  1. Link does not work. If you can't get it to work would you email me the file? wk223000@yahoo.com Thanks, Bill
  2. With the exception of reving to 9k it has been done a la ZR1. http://www.c4corvettes.com/assets/images/db_images/db_zr1_detail3_4501.jpg
  3. Basically a kit car that uses the running gear from a Mustang or in the case of the GTM above a C5 Corvette. The most common Factory Five cars are Cobra replicas and NASA even has an amateur road racing series for Factory Five cars.
  4. Wow then scratch the Bullitt intake idea. That sounds awful high to me, they must not want to sell too many.
  5. Since when is the Bullitt intake $2000?
  6. Agreed. Tell him to save his money, especially if it is for a 4.6. Save money for gears if they aren't done and for a Bullitt intake if it is a 4.6 (then you get a dual bore TB anyway).
  7. Yeah I was joking, I got the "LS1 Slayer" from the ad of the Mustang (which actually had leaves and sticks on top of it btw). But, all jokes aside, that car I posted above with a 430 fhp 351 ran 11.9 in the 1/4 with a 3.6 second 0-60. A Factory Five Roadster with a 240 fhp 5.0 and 3.55 gears ran a 13.2 1/4 with a 4.7 0-60. But I totally agree that the LSx is the ultimate pushrod engine.
  8. They fixed 2 of my wheels and I had a good experience with them.
  9. Are those PBR's? If so they are very similar to the ones on my Mustang, which is nice to know that they are easily rebuildable. I think the rebuild parts can be bought from Napa for around $10. Assuming the piston bores are still good though right?
  10. As long as it is a manual yes. Basically because at that price one could sell the shell for not much less than that. The rear end would get a Torsen T2R and 5 lug axles, the transmission would get new synchros, I would be freshening up the engine anyways so the blown head gasket is not that big of a deal. The lower control arms would get new ball joints and poly bushings. I would use 96+ spindles, an 03 Cobra rack, and Cobra brakes. Taking selling the shell into consideration and the price of the car now and what work I would do anyways I think this would be a good donor car do a Factory Five Cobra or Daytona Coupe. But it is all speculation anyways because I am not going to be building a FFR anytime soon. But just for posterity's sake this would be what I would want to use the car for: http://www.factoryfive.com/table/ffrkits/coupe/375web.jpg
  11. All jokes aside, if I were building a Factory Five car I would be all over that "LS1 hunter."
  12. I still have this stuff and am open for trades. Some things I could use are a BRAND NEW transmission mount, good spark plug wires, or tools.
  13. Get this thing out of here before I take it to the junk pile. Comes with rear exhaust hangers. It is in pretty good shape and the tail-pipes are in better shape. Maybe would be a good starting point for a v6 dual conversion? Bill Kiser 614-921-0966 wk223000@yahoo.com
  14. I doubt they are stainless judging by the rust on them, they seem to be a bit harder though. The tool I have is basically the same as the autozone tools but seems to work better. I looked into replacing the whole line but figured I would give flaring it another shot so I sucked it up and went for it and made a decent double flare. If the bastard leaks then I will probably make a whole new line.
  15. I hear you, but I would rather not buy a tool for one double flare, especially considering that I have an OK double flaring tool already.
  16. Does anyone know where I can rent a REALLY GOOD double flaring tool? I have an OK tool but I need to double flare a line on the car and between it being on the car and the fluid running out it is a PITA. It seems as if the Ford brake line is a bit harder than the stuff that can be bought at NAPA and such. I need to make this one stick and it needs to be a perfect flare because my rear brakes depend on it.

    98 Cobra Svt

That is pretty damn good, on average though I think that 13.90 is about right. That is why I try to avoid generalizions.

    98 Cobra Svt

They were rated at 305 fhp and 300 ft.lbs. There are about a million intake options as far as "Cold Air Intakes", but as far as the actual intake manifold you can basically only shorten the runners. Certain short-runner intakes do well, but basically aren't going to help unless he has at least 4.10 gears and full exhaust. The jist: a 96-98 Cobra won't beat an LS1 Z28 without gears, that is assuming equal drivers. A stock geared 96-98 Cobra is looking at 13.90+ in the quarter mile on street tires.
  19. I have noticed that more out of state online retailers have been charging sales tax since this was brought to my attention. I still think this tax is bull shit. I have done some research and some believe that this tax is in violation of the Interstate Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution. Ohio's main argument for this tax now is that it is unfair to Ohio retailers because people can buy things out of state to get around sales tax. I don't know about you all, but I buy all my stuff online because I either don't want to wait in long lines (like during Christmas season) or because I can't find goods in state (like the shocks I just bought). If I can find something in state and cheaper I would buy it. The sales tax is pretty much offset by the shipping.
  20. The good Traction-loc is actually out of a 99 IRS.
