  1. Is that a comment on the original receiver of the gift or the gift itself :gabe: GLWS.
  2. No matter what you feel about #BLM, gun control, Obamacare, etc, the last couple years of uproar in this country contains one significant message that both the left and right in this country can agree on: we need a serious referendum on mental health and accessibility for those in need, as well as the need to remove the stigma of people who have mental health issues. A lot of the bullshit we waste political capital posturing on would probably be significantly marginalized if not solved if we as a country had a better outlook on people's "inner demons".
  3. What does IG's ToS say about firearm related accounts?
  4. Good to know but I probably wouldn't carry in my car, CCW holder or not.
  5. 1) where can I get one of dem dere fancy optometrist letters? i have perfect eyesight (except for my debilitating light sensitivity of course) and never had a need to see one 2) i always avoided getting CCW because OH is open carry and why bother letting LEOs know you're carrying, but I am rethinking my position based on this.
  6. That's why there's so many millions in research being done into the causes of CTE. If you read into the tragic story of Junior Seau's suicide I think it may have some parallels. Seau had a number of issues in his life but he left behind his kids. He was lucid enough in his lowest moment to shoot himself in the chest so that doctors could study his brain. he was lucid enough to know something was horribly wrong with him and yet he still pulled the trigger. Ultimately suicide is an incredibly selfish act but we never can know the demons the victims are dealing with, and it's not our place to judge their pain. Not that I'm accusing you of doing that, but the difficulty of understanding why they do that is, to me, the most anguishing thing about it. I don't for a moment believe that these guys like Mirra and Seau are ignoring that horrible reality that they'll leave behind, but whatever horror is floating around in their head clearly outweighs it to them.
  7. My immediate thought. Guy probably had 10x as many injuries as most NFLers.
  8. The first time I met him I thought he was straight out of Kurt Russell's "Used Cars". Got to know the guy over time in the FIAT world, hung out with him during a training weekend in Atlanta and realized the guy is a hoot to be around. He'll tell you like it is, doesn't cut corners and doesn't know the meaning of bullshit.
  9. Geico was way cheaper than progressive when I had my 1995 Triumph Trophy, but when I got the BMW they flip flopped. Currently with Progressive.
  10. Sort of. I believe Scion's distribution is controlled by Toyota NA, where Subaru's distribution is done through private companies like Subaru of New England which is run by Ernie Boch Jr.
  11. The following is my observation that I wrote elsewhere a while ago. I don't know how accurate it is as I've gleaned this just from talking to a few salesmen, but this is the info I have. One of the biggest issues IMO for Scion was not just the pricing, not just the cars, but HOW the cars were sold. Basically a Scion gets built and sent to the U.S. as a total base model. Then it sits at port for something like a max of 90 days. In those 90 days, dealers can put in a request for the car and then the customer (or dealer) desired options are added on at port. So if you want a car with the upgraded infotainment and premium wheels, that gets added at port and shipped to your dealer. The problem is that the cars sell so slowly that they just eventually get sent to dealers in random configurations that can't be changed easily due to monroney label laws. so dealers end up with a bunch of strange stock that they can't discount due to "pure pricing", the customers don't buy them, and the cars rot away. It's bad for everyone.
  12. Looks like a beast, the post above mine is solid. If he's there, ask for Buzzy Gaz. Old school car salesman but not in a bad way, he'll take good care of you. I know he does used cars in the Kings automall I just don't remember which store. And yeah, his name is Buzzy.
  13. Drive it first. It's a bit of a torqueless wonder.
  14. Friend and hockey teammate passed away this weekend, does anyone know where I can get about a dozen armbands or iron-on patches locally on short notice? thanks in advance
  15. Well under 100k miles and under $15k don't really go together well with Wranglers. It's a seller's market when it comes to them, that's generally way below market price for a 2007+. You may have luck looking at an 06 or older and, IMO, the straight sixes on those are much MUCH better than the 3.8s in the 07-12 models.
  16. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125413 2 of them for sale. Not much to say here, currently running them in a Crossfire setup, runs most games on ultra settings with no issues whatsoever, currently enjoying Project Cars and Mad Max on ultra settings. Cards are a couple years old. Would prefer to keep them together. $200 EDIT for lower price
  17. Or Sally Kurgis :lolguy: NEVAR FORGET
  18. If you ever limp it out to Ohio, whether on a trailer or on its own power, let me know. As I said before, our service dept is top notch and I'll make sure they get your car sorted out properly.
  19. Yeah, it looked to me that best case scenario he got a very fast, very scary snow wave to the face and at worst he was definitely clipped by that truck. After that it's kind a no fucks given scenario, you try to run down an officer directly in front of you like that, you're toast.
  20. Wouldn't surprise me if the Texas market was gamed a bit. The Austin store pulls all kinds of shenanigans that wouldn't fly with any other brand. That said, you're spot on with FIAT service. So many dealer groups didn't dedicate good techs to the brand and as a result, a lot of people got subpar service. It drives me up a wall when I see our tech fixing other tech's mistakes. We have probably one of the top ten if not top 5 FIAT/Alfa techs in the country at our store. I wish everyone had dedicated guys like him, the brand would be doing so much better. Sadly, we're stuck with a bunch of uninterested salespeople, uninterested techs, and uninterested dealer principles that blame everything on corporate. IMO it comes down to the stores themselves underperforming.
