  1. I think you are hearing an oscillation in the RPM's due to the tires slipping. Probably traction control controlling torque, assuming this car has it.
  2. Are you referring to the launch out of the pits or when he's accelerating out of the corners on the track? EDIT: Watched it again. Nurkvinny is right.
  3. The thing about the Jeep is, even non-SRT's get up to $65k (Summit starts at 60), so the SRT has to come in above that. Current LX/LC SRT's can start around $50k (Core model). The pricing should be interesting though, especially since you now have the 6.4L Scat Pack, 6.4L SRT, and 6.2L S/C SRT. I would expect the 6.4L SRT to stay around the same, and the Scat Pack possibly slot in where the Core was. That leaves plenty of room in the 60's for a Hellcat, and they won't price it as high as a Z/28.
  4. Corporate doesn't like to see customers driven away for any reason but I'm sure they have more leverage against the dealer with SRT. I know with the Viper situation Ralph was not very happy and he commented that they spoke with those dealers and "fixed" the situation. Most dealers make a bulk of their money on service anyway. On a corporate delivery, if the dealer is too short - sighted to see the potential return service business for scheduled maintenance from a business then they don't deserve to be in business, IMO. Although, my dad went to a Columbus dealer last week ready to buy a new 300C. The sales guy was very helpful and even told him he could order a car to get what he wanted. When talking pricing he mentioned that I worked for Chrysler and he would have employee pricing. From then on it was all pressure to buy something off the lot and they denied that he could order a car. He ended up buying a TL. :/
  5. Dealers were caught doing this when the Viper was released and some of them lost their rights to sell SRT because of this. If corporate finds out they will contact the dealer directly, and not every Dodge dealer is an SRT dealer, they have to meet certain standards. Previously, notifying corporate of markups was as easy as tweeting Ralph Gills. He's not SRT anymore, but he's still pretty active.
  6. P.S. Ralph Gilles drove an 8 speed car from Detroit to Carlisle and averaged 20.8 mpg. Not bad for a 700 hp s/c'd V8.
  7. 2015 Challenger orders are open now, Hellcat orders open up on 8/8 so I assume pricing will be available before then. Lots of dealers sound like they already have 5-10 people that already put deposits down.
  8. Not released yet. Forum rumors put it around $65k.
  9. It was bone stock and I heard times better than 11.2, but I assume that is an average number over a bunch of runs that anyone can go out and repeat.
  10. 10.8 on drag radials, 11.2 on stock tires. http://jalopnik.com/the-707-hp-dodge-challenger-srt-hellcat-is-a-10-second-1603567665
  11. I think the steering ability of this car was grossly over exaggerated in the commercial. Seat of the pants feels like the 200C steers harder during LKA. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/11/zy3y2y5u.jpg
  12. I don't think you're going to stop driving your car any time soon, but heavy trucks can probably support some of the costs earlier. You could debate the merits of these systems quite a bit, but the fact is people have been driving distracted for quite some time now and these systems have not been available. A lot of accidents happen when someone drifts out of their lane or off the road, and that's what this is working to combat. Most don't provide enough steering torque to actually steer you through anything more than a gentle curve and all will warn you to keep your hands on the wheel if you remove them. Hopefully, people are no more reliant on these systems than they are to ABS and ESC, but time will tell.
  13. +1 I've had a black Olds Intrigue, Saturn Sky, Chevy Volt, and Chevy Equinox. It's a nightmare to keep them clean and I used to wash the Sky daily because it was the only one I really cared enough about. It looked really good for that hour though.
  14. I've driven most of the cars on the market and some are better than others. The clarity of the lane markings and lighting of the environment obviously have a huge effect too, which is why you should always keep your hands on the wheel. Glad you liked the 200C. It offers a lot at that price point and I think it's a pretty solid car.
  15. LaFerrari. The F12 is a beautiful car, and I like the TRS, even if the hood window is a little ZR1-ish, but the LaFerrari trumps this in everything except the name.
  16. A couple weeks ago there was an F12 on one of our test tracks and it sounded amazing. I walked out of a building that was easily a between 1/4 & 1/2 mile away and you could hear it screaming through the gears. I wish everyday was like that.

  18. The claims in the video (most powerful and fastest muscle car in history) was not compared to just other Mopar's. They said there were some 'easter eggs' in the original release, including the interior pic showing the radio on '70's On 7' hinting at 707 HP. If you click the link to launch the Hellcat website it also says "Site will load in 3.0 seconds." Not sure if that means anything............
  19. 51 consecutive months of year - over - year sales gains!
  20. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/02/jyvesadu.jpg From the SRT Web site.
  21. I have no idea, but they previously made mention that '5% of buyers want more..', so probably 2-3000 cars.
  22. The Corvette is not a muscle car and he said fastest, not quickest. This means top speed, not acceleration or lap time. Unless they changed their minds from last week. You'll see in the video I posted a few days ago the engineers specifically talk about both transmissions being available. The 8 Speed should be faster though.
  23. Still no price. I'm sure ordering info will be put out soon. The other interesting part is that in the 5 year plan they announced the SRT Charger would have this engine too. Claimed it's the fastest muscle car ever, which means it beats the GT500's top speed of 200mph.
  24. It will get interesting when tuners get ahold of it. This number would be with a safe 91 octane tune and full emissions gear.
