You can get it from walmart for 60, and get a $20 walmart gift card essentially making it 40. I like it a lot, but then I'm pretty good at halo.

Once the X is bloat free(post root), it's the best phone I've had. Big ass screen, 2.2, faster than my d1 oc'ed to 1.2ghz. My only complaint is the sound isn't as loud as the d1.

Not always true. Bad/corrupt /system settings will do the same. But kernels usually cause the issue.

LOL. Some people need to do some research. Between both my droid, and my X, battery life is fantastic(ie at least a day with good usage). 2.2 for the X is perfect, with no real issues. Only downfall is a locked bootloader

Widget Locker is a nice program. The X rooted is nice. I have it clocked to 1g all the time, with wireless tether. Give me your gmail and I can send the 1 click root. You can always upgrade to the leaked 2.2, which is what I'm on. This phone was definately made for 2.2, as EVERYTHING works better, and you get flash.

SU doesn't give you the ability to flash roms, an open bootloader does, which the X lacks. There are ways around it though.

Kernels for the droid get flashed from a recovery. IE....put phone into recovery, apply update.zip or update.

I can help with the X(running 2.2 with customer rom), but not the evo.
