  1. Greg I am pretty sure that a manual Mach red-lines at the same RPMs as the 99/01 Cobras. I know for a fact that the red-line is lower for the auto versions though. There is a general consensus that the Mach has less upper range power than the 99/01 Cobra but I am not fully sold as I have seen over-laid dyno graphs of 99/01 Cobra and Mach curves and the upper range was about the same, but the mid and low range of the Mach was significantly better than the 99/01 Cobra. However a very proven combo is the 03-04 heads and the 99/01 cams. There is also some speculation that the casting quality of the Mach intake is better than the 99/01 Cobra. Finally, the seats in the Mach are retro designed and I think they are sweet. I believe that they are modeled after the "Comfort Weave" seats of the 69-70 Mach. Also the numbers on the dash are retro.
  2. It is a bit of a squeeze but many people put 275s on an 8 inch rim.
  3. I just checked the Bogart site and they have a wheel for road racing similar to the one above called the RR-10. Pretty sweet, not as sweet as the CCW's, but sweet. Not to hijack or anything.
  4. What does a set of wheels like that weigh? Some day I want to get a set of lightweight wheels for my race tires. Right now I am set on these from Complete Custom Wheel: http://www.ccwheel.com/files/gallery/chevrolet/c3corvette/classic/5l.jpg

    The new Z06

I was lucky enough to see a pre-production C6 Z06 at a couple autocross events as early as July. Amazing car.
  8. Pics available here: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/wk223000/album?.dir=95fb&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/wk223000/my_photos BTW I crudely measured the tread depth and it was greater than 5/16" above the wear bars on the outer water channels and even more in the center.
  9. I've been slacking on those pictures so somebody show some interest and get me moving.
  10. Wow you are quick, I should be good to go on the gears. Removing the solid axle is what I am concerned about. Do I unbolt the uppers and lowers from the axle housing first and then remove the control arms from the body? Will I need a set of jack-stands for the axle or will my floor jack suffice?
  11. Fowler, no go on the 4.30s; Nick, replied to PM.
  12. $50 Crane Saturday night special camshaft and lifters for a small block Chevy. Part number is 111451 and I believe that the specs can still be found online at Crane's website. This camshaft is barely used. I bought it for a 283 buildup and decided that it was too much cam and I have since put the 283 on the back burner. My father put the cam in a lathe to measure runout and he said that it was the best cam he has ever measured. IIRC runout was +/- .001 (?). PM if interested.
  13. Probably what is waking the baby up is when the engine first starts and it kind of "roars" on its own before it settles back down to idle. Maybe you could try backing up to your garage door when you park so the sound hits that.
