Tim, Be careful on the 550 msport, their has been some engine issues. I would have got one I but went to the 535 due to this. Regardless, if you buy, cpo for the warranty and service.

Interesting thread, I have a non classic Volvo I am planning a engine swap. Unfortunately this is a front wheel drive 97 850 we bought new needs a new engine at 225k miles. If it was rear drive it would swapped with some sort of v8.

Haven't had too much free time, however, things are changing. My daughter is a senior in high school this year so just about to be an empty nester thus I might have some free time. Up until now, cars&coffee was the one thing I enjoyed as free time. During the work days, I will hit the gym for both a mental and physical break. During the summer, I do enjoy the swimming pool with a drink or two. I have two cars and half cars that need to be finished, so that will ramp up after high school graduation this spring. Still have the rental property and size business on top of my full time job, but I will find some time to exercise the car hobby.

Scott, I would be interested in sending some work your way. I dont like paying $100ish an hour to a dealership/shop where the actual person working on my car is making $15 to $30 a hour. I would love to paid someone who is qualified and good decent $$ on their off time, which should be less what the dealership would charge. I have been thinking over the past two years of opening a shop, but I don't have the time presently. I have the basic tools such a lift/etc in a nice shop but none of the late stuff for the late models automobiles. Back to you, like Brian send, you will need your place to be secure enough for the customer's car and I would recommend that you work of friend's stuff first. You don't want strangers over at your house and have to deal with crap from non friends. I wish you the best on this.

For the past many years, I have been prepping my truck for the winter by spraying used oil mixed with STP and chain saw bar oil. I do this around late September to mid October and this seems to help or slow down any visible rust. I spray the frame and inter doors, cab corners and rockers. If you zieberted that is a great start but again I would continue to do some type of prep. When I got my truck many years ago, it had some visible surface rust of the frame, so I cleaned it up and applied Por15 to it. This lasted for 5 years or so. After that period, I went to the used oil method.

We were just discussing this a few weeks ago and it seems the next day you found this one and pulled the trigger. I like it and agree it should hold value over time and be fun too. Congrats on the purchase...

I agree. I wouldn't put too much more money in it other to make it run and fix the the rust. I do like it, no cheezy graphics.

I am surprised by this too. I have seen work done at the Westerville location and was very good. I can't speak about the other location.

Same here, especially when it was built dirt cheap.
