  1. Congratulations, that was interesting way to do such. I wish you and your new wife to be the best and I am looking forward to meeting you and the Z06 in the future. My wife and I have been married for twelve years and have two children and she was one of the best decisions I made:)
  2. The Volvo 850's are a great car. We bought our 97 850 new at Byers and still love it. Currently, it has over 106k on the clock and runs great. The key is routinue maintenance and they should last to 300K before any major engine work. There are not too many shops that know Volvos, you have Byers or Segna and recently I found out about European Auto Works(Grandview). European Auto Works only works on Volvo's and their shop rate is much cheaper than Byers/Segna.
  3. Evan was correct, powercoating is a tough finish. We have a professional sandblasting operation and do wheels frames, etc. Evan's wheels were originally powercoated(we didnt know that at first) and had 3 to 4 additional layers of paint on them. This was the first time we tried to blast anything that was powercoated. The 3-4 layers of paint was easy to remove. The last layer was powercoated and it was tough to remove because of the powercoated surface. The next time we blast anything that is powercoated, I have some additional steps that we will do. If your wheels were powercoated, you will have a hard time removing this surface in your garage sandblasting outfit.
  4. I was in an accident this past May. Some 21 year old kid ran into me at Polaris and Worthington road while I was stopped at the light. Long story short, the guy's insurance company(Progressive) fixed my wifes car. They wanted to total it, but I told them that wasnt an option, so it got fixed, the final bill was over $6500 and I missed a total of 2 days of work. The claim adjuster was good to work with, since their client was at fault. They ended up paying my medical pain suffering that totaled two days of pay from work plus my co-pays. I could of sued or whatever, since my wife is an attorney but I didnt want to add to the high cost of insurance we all pay.
  5. My wife and I have no points and we are over 25. I pay around $1200 a year for my 97 Z71 pickup, 97 Volvo, 87 Corvette, 92 5.0 Mustang through Traveler's. All vehicles have full coverage. The other vette and cars are through Hagerty which run $200 annually. You are in a tough position, having points on your license, under 25 and not being married.
