Drive a stage II 5 speed and tell me it sucks. (Up-pipe & a programmer) I also agree the I-drive is lame. Skip it. I'd buy a used '05. Mine is mint and KBB is $18k now. I agree about the cramped comment. I'm 6'3" and I can't understand why they didn't allow the front seats to travel all the way back to the rears like bimmers. Now that would make me happy. However I was able to drive it 17 hours in one day and that didn't kill me.

That's the most dangerous corner on the track. The car probably would have been safer if the wing stayed on the car. Still amazing good fortune.

Piston slap can be a problem, but only sometimes. Also listen for wheel bearings, and test it by pushing and pulling on the wheels. Other than that they are great cars. Gas mileage will never be as good at 2WD cars, and they are geared lower than most. 18 - 28 MPG on average.

Get the STi if you want a fun every day driver with big potential. Get the Evo if you want a race car. I still don't like Mitsu's future as a company, but Subaru is going strong. fyi- the Evo has the second highest theft rate in America.

So I get an e-mail yesterday that the entire company is having a mandatory meeting on Wednesday at 8:30 AM. The office goes to the meeting and in the conference call they say that they have lost $4 million the first quarter and they need to restructure the company. They say there will be layoffs today and they will be done by noon. I go back to my desk knowing that I am a prime candidate considering I have worked there less than a year. About a half hour later another developer is boxing up his stuff. He has been there for three years. Again, I know this is a bad sign. I finally get called into the managers office and they let me know that my position has been eliminated. They say that they want me to apply again for other positions because they think I'm talented. They give me an envelope full of papers and tell me my last pay check will be mailed to me. I say thank you and grab a box. I pack up my stuff and leave. This is a company that has been around for 37 years and a company that hasn't lost anyone to even quitting for 4 years when I hired on. So I thought it was a pretty stable position. So yea I didn't get any early notice or severance package, and I'm now unemployed. I would appreciate if you know of any development positions available please me know. Thanks for listening. Nathan

I'd say either keep it, because we all know you Joe, and you won't be happy unless it's a V8 rear drive. The bimmer is an interesting idea, and something that I would go for, but you would think it's stupid slow. They are only really fun as auto-x or road track cars when they are stripped to the bones and have good suspension and brake upgrades. The trailor is the best idea that you have had thus far. Knowing you, I'd say do that.

It's cool that Subaru recognized what a lot of STi owners have been doing for a while. Swapping off the big wing for one, and making their cars less over the top looking. That's one of the reasons that I got a LGT. I didn't want to stand out like a sore thumb.

Most turbo Subarus have unequal length headers/manifolds. This explains the usual pleasent burbly boxer sound. However if you put equal length aftermarket headers, which flow better, on them then they lose that trademark sound. It's a trade-off that I personally wouldn't take, but there are some really fast cars that do this. This is probably what you heard Joe.

They are breaking the law. Period. Illegal aliens cost this country $65 billion a year in social programs and free education, and that number is just going to get worse. I have no problem with legal immigration. I have a problem with people the are breaking the law. If they get amnesty then I should get to get a free pass on stealing a TV. It's the same thing.

Hopefully you are aware of the serious situation that is occurring in regards to illegal aliens. Congress is working on very important legislation right now that could grant amnesty to 11 million illegal aliens despite poles that say 80% of Americans are against this. To make matters worse this would allow all illegal aliens in the US to legally bring in their family members to the US. This means that if they only have 3 other members of their family outside the US that there could be an additional 33 million added to the 11 million already here. Tell Congress no amnesty for illegal aliens! I’ve made it easy for you. I have searched out all the web pages for your Senators and Representatives. Just send them a quick e-mail stating your case.
