  1. Columbia? That place is great. I always go to the one in St. Armands Circle when I'm in the Sarasota area. P.S. 2013 Pontiac Trams AM. We need pics, at it had better be painted like the Bandit.
  2. I don't think you'd be the first. Wasn't there already one in the works?
  3. http://slickdeals.net/f/6045302-Brinkmann-4-Burner-Gas-Grill-in-Red-for-99-at-Home-Depot-B-M-only-was-199-Unadvertised-Special-Many-SD-ers-are-coming-back-from-their-HD-stores-w-Success-Stories They're sold out everywhere up here but maybe you can still find some around Columbus. I was able to get the last one left at the second store I visited. They had 28 of them this morning and all sold before noon. Good luck! http://slickdeals.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2005122&d=1369269355 http://slickdeals.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2004988&d=1369265385

You can also rent points from someone that has a time share. We found this to be a pretty decent deal, but you also get a room with a kitchenette so you can make your own food (if necessary in your budget). You stay at a different building than the main hotel, so you will have to walk farther to the buses.
  7. True, but the fact that she is splitting up his other property and selling parcels, and that she would consider selling the house back to her father (even though it's not for sale) tells me that she's in it for the cash grab. If she were evicting her father because he needs specialized care you would think she'd just come out and say so, instead of looking like a greedy bitch.
  8. +1. I came here to post this.
  9. I think Tesla is doing a great job in their target market, but not sure a zero inventory business model would work well for a vehicle that could sell 30k/month volume. This law is total BS. There is no reason a factory owned store should not be able to sell to customers. Why not outlaw Apple stores, or any other factory owned outlet, too? Tesla had the Texas law struck down, I'm sure they'll move on this too.
  10. If he's eating normally you just have to ask if he poops normally, not that he'll probably tell you. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it. Like many people said, a lot of kids are skinny, others lean out as they get older. You could get him involved in activities if you want him to build muscle. If he has a digestive or intestinal disorder that is causing malabsorption of nutrients, then he could be eating a lot and not getting the calories. This would probably show up as diarrhea or IBS-like symptoms.
  11. Damn, that's a lot of travel packed into 2 weeks! If you have the chance to, and haven't been there already, go to the Hilton Moorea. Although, after they changed the redemption values it can take a ridiculous number of points for an OWB, but you can also book with points+cash. We did 8 nights in an OWB for about the same number of points as we just used in Hawaii + ~$160/night, but not sure what you can do t for now. For now, Hawaii seems to give a good value for the number of points used.
  12. I just returned from Hawaii and here is my “travel hacker’ summary. I could have done this a little cheaper had we not purchased an airline seat for my 1.5 year old, but with the long flights we wanted the extra space (and it did help out a lot). Also, I have not been staying with Hilton much since they revised their rewards program so my status has dropped to Silver (used to be Diamond). Had I been Gold we would have had free breakfast (which would have saved me $50 each day, for the 3 days we ate breakfast at the resort). I could have applied for a HHonors credit card and earned instant Gold status, but I did not want another card. Here’s the breakdown: Airfare for 3: $2200 LAX layover in DoubleTree: FREE (25,000 points) 5 nights at Hilton Waikoloa Village: FREE (231,035 points for a Lagoon Tower Partial Ocean View King) Rental Car: $290 1 night in Courtyard Marriott (Kona): $153 LAX layover in Crowne Plaza: FREE night certificate from Chase PC Visa. (Was upgraded to Club level due to Platinum status, which gave us free drinks and appetizers in the Club Longue, free breakfast buffet vouchers ($40 value), and free Starbucks voucher for the morning) Food for trip (approx.): $650 Helicopter Tour: $840 Bus Tour: $180 Capital One No Hassle Miles Reimbursement: $2213 (will be redeeming more after this statement posts) TOTAL SPENT: $2100 Overall I think we did pretty well and we had a great trip! This could have been done for cheaper had we not done the bus tour (should have just driven ourselves around) and the helicopter tour (except this was badass), but I think it was worth it.
  13. Same here. This car (and the concept they debuted yesterday) fit the brand perfectly, IMO.
  14. I think Bob Lutz told that story in one of the mags when the Sixteen concept came out. GM had supposedly built that engine and the only front end long enough to hold it was a Suburban...he said it did great dough nuts.
  15. +1 VBOX equipment is top notch!
  16. Time goes by fast! I've been here 3 years. I like my job but there are some outside factors and uncertainty with the future of my position. You'll have to guess where I'm going for now. I'll make a post after I start. /offtopic
  17. For every person that gets an interview there have been 10+ that get tossed in the trash. Some people are good resume writers but can't even explain something they wrote on their resume during the interview. Oh well, not my problem any more. I just accepted a job at another company yesterday.
  18. Seatbelt's don't do a whole lot in a side impact (but they're always useful). A lot of people die in side impact crashes because their head actually goes out the window and strikes the door or the front end of the other car. That's why curtain bags and thorax bags are so important. Also, a 35 mph side impact is nothing to laugh at. It's a serious accident.
  19. LOL. I'm sure. Yes, everything I said is a mass generalization based on the people I have interacted with, both new college grads (interviewing for engineering jobs) and recent high school grads (interviewing for co-op/intern positions).
  20. You and I are the same generation. I'm 30 years old. And in my rant did say, "I have interviewed multiple millennial's for positions at my company and all of them show a complete lack of comprehension, poor problem solving, extremely cocky/self-centered, and aren't very articulate...They are lazy, stupid, and think that they deserve to get paid like an executive for doing Burger King-type work."
  21. I wouldn't say that these technologies are being included as a reaction in order to pander to tech-savvy people, but I would say they are features being integrated into the vehicle in order to makes them safer (more hands-free options) and because the customer is demanding better connectivity with mobile devices. Infotainment is a huge industry that is growing. I don't think these are features in order to get apathetic drivers interested in buying a vehicle, I think they are necessary in order to stay competitive in the market with ALL buyers. You also have to remember that for electronics to go into a vehicle all the components need to be "automotive qualified," which takes lots of time and money. This keeps the most cutting edge processors from being used, so it may give an impression of being behind the curve when in reality the components used in your cell phone would never pass automotive testing.
  22. I work for a supplier. If all goes right, in 2-3 weeks I will be at a manufacturer. That's because in that rant I am specifically talking about my experience in interviewing new college grads for positions within the automotive industry.
