Gears (and maybe a shifter) should be the very first mod you do with one of these cars and under no circumstances should they be numerically lower than 4.10s. Seriously. If you are worried about what something that steep will be like going down the freeway come down to Hilliard and I will show you its no big deal.

I am considering getting some mustang rims for cheap that have some minor bends in the lip from potholes. Does anyone know who could fix this? Price? I am tossing the idea around of some beater rims for auto x tires.

By the way I don't want to come across as a cat hater or anything. My main point is that pet owners need to keep their pets contained. I have had a few cats. Two of which were my mom found along the road when she was walking. They were each small enough that they fit in my hand. I fed them using an eye-dropper but they both eventually died although I thought one of them was strong enough to live. The only thing that pisses me off more than people letting their pets run free is when they dump them on the side of the road.

One main issue with stray cats is that they act as a non-native introduced species that are an unnatural predator to native species. The introduction of the stray domestic cat into nature is responsible for more species extinctions than any other animal. Bird populations, particularly ground-nesters, are currently heavily impacted by feral cats. A local example is the bobwhite quail. Stray dogs are a problem too, but are a little more easily controlled than cats, partly because of their size they are easier to find. What do you think happens to those cats that get caught by animal catchers or ones that are in overpopulated animal shelters? Ever had an anatomy class? Many people from more rural areas will tell you that stray cats that venture onto private party, particularly the ones that are seen killing chicks get shot anyways. If there were a legal hunting season for cats it would be considered varmit hunting like that for coyotes or groundhogs. The problem is that the line between fifi and a feral cat is almost indiscernable. Bottom line though, keep your pets where they belong (including dogs). I have heard of plenty of dogs that disappeared from killing chickens or chasing small livestock to death.

I put 1 layer of Meguires Gold liquid glass on the stang and after 1 trip through an automatic car wash with "The Works" wash it is still on there. But by guessing at its beading effect, I would say it will need another application after the next trip. This time I will try multiple layers. I must say I am pleased with the appearance of this wax. I will also make not that this particular wash is a touchless wash and not one with "brushes" and such. I think that maybe getting the standard wash at this particular one (Corner of Roberts and Hilliard-Rome in Hilliard) instead of the works may have less pre-wash application so I will try that too.

Mallard now that I think about it I remember seeing you run. I was working corner 1 so I didn't stay very busy. I was having trouble with the 1-2 shift off the start because I was reaching redline too close to the turn but if I waited to shift till after the turn I think I would have rode on the rev-limiter too long. I ended up short shifting at 5-6k which was working pretty good. If I could have run again though maybe I wasn't as close to the rev limiter as I thought. I mainly need to work on getting closer to the cones and looking further ahead I think. I could probably push it harder than I think as well.

I was there, it was my first event ever. I was the one in the red Mustang Cobra. Supraguy95: Were you the one in the black Supra? What kind of times did you put down? I worked my way down into the 42s and had a good run going on my final run and went to hard into that sweeper after the long straight and kind of fugged it up. But I already registered for the points event in two weeks. I'm hooked!

Supposedly he was a "consultant" for the R&D of the new platform, whatever that means. I am not real happy with the badging of it, I say if they want to put his name on it then send them to his shop to be built like the Saleens. I for one like the new style but I am just going to keep modding the car I have, and if I do but another one it will probably be and 03-04.

I am pretty sure that you are right because it finally did to me what she said it does. The starter stalled and wouldn't turn over for a couple twists of the key and then finally turned over. So I think I will be swapping the starter out on thurs.

Hello all. My girlfriend has a 95 Carolla and is saying that she is having problems starting it. When she turns the key the starter doesn't turn over. Usually if she turns it back and then hits it again it will turn over. Unfortunately I have not been able to get it to do it when I try to start it, it turns right over. She says that it seems to be getting worse, that is, occurring more frequently. Starter solenoid going bad maybe?

Definitely DSLs. If one lip was a good DSL and the other one was not, then you would say "wow look at that DSL." But since I assume both lips were DSLs then you would say DSLs. You don't say "Where's my shoe?" unless you are only looking for one shoe. "Wow look at those shoes" is better than "Wow look at those shoe." "Wow look at those DSLs", "Wow look at THAT DSL."

I am not so sure that the intent of the mustang is to go after vettes. I think the intent of the mustang is to be a powerful/sporty car that the average person can afford, which coincidentally was the premise of the Ford Motor Company (except no "sporty" or "powerful"). I think that it has been successful at that for a shade over 40 years now. And yes the Mustang II (although the most hated mustang ever) still fulfilled that with the context of the period and the constraints of the late 70s energy crisis. It is also noteworthy that this is the stiffest mustang platform ever produced, not to mention its front and rear suspension are a definite upgrade from past years. Heavy, yes, but I would assume that is the repercussions of keeping the price in check. A car intended to compete with the vette I would imagine would have 1/2 the seating and I will leave it at that. Mustangs are not the fastest cars in the world by any stretch. But for a car to cause all this hoopla Ford is and has been doing something right. Price for price is the key, and price for price what else is in the Mustang's bracket? Eclipse maybe? The SVT version of the Mustang is not the fastest car out there either but at $40k what it has to offer is hard to beat.
