I know that it seems like a ton of work. But buy him an assignment book. Every day, make him get his assignments and write them down in pen (so they can't be changed) and have the teacher sign it at the bottom and the # of assignments that he has. Check it EVERY night. At the end of the week, have the teacher write yes or no (end of day on fri) if he has completed and turned in all of his assignments. If not, make sure that the punishment will last one week with an impact.. i suggest something like TV or video games. Stick to it. It will be difficult on your part, but giving in and not sticking with the origional punishment lets the child know that he has a sort of 'control' over his parent(s). Also, if there are two bad weeks in a row... continue the punishment from last week and add a new punishment. This way the child knows that if he doesn't do good then his life will have none of his wants. Believe it or not this is a motivator for even kids that are not motivated. I know this may sound a tad silly, but this is how some psychologists would handle it. I have done extensive research with child psychology and developmental psychology, and these are some of their suggestions! p.s. bribes are not the best way. they will get used to and expect it for something they should do. surprise him every now and then if he does good. Do something with just you and him out of the blue, but remind him of how proud you are of his good work that week/month. hope this helps smile.gif It worked on my cousin!

Tina, those are great ideas. However, she has all but the piano (hehe). The savings bond thing is a good idea... however, she's had a savings account since the day she was born. When I said the kid had it all... i wasn't lyin hehe. I'd love to get her a piar of pink leather boots or something... but I don't really know of any good shoe stores for kids. This girl is awesome... She love cars (but is getting that from Trevor) and bikes, but they must be pink!!!! The girl is obsessed. Thanks again for all the good ideas:)

she has a leap pad and a bunch of books ... her family did that this year! Anyone know where to find good shoes for kids??? I finally found her pink bike for xmas, now I'm going to try to be on the hunt for pink boots and a pink jacket/vest! BTW... thanks about the idea of the leap pad:)

What do you get a 3 year old girl who has everything? This is my little neice and she gets kind of spooiled by all her aunts/uncles and grandparents. But I am out of ideas. Rick, believe it or not.... but most Eurpoean countries have English as their second language. If you work in the city at a shop, generally you have to speak English. I've been to Germany and Croatia (a fairly small country), and I've had no porblem with them speaking English to me. In fact, they think it is rude to speak their language to you if you can not speak it. I used to have the same thinking as you, till I traveled over seas. p.s. Just for the record, I know enough Croatian to get around the city just fine on my own. German is another story... since I didn't go to stay there. Altho, I did pick some of it up! [ 22. Steve, I've tried to find some online. However, they are all 3 years old, and say that it's not good to put them in a home with other pets. I already have a full grown male shepard. So that is why I want a puppy. My dog doesn't react well to other full grown dogs, but likes puppies. However, the breeding in feb/march would be PERFECT timing!!!!! Thanks garrett

Does anyone know of anyone that is selling them or getting rid of them? I've looked at all the adoption places that I could find on the internet, and I had no luck. I've never baught a dog before, just kind of found the breeder that had full german shepards... like my puppy Harley. So anyways, does anyone know of a good place that is reputable to get a golden lab puppy? TIA, Jenn
