a whole bunch of worthless info that I just decided to remember someday ... -- only 6,252 Monte Carlo Aerocoupes were made. -- one of the ways to determine if an 87 monte was made early or late in the year is the spoiler. If it is a lay down spoiler it was made toward the beginning of 87 and the stand up was made toward towards the end of the year. -- SS Monte's where available only 70-71 and 83-88 aerocoupes are only 86-87 and only came into production so GM could use them in NASCAR. -- engines in the SS montes where 70-71 454 BBC (LS5) and 83-88 305 SMC (L69) -- Monte Carlos where originally an A-body as a type of luxury chevell and made to go after Pontiac Grand Prix's, and later, the Thunderbird in the 80's. It was moved to follow the G-body line in the 80's and in the 90's followed the W-body line. YOU SHOULD ALL LIKE THIS -- In '87 when GM cancelled the Buick Grand National, they kept the plant running until December, and all of the GNs built after August were still labeled as '87 models. We who owned them called them '87.5s to distinguish them from the regular '87s. It is interesting to note that Monte Carlo SS's were also built in the Flint plant alongside the GNs, and those built after August were indeed labelled as '88s! It would be possible to have an '87 GN that was actually built later than an '88 Monte Carlo! and sadly enough now it's the Monte Carlo SS in 2004 that GM has said would go after the Mustang GT. oh yeah and the last Monte Carlo, G-body, RWD rolled off the assembly line on December 14th, 1987 But it was completely assembled on the 11th ... all the 88's are merely 87's that hadn't been sold as 87's. Nothing different aside from spoiler between the 87 and 88. there ya go, lots of useless info for most of you. I knew it'd come in handy somewhere ... I know a bunch more too if you're really interested PM me haha.

you need to give me a ride in that monte Thorne. I still can't decide if I like them or not. I might be up around Broad street tomorrow night, if you will be around?

Well I gave him a call today but he's yet to get back with me he usually works from like 7 or 8 am till around 4-6 pm and typically takes lunch around noon. his number is 1-614-879-7165 you'd have to talk to him about prices he's real fair and I can't think of anyone who has ever had anything bad to say about him. But of course people wouldn't tell me probobaly I'm his grandson.

Volvo Commercial trucks without a trailer can beat a 93 Celica ST.

no matter how fast our cars, we still need copperhead to move them when they break
-
yeah Harbor Freight is where I get things I'm not worried about breaking. Like prybars and such. would also get things from there if you don't plan on doing tons of work with the tools. although Craftsman has got some air ratchet now and a impact gun thats really quiet .. it's awesome .. can't remember the model number though. would be great if you lived in a neighborhood probably and like me do most your work at like 3 am.

no real true skills, but if ya ever need an extra hand, I'm in. I like to learn new things and would love to help more around automotive stuff. I got a certificate for networking computers, small electronics, and other computer defined things. I also have an associates degree from WyoTech in automotive technology and in business management. I know a good bit but far from enough to do everything. I'm 100% willing to help out anywhere I can though.

just call it Posi-Racing and include all us GM guys imo

it was the Firebirds spirit trying to total the Mustang. Urging deer into the road. I've seen it a hundred times like my Celica, I got the monte and now all kinds of problems with the celica.

they have to get thier shit straight seen the new Impala SS? junk, how about the Monte Carlo they're going to make RWD and ad a V-8 to after screwing that up the last few years .... they're just turning them into Impala's. Cobalt SS is supposed to compete with the Mustang's for sales ... no thanks I generally don't like Fords and I'd grab a new Mustang GT over a Cobalt SS. It's a world thats getting ugly fast especially with the return of American Muscle after so many years of being gone ... and gas prices start going up $0.50 at a time and only dropping by $0.10. Companies have got to start mixing performance with gas mileage and people on forums are tossing the C6Z06 aside as 'lacking in technology' forged titanium rods .... and a 427 that does not qualify for a gas guzzler tax ... I think we're moving right along.

count me in, I want one.

so I've been playing around and jumping back and around forums here there and all over the net tonight/morning. And last I heard about the car aside form whateverone thinks they know is that it gets the LS7 motor which is sweeet. And that this Vette is a serious competator for the Ford GT and the Viper... as it was designed to be, correct? Why is it though this car is getting so shit stormed? It's being down talked by the BMW guys and MB AMG guys, it's like everyone wants a jab at it. Are we as Chevrolet enthusiasts really so hard to stomach as competitors to these guys? Why are we hated so much? Generally the conversations get moved over to how much of a POS the Vette will be with it's V8 engine and this that and the other and how Chevrolet is not as refined as Ferrari, and Audi, and BMW. And usually just to uphold my unrefined standards I'll join some forums just in the middle of their 1/4 mile arguements and bring up the amazing things a 572 ci unrefined engine can do. But then it's turned into what rougheans we are and how well we sport the mullet look. so all these guys that don't like the C6Z06, and tread across my home forum, in my own personal, unrefined, hillbilly way, I'd like to say fuck you guys. thanks, I can at least sleep now ... in my hay loft

got pulled over for a crooked rear plate...
-
it was a state trooper that pulled me over in the morning 1:50 am it says "Driving vehicle with ficticious plates belongs to another vehicle." I told him when he pulled me over so it wasn't like I was hiding something and I could see my apartment, I told him I took it over to the pool hall simply because my buddy over there was helping me get the carburateur right (which is sincere, I'm not good with carbs but I'm learning.) And I was just coming home. I think he pulled me over shooting for a D.U.I. though it seems lame, he's just doing what he's supposed to do. And I told him about the plates before he ran them, he checked the VIN and it was registered in my name, so i'm sure that helped my case and the plates form my celica are good plates, just wrong car :-). and I'm only like 2 miles from the pool hall. I'm going to go get plates for it monday or tuesday and talk to the prosecuting attorney hopefully around then too. Hopefulyl have everything settled before I actually go into court ... good idea? bad idea? other suggestions?
-
yay I'm back so I finally after months of no money and suggestions from you guys mostly over AIM. My Monte Carlo runs now, and runs (engine wise) pretty well. Was kinda nice, took it out and played around a little bit, raced up on a GSX which was all fun and games cause I left first gear somewhere around third for him. (TH-350) but ultimatelly lost the 'race' simply because the monte doesn't like the idea of going to third gear, it kind of overspins from second to third instead of snapping, thinking it's a clutch or valvebody problem (which that covers about al lthe problems a automatic can have right?) anyone know where I can get a rebuild for a TH-350 less than $79.99 or if I should just go ahead and suck it up and spend the money. anyways, soooo excited. Took it out ot the pool hall, and got the gawking it was fun, much different appreciation from people when i'm not in the celica funny how instantly it's like a status change haha. coming home from the pool hall though got pulled over because I was 'swerving around in my lane and my rear plate was crooked." Which ultimately led to me getting a ficticious plate ticket ... which makes me sad, so now I'm going to get plates and hope this ticket doesn't put me in jail. I was an idiot for driving it, I just got caught up in the moment.

Buddy of mine is parting out his F-150 so if you need parts, what happened was a fire but everything was saved spare the driverside air cleaner, wires, brake booster, and fender well ... the engine still runs fine and only has 55,000 miles on it, this is a 1997 F-150 and ya can contact me via private message or call me 1-740-808-7812 if you need anything or want more info.
