Yeah, someone buy all of this shit so I can get to my stuff in our garage.
If you pick it up while I'm there, I'll even give you some extra stuff for free.
I'm going to go out on a huge limb here [/sarcasm] and say he's just running a MAF-T with a stock ECU (regardless if it's got DSM link or whatever). I've never heard of anyone doing that with an aftermarket ECU. Of course you could do it, but if you are going to bother, you'll probably just go with a MAP/IAT setup (I can't remember what this type of air metering is called).
The oil pan thing I didn't know. To me, anything intake related (manifold, TB, injectors or carb) is not part of the 'motor'. I'm talking valve covers down to the oil pan (minus maybe spark plugs and wires obviously).
My thinking is if you go to a builder and say "I need you to rebuild X engine" what are they going to/should they give you. Obviously in a real life situation all of the specifics are something you would talk out with them, and would be on a quote, but I'm just talking in generalities.
Yeah, my impression of short block=block and rotating assembly (crank, rods, pistons, all assembled). Long Block=Fully assembled, maybe without a few sensors, but pretty much ready to put in the vehicle.
This was in the Maverick I assume?
Pretty cool you got to run one. Despite it being a badass machine, you would think most people you run into on the street wouldn't want to beat on it. Was this someone you already knew, or just a random occurrence?
Damn near ultimate daily driver.
This man speaks the truth. A friend, who is also on here, had some and I took a drink straight out of the bottle. Worst idea ever, that shit burns more than Ever Clear going down. It ruined my night of drinking and I will never touch that stuff again. I didn't actually get sick, it just upset my stomach so much I couldn't drink anything else. I’ve heard it's a lot easier going down when you dilute some sugar into it.
I obviously didn't drink enough of it to feel any hallucinogenic effects.
It doesn't have very many premium prices as compared to regular or even plus, and you can not sort according to price on plus or premium, just regular.
Does anyone know of a website like this where you can pick the type of gas you want to look up the price on. All of them just go by regular gas prices. Neither of my cars can run on that though so it only gives me some indication of what their premium prices will be like.
Or even one where you can filter it by gas station. That would be great because I primarily get my gas from Shell, or a Sunoco if I can't find a shell.
Well... I'm already and SAE member and signed up on their website and show up as being in an automotive field, graduated. If I were to take this, or any other, class I would also like to get 'accredited' for it under my name so I could put it on a resume and have another nice piece of paper.
The school I went to sucks for email, you get your email address for about six months after you graduate, and then it’s gone.
No shit, and a cold phone call would be the absolute worst way to do this. Maybe a letter if you are going to do it, gives them some time to think about it. It sounds like she already has the address if you are even thinking about looking up the phone #. Why doesn't she send them a letter and see if they write back? If I’m assuming right, it sounds like she is a little obsessed with this and it probably won’t be healthy mentally for her no matter how this goes.
I bet her parents end up being like Joe Dirt's parents.
I got this in my email the other day and it caught my eye. Definitely interesting and tempting. Not $595 interesting, epseically when it doens't directly apply to my current field. If only I were still a student. I should enroll in 1 class at CSCC so I can get the $195 rate.
