If this goes to law it, it could be abused. At least if they suspect DUI there is a breathalyzer. This would be just someone's interpretation of what street racing would be at the time. Even if that person had all but the best intentions, there can be mistakes. I like to accelerate fast away from a light from time to time, okay most times, but I'm not street racing. This is a really bad idea, and more of the pussification of the country. The "I'd rather feel safe, than be free", attitude will ruin us all.

I went to the 500 in '89. It was a good time. I don't think I would want to deal with the crowds for it anymore though. Ditto on USGP though.

Two Men and a Truck had a deal about two years ago where you could rent your own U-haul truck, and you could call them and they would load it for you. We used it when we had to move out of an apartment and I had to work. Trish said they were really fast and we had no issues with breakages. I'm not sure if they still do it, but it might be something to consider.

I'm a stubborn Trekkie purist as well. I fully expected to hate this movie. They did take some liberties with the Star Trek time line that bothered me, but other than that it was a fantastic movie. It's great to have all the old characters back. I look forward to more of these now. Cliffs: I'm a geek... movie good... watch it now.

I had a hand held scanner that I bought to listen to at Mid-Ohio. I used to listen to CPD all the time. This is much easier. Good find. edit... I just heard an ambulance out my window. I clicked over to the EMS channel and they were talking about that ambulance, crazy.
