  1. My wife and I seemed to have lucked out when we got married. Since we were members of the church, we got the ceremony, the minister, basement for reception, and workers that cooked and served the food for free. We had a wedding for around 250 people and I think the total thing cost us maybe $2,500. Of course our family and us did a lot of the work making stuff for the wedding and it really cut the costs. And since both my wife and I were 20 at the time and we had the reception at a church, we had no drinking, so that solved that problem.

This seemed very similar to what my wife and I did. We got married at my wife's church, and had our reception at a township hall. At the township hall, we rented a large tent and my wife's family has several that do catering(they didnt charge for the work, but we paid for the food). We had a few kegs of beer and all said and done, around $3000. We had around 150 people in attendence and this was 13 years ago. My wife and I rather spend the big money on a house/land then a one time party. My wife and her mom did all of the flowers and we did the decorating. However, my folks did pay for our honeymoon which was a cruise to Cancun.

  2. Haha. I'm more referring to the old, gray ones that stand around with their 'Corvette' leather jackets on, in 90* heat, talking about their latest steering wheel sticker and new floor mats. :D

I agree..... See you at an upcoming event... :)

  3. I purchased my kit for my 30x40 pole barn at 64metals.com, outside Utica, OH. They have the best prices and very good quality materials. I have two pole barns. One of them is my shop. This barn is 36x56 with concrete, car lift, the works. The other barn is a 30x40, this is where my farm tractor and livestock is at.
  4. And that body shop would be?? I asked the same question about a year ago and got no answers. It's hard to believe there are no quality restoration shops in Columbus. I'm not talking about guys that beat on fenders either. I'm talking about a shop that can find old NOS parts, hang quarters properly, align body panels perfectly and research how to properly replicate complicated paint schemes.

The shops are out there, but you are going to pay so much $$$ your are better off buying a restored car, unless you do the work..

  5. You gotta have insurance at all times on every vehicle you own no matter what. Instead of dropping you should have lowered it to liability only. It sucks but it's the law.

Do you have this in writing or an actual BMV link? I do this with my other cars (87 Vette, 92 Mustang). I drop the liability and only keep the comprehensive on them in the winter, I have been doing this for over 15 years and know many more people that do this also.

  6. I had to replace a fuel filter on a 99 Grand Am. I got the orginal one off after some effort. I had been try to get the new one on. Is there a special procedure to do this? This fuel filter has the threaded nut on the one side and a plastic snap type of connect on the other end. I worked on this for a hour and couldnt get it the snap end on? I thought I was mechanical, but this filter is owning me. By the way the car is on a lift so I have plenty of room to work. I have checked with NAPA to make sure I have the correct filter, but I am stopping in tomorrow at a GM shop to by a GM one. Any advise? I even sprayed WD40 on the end with the plastic connector and still can't get it to set correctly.

    Owned by a fuel filter,

  7. I see where you're coming from: that seems like an awful lot of dynos just for the Columbus metro area. Yet, I think that, with some shops, like IPS, the benefits of a dyno won't be so much in terms of people coming for dyno pulls and tuning as opposed to R&D and the cost-effectiveness of having an in-house dyno that can be used for tuning those shops' cars whenever. My impression is that it's something of a hassle to have to use another shop's dyno - you have to work around that shop's schedule, you have to pay them for the time, so and so forth. Having an in-house dyno would - I imagine - begin to pay for itself over time when you factor in things like convenience, not having to pay other shops to use their dynos, and so forth.

I agree with Tilley, save time and $$$ on testing parts/configurations(R&D) on their own dyno.

  8. I would sugguest a Yanmar tractor with a blade. This is a compact diesel tractor that does the stuff. I have 250 foot driveway. My set up includes a loader, blade and a 60 inch mower on my tractor and have invested under 10k for the whole deal. The same set up with JD will cost you near 20k. By the way, Yanmar makes the compact JD tractors.
  9. Kids beds are getting ridiculously expensive. We payed almost $2000 for our kids bunk beds and they hate them 2 years later. There is nothing worse than spending that kind of money on shit and to have it not all be there when you try to put it together. I hope you pitch a fit when you finally get ahold of someone.

I agree with you 100%. A lot of stuff that is available is way overpriced and the quality is not there. I dont mean paying a good price for something that contains quality, but it should have all of the parts.
