems to punish more good fathers than it helps good mothers. I don’t think there is a simple answer to that question at this point. At any rate, here is a very interesting article pertaining to that. It’s a column from the Glenn Sacks website that chrismindless posted about the male birth control pill. Maybe a small step towards putting this decision equally on the woman and the mans shoulders. The system we currently have in place is very wrong and it won’t change overnight. It will take many little steps like this, but mostly changes to the legal system side, to make everything fair.

Anybody running E85 in a high performance application???
Trouble Maker replied to CJINOHIO03's topic in Passing Lane
That's definitely true, but it’s being produced in relatively small amounts, and has a relatively small demand compared to regular petrol. This is also why the government can subside it and that won’t affect the taxes that much. Imagine if it had the same demand and production as petrol, the cost would definitely go down. I obviously can’t say for sure, but I would assume enough so that even if they taxed it as much as they do regular gas, it would be competitive price wise. Imagine wars in a foreign country, or a tanker flipping over in the ocean, or pipeline being destroyed by a hurricane having much less effect on the cost of a gallon of gas (whatever this may be in the future). Part of the key to our future economic stability and continuing heavy geopolitical abilities highly involves less dependence on foreign sources of energy. Oil will ‘run out’ some day. I’d rather use the world reserves on the manufacturing processes that need it, in much smaller amounts, than in my car, if there were a viable substitute. It looks like we have a temporary patch to reduce the hemorrhaging until much more efficient means of energy consumption can be made viable. Thank god someone posted the R+M/2 octane of it. I couldn't find it anywhere the other day. Just claims of anywhere from 100 to 115, not saying the method, but I know I read somewhere on the e85fuel.com website it said they were talking about RON. I’ll also assume this is when mixed 85/15. What about the 70/30 ‘winter blend, I’m sure this is lower. What is the RON or MON of straight ethyl alcohol? I’m assuming the other 15 or 30 they mix it with is 87 (R+M/2)? -
50/50 child support issue -- needs support

Yeah, I wasn't trying to say anything about the specific situation. I obviously know nothing about it. I was just speaking in general terms using that as a basis to go off of. -
I’m pretty sure I’ve contracted mono before and probably didn’t know it because my stomach ate it.

Uhh, regardless of what you or he thinks, it's not his place to say anything. It's not his car or his call. Just because you feel that way doesn't mean you have the right to go blab about other people’s cars if they don't want that knowledge to be public.

You must be one of those people that's only drank a handfull of times. Not saying that's bad, it just shows. It washes right off, I'm sure Marc knows this.

50/50 child support issue -- needs support
Trouble Maker replied to chrismindless's topic in Dumpster
Do you know why the court ruled that way? I could see this happening in certain circumstances. For example, the mother didn’t work to take care of the child, forgoing working on a career during this time. But if there isn’t an extraneous, and provable, circumstance like that, I don’t see why there should be a reason why one person should pay the other. I just bet the way the laws are set up, it's just assumed that the guys pays child support, even in shared (full 50/50) custody. Imagine if he were a stay at home dad while they were together and she made very good money. Do you think the courts would have ever awarded him a dime of money to be paid in child support in a 50/50 case or if he got custody. No, I bet that even if she were awarded custody, he would have to pay money. -

I didn't read any of his Columns pertaining to that, but it seems like he has a few things to say about it. Just looking at the titles of these articles, I don't think you are going to like what they say. Go to columns up at the top right and just scroll through there. -
Yeah, I think it was last summer when I talked to him about it. I don’t think something like that lasting a few years is bad at all, you can’t expect it to last forever. The case’s I was speaking of were people having the motor fail after a few months, then again after a few more months. I guess they were replaced usually, but that’s still a little bit of a pain to have to replace so often. Linn, did it get replaced under warranty or do you know how long the warranty is on the QTP's? How long did your's last?

50/50 child support issue -- needs support
Trouble Maker replied to chrismindless's topic in Dumpster
I would assume that at 50/50 the answer would be no. What is the case right now in shared custody? I'm sure it wouldn't change. This push only seems like it's trying to move the first choice of the courts being the mother having primary custody to 50/50 custody, and if a parent wants sole/primary the burned of proof on why that is necessary is on them. They don't seem like they want to change anything else, for the time being. Makes sense to me, except for some of the child support rules need to be changed too, but that's probably a fight for another day. -
I’ve heard about people having reliability issues with the QTP in the DSM loops quite a bit. I guess the motors like to die. Last time I talked to Linn about it he had no issues with his after quite a bit of use. I’d imagine he never closes it though, what would the point be? That DMH looks like a nice piece. No telling for sure how durable the motor is from the way it looks.

I'll assume that was when you were turboed? That would make a huge differnece.
-
You should have kept it that way since it's probably not going to be funny to anyone else.

that's a big negatory. Maybe one of the few 90-91, there are plenty of clean 92-94's. A couple on here. The flip up head light cars seem like they aren't as well taken care of as the non-fliup up head light cars.

CV boot ripped after ~6 months. Anyone know why?
Trouble Maker replied to Trouble Maker's topic in Tech and Tips
Werd, I can definitely do it, but an extra set of hands wouldn't hurt. Like I said, the only thing that was remotely hard about which was a PITA was getting the joint off of the axle to put the new boot on. It didn't come off like it was supposed to. Thanks for all of the advice guys. I haven't noticed any excessive driveline lash, but the tranny mounts are deffinitley known to go bad, so I will check them. I'm not too adverse to the idea that it could have been a bad part, I improperly installed it, or something else wrong. I'm mainly trying to figure out why that could have happened because I don't want to have to do the right one a third time, or the left one a second time another few months down the road. -

Reverse necrophilia rocks. Sounds like he probably got a deal on the car, even with the problems. Have fun rebuilding that thing. 150 shoot on a stock highish compression motor, with a chip that I can assume advances timing, fucking brilliant. -
Fupa Dupa Dupadede, if you were wise you'd listent to me. It's not a good idea for Joe to pass out drunk. Becasue he ends up getting big fat cocks written on face. I'm not worried about the temperature of the cave itself. I'm worried about the temperature of the water you have to crawl through while going through the caves/getting into the caves. Or in this case ice, which would mean you wouldn't be able to get into most of them because of clearance issues. P.S. I'm going climbing in Dayton tomorrow with a friend that lives there, at an indoor places he's been wanting to go to. We (everyone who’s planning on going on these trips) need to try to get to that place up near The Continent (or somewhere else if anyone knows anywhere else) at least once a month until this summer so we can practice climbing. And that place we practice repelling that we aren't allowed to go to.

I thought those engines were indestructible? -
Sissies We are going to go caving as a weekend trip somewhere this year. It’s probably a wee bit too cold to do it right now. That’s a summer trip. Holly fuck I just thought of an awesome place to repel and climb at that place down in Kentucky. It's about 150ft. tall keyhole.
